Description

TEEN CENTER/ KIDS NIGHT OUT PROGRAM STAFF

Salary Range: $17.37 to $28.95/hour depending on experience.

 

This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefitted position; 15-20 hours per week (not to exceed 950 hours per fiscal year); predominantly afternoon/early evening schedule with some weekends and concurrent with the school year.

 

SUPERVISION

General supervision received from the Program Coordinator. May exercise supervision of other staff depending on position.

 

GENERAL DUTIES

Responsible for general oversight of and ensuring the safety of the after-school youth programming. Specific responsibilities to include:

 

  • Organize and execute a variety of daily and weekly activities for participants ranging in ages 5 –14   including art, crafts, and games
  • Mentor and role model, strive to inspire and guide participants towards their full potential
  • Maintain accurate attendance records on a daily and weekly basis
  • Effectively facilitate and/or lead small and large groups of youth.
  • Communicate effectively with participants, co-workers, parents, and supervisors
  • Willing and available to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Plan and execute duties related to special interest classes, school-year and seasonal programs, and special events.
  • Serve as a role model and advocate for youth.
  • Communicate effectively with youth and their parents.

ABOUT TEEN CENTER/ KIDS NIGHT OUT

These initiatives are geared towards promoting their personal growth, encouraging cultural diversity and unity, fostering wellness, and ultimately, improving the overall image and sense of belonging within the community.

 

Middle School (Teen Centers) 

Our Teen Centers provide a secure and entertaining atmosphere for middle school students to spend their after-school hours. The centers are furnished with the latest game consoles, high-definition TVs, sports equipment, computers with internet access, board games, and other amusing activities. We operate on early release days and select non-school days, but we are closed during holidays.

 

Shifts and Locations


Charlotte Wood Middle School:
Mon–Fri, 2:30–5:30pm

Diablo Vista Middle School:
Mon–Fri, 2:30–5:30pm

Los Cerros Middle School:
Mon, Tues, Thu – 3:00-5:30pm, Wed – 2:15-5:30pm, Fri – 1:15-5:30pm
 

Youth Services/Kids’ Night Out Program

Under the general supervision of the Youth Program Coordinator and direct supervision of the Youth Program Assistant, Youth Services staff is responsible for supervision and safety within the bi-monthly Kids’ Night Out Program, including implementing a variety of crafts, games and activities for youth ages 5 to 11. 

 

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

 

Prior to the start of employment, applicants must provide proof of authorization to work in the United States, current (negative) TB test results, and successfully pass a background check (LiveScan).
