The Fremont Police Communications Center

As a Fremont Police Dispatcher, you will have the opportunity to apply for different assignments, coupled with extensive training.  The center dispatches all 911 calls for the City of Fremont and the City of Union City.

Prime Schedule

  • 4 work days
  • 4 days off
  • 11 hours per shift
  • 50 minutes paid lunch
  • 1 hour paid on duty workout

Compensation

  • Dispatcher Salary: $7,101 - $8,631 monthly (Lateral salary will be negotiated at the time of hire)
  • Tuition Reimbursement $1,500 per fiscal year
  • Bilingual Pay: $150 monthly
  • 192 hours annual general leave

Training Program

36 week POST certification training consisting of classroom instruction, phone training, radio training, and more...

Probationary Period

12 months, which begins after completion of the training program.

 

 

 

Ideal Candidate

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to type no less than 45 WPM and have obtained a valid typing certificate
  • Graduation from an accredited high school, GED or CHSPE
  • One year of successful full-time responsible experience performing work where the essential functions of the job involve public contact, computer usage, or heavy telephone traffic

Lateral Requirements

  • Currently employed as a Dispatcher by a California public safety agency
  • Successful completion of probation at the current agency
