The City of Soledad (City), California is in Monterey County approximately 25 miles southeast of the City of Salinas, which is the County seat. The City is a full-service organization that manages and operates the water and wastewater programs provides domestic water to residential, commercial, industrial and institutional customers within the City limits, and Sewer treatment for the city and two state prisons. The City limits coincide with the wastewater service area, the prison has its own water system. The City population of approximately 17,586 (2019 estimate).The City is in the middle of a residential boom, this building boom include over 300 residential units, two new parks, the addition of a new Community College campus, a new Cinema and the first roundabout in the valley.

Soledad is centrally located in the Salinas Valley with easy access to Pinnacles National Park, the Arroyo Seco recreation area, the Monterey Wine Country, the Monterey Bay Area and world-famous Big Sur area.
