The Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments (AMBAG) is a voluntary association of 18 cities and three counties in California's beautiful Central Coast region. The region surrounds much of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary and includes Pinnacles National Park and the Salinas Valley's booming agricultural community, home to fields of lettuce, broccoli, and asparagus, as well as row upon row on some of the finest wine grapes in the state. 

AMBAG addresses issues and provides services for regional and municipal planning, economic and community development, housing planning cartography and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), hazard mitigation and emergency planning, aging services, water use, pollution control, transit and transportation planning, long range transportation planning and programming, energy efficiency, greenhouse gas (GHG) inventorying, development and maintenance of the Regional Travel Demand Model (RTDM) and prepares regional housing, population and employment forecasts that are utilized in a variety of regional plans and programs.
