San José Mineta International Airport is accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Assistant. This vacancy is for our Swing Swift team, which is roughly from 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 pm.

The Maintenance Assistant position is responsible for raking leaves and debris, digging post holes, trimming hedges and trees, as well as cleaning large areas that contain debris, weeds, abandoned materials, catch basins and gutters. The Maintenance Assistant will also be required to safely operate pressure washers, scrubbers, sweepers, pick-up trucks, as well as tractors with flail mower attachments. Other responsibilities include assisting with forming, pouring and finishing of new concrete surfaces, and working on landscape projects near roadways, which may involve proper set-up of roadway markings and traffic control. In addition, this position will be responsible for planting ground covers, flowers, plants and trees, using a variety of soil amendments and fertilizers. - Participates in the repair of sewer lines, checking of sanitary sewers, laying of sewer pipes, and installation of sewer connections.

- Lifts heavy weights.

- Operates small dump trucks, light flatbed trucks, portable cement mixers, small sweepers and other equipment.

- Uses tools such as air spades, tampers, picks, shovels, hoes, rakes, pruning shears, rototillers, trimmers, shears, edgers, loppers, pruners and other items.

DEFINITION:

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS:

The Property and Evidence Supervisor is a single position within the Police Department responsible for facilitating the safe and secure storage of all property and evidence under the department’s control. • Attend training sessions on proper procedures for firearms safety, infectious disease control, hazardous materials awareness, occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens, evidence tracking and control systems, general forensic laboratory, and evidence collection, packaging, and sealing.

• Coordinate the 4th of July fireworks confiscation and destruction with Cal-Fire.

• Perform a variety of other duties as assigned.

This position requires demonstrated three (3) years of experience in plant nursery or grounds maintenance or other relevant field work to demonstrate sufficient expertise with plant identification, installation, monitoring, and maintenance.

Supervision

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to life and carry items weighing up to 90 pounds for 75 feet over rough terrain multiple times per day, frequently operate light- and medium-duty equipment, work in outdoor weather conditions, frequently move about work sites, communicate and exchange information, observe site conditions, transport equipment, materials, and tools between vehicle and work sites on a daily basis, and occasionally ascend/descend a ladder to access areas of work.

Required Hours and Location

Tuesday through Friday, 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week. Occasionally start/end times may vary. Occasional overtime work upon prior approval by Supervisors. The position requires daily travel to various agency locations. The work is spread over numerous job sites from the Santa Clarita Valley, the full length of the Santa Monica Mountains, Simi Hills, Santa Susana Mountains, and the western San Gabriel Mountains. The headquarters of the MRCA Restoration Division is in the Calabasas area at King Gillette Ranch; however, most days employees drive directly to a different job site. Based on vehicle availability, most crew members are assigned a truck and gas card soon after a probationary period.

The majority of MRCA properties are open to the general public. Parking lots, shared public/office restrooms and in-person meeting rooms are open during regular business hours. Position Description:

Under the direction of Chief Technology Officer, the Technology Portfolio Manager will manage the System Integration for Intelligent Transportation Systems unit and oversee a portfolio of $30M capital projects in the Comm/IT Capital Improvement Program. The Technology Portfolio Manager is responsible for maintaining fiscal, schedule and technical control of the project and maintaining strong working relationships with clients and technicians throughout the project. The Technology Portfolio Manager will be responsible for data solution operations through an in-depth understanding of hardware and software solutions and coordination of project managers and field technicians. This role will contribute to the strategic design process to identify more integration opportunities and is accountable for staff performance in managing the workload and quality control of the portfolio of projects.

How to qualify

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; AND
2. Six (6) years of professional-level experience overseeing enterprise-level technology projects. Professional-level experience in the functional area consists of interpreting laws and regulations, and/or exercising independent judgment in the application of defined principles, practices, and regulations; AND
3. Three (3) years of experience must include supervising professional-level staff that interpret laws and regulations, and/or exercise independent judgment in the application of defined principles, practices, and regulations.

Substitution:

Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education in Minimum Qualifications on a year-for-year basis. One year (2000 hours) of qualifying experience will be considered equivalent to thirty (30) semester units/forty-five (45) quarter units.

Possession of an advanced degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of the required non-supervisory experience listed above. This substitution may not be applied to the required three (3) years of supervisory experience.
