The City of Redding is nestled in the north end of the Sacramento Valley, in Shasta County. With a population of 90,000 residents, Redding is the largest city north of Sacramento, and is strategically located on Interstate 5, equidistant between Seattle and Los Angeles.

The City of Redding was incorporated on October 4, 1887, as a general law city formed under state legislative statutes and governed by a body of laws in the State Constitution. The City has grown to over a 59 square miles and stands as the gateway to the Shasta Cascade Region and Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area, which offers a seemingly endless variety of recreation possibilities. Redding maintains a historic downtown, countless beautiful parks, the renowned Sundial Bridge, and enjoys the Sacramento River flowing right through it.
