The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Administrative Assistant in the City Manager's Office! In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop thorough knowledge of citywide policies and procedures in order to support core functions in your assigned department.
In addition to office support, you'll be responsible for a wide variety of complex, non-routine support functions that may involve researching complex information, analyzing and compiling data, reviewing documents, and assisting with budgets. You'll use skills like problem-solving, project management, and communication to gather information and determine the appropriate action, decision, or solution.
This recruitment is for an unrepresented Administrative Assistant position in the City Manager's Office.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:
Equivalent to graduation from high school and four (4) years of progressively responsible staff support work.Applicants must have satisfactorily completed three (3) semester units or four (4) quarter units of college course work in business, public administration, or related subjects, plus be enrolled in a second elementary college-level related course which must be completed before the end of probation and must complete three (3) semester or (4) quarter units of college course work in related subjects within one (1) year of appointment.
Nine (9) semester units or twelve (12) quarter units, completed prior to appointment, will satisfy this requirement.
