Description

The Fremont Police Department is currently recruiting for the part-time, temporary position of Police Reserve Officer Level I. The application deadline to be a part of the first review is January 28, 2024, at 11:59 PM. This recruitment will remain open until all positions are filled, but may close at any time without notice. Ideal Candidate

The Police Department is searching for motivated and enthusiastic individuals who work well in a team environment and who are interested in supporting public safety objectives. Additionally, they will be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and department staff. The position allows for ample growth and career advancement in the field of law enforcement. Hours worked per week may vary depending on assignment and department needs.

 

The Position and Responsibilities

Our Reserve Officers routinely support patrol functions which may include uniformed side by side partnership with full-time Police Officers. In addition, Reserve Officers may provide a police presence at community events and special events such as the Fremont Festival of the Arts, Niles Flea Market, and various school functions such as football games and dances. Depending on skills and abilities, Reserve Officers may support crime mitigation programs such as the Unmanned Aerial Systems (Drone) operations, Real Time Information Center (RTIC) support, Mobile Evaluation Team (MET) homeless response, Traffic Unit initiatives, Detention/Transport Services, Special Assignment/Security Details, Animal Services, and Community Connections (problem solving) Initiatives.
