LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT: Temporary/Seasonal Employment
Aquatics Season: End of May - End of October 2019 for programs offered at the Pat Granucci Aquatic Center.
Staff can average between 10-40 hours per week based on the season, needs of the program, and staff availability. Staff may be required to work weekends and holidays.

Exam Process: Only a limited number of candidates, whose applications indicate that, among those competing, they are better qualified in terms of related experience, will be invited to participate in the recruitment process, which will consist of:
Oral Interview (weighted 100%).
Knowledge of: Aquatics safety standards; first aid practices; swimming rescue techniques; CPR; basic swim instruction techniques and methods; stroke mechanics; principles and practices of customer service; principles and practices of workplace safety; and basic mathematics.
Ability to: Manage large groups of people under pressure; relate well with members of the public including youth and their parents; use courtesy, tact and firmness when dealing with the public; issue clear and concise verbal instructions; understand and follow oral and written instructions; and be a self starter.
Employment Processing: Those selected are subject to pre-employment drug testing and finger printing. In accordance with Federal law, an employee must provide proof of identity and proof that they may legally work in the United States.
Veteran's Preference Points: Veteran's Preference Points will be applied in accordance with the City's Personnel Rules & Regulations. A copy of the DD214 form must be filed at the time of application.
