THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for an individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Adult Outpatient Program (AOP). The Clinical Therapist I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community with moderate to severe behavioral health clients. 

 

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

 

• Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high acuity clients.

 

• Within scope of authority, assesses, diagnoses, and treats a variety of clients with mental health disorders; collaborates with clients and creates individualized treatments plans according to client’s needs and circumstances.

 

• Initiates and conducts individual, group, and family counseling and biopsychosocial therapy sessions utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities; provides case management services in the office and in the field.

 

• Performs routine and emergency intake evaluations according to Authority procedure; completes appropriate forms and documents relating to the intake process; and prepares medical and demographic case history for use in diagnosis.

 

• Assists clients and family members in understanding behavioral health diagnosis, contributing factors/causes, effects, prognosis, rehabilitation, and treatment.

 

• Works with clients to address stressors and barriers to treatment and/or social functioning; identifies and focuses on client strengths and personal resources to effectively engage and treat client.

About the Position: 

Ideal candidates are organized, creative, and energetic self-starters with excellent communication and project management skills, who enjoys working within a collaborative team dynamic. Top-level candidates will have at least one year of professional experience and should also be familiar with CEQA/environmental review and local, state, and federal land use laws and processes.

The Planner I-II communicates and collaborates closely with other departments to complete project requirements, work with local jurisdictional agencies to coordinate planning and permitting efforts; direct multidisciplinary teams of consultants; prepare and present clear and concise oral and written communications to senior staff, the Board of Directors and public; keep projects on schedule and on budget while remaining flexible to adjust priorities as needed; maintain well-organized and complete project documentation; and build trust with peers, community members, stakeholders, and Midpen leadership. The position is based upon the Planner I/II job description, focused on planning functions (see the Job Description page on Midpen’s website for Planner I/II). The position receives direct supervision from a Planner III or Senior Planner. 

The Planner II focuses on a wide variety of planning and capital improvement projects that increase public access and enjoyment of District lands. In addition to supporting senior staff, the Planner II is tasked with analyzing and developing recommendations for land use policies; preparing long-range preserve and site-specific plans to guide the use and management of District lands; participating in scoping, planning, preliminary design, and environmental review of capital improvement projects related to new trails, parking lots, or facilities; developing and soliciting consultant request for proposal for professional services; developing, administering, and monitoring consultant contracts; reviewing and managing consultant work; conducting or overseeing studies to identify and evaluate environmental issues related to public access and natural and cultural resources; preparing requests for proposals; assisting in development and administration of grant applications; preparing and/or assisting in the preparation of environmental review documents; obtaining planning and environmental permits and initial approvals for Midpen projects; performing work in support of District programs; and reviewing external agency projects for impacts on Midpen lands.  The position uses computer-based and/or other systems such as MS Projects, Sharepoint, GIS for management and analysis of data regarding Midpen lands, facilities, natural resources and activities.

Planner II Annual Pay Range: $98,417-$122,882

The Planner I supports with planning and project management as described in the tasks above. Assigned tasks may be more limited in scope to Planner II and may serve to support larger scale projects managed by more senior-level staff.

Planner I Annual Pay Range: $93,735 - $117,035

Work Environment:  This position is part of the Planning Department at Midpen’s offices in Los Altos, California.  In addition to working in the office, the Planner I/II will often work in the field and hike through steep terrain and wildland areas.  Fieldwork will require driving in remote areas on dirt roads, working in temperatures ranging from cold and blustery to hot and dry, exposure to site conditions that include ticks, poisonous oak, and wildlife. Ideal candidates will be comfortable working in these types of field conditions, as well as in an office environment. Education and Experience:  Any combination of training and years of work experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in urban planning, community development, environmental sciences, or a closely related field, and   

• Planner II: two (2) years of increasing responsible experience in urban or open space planning, preferably on projects related to those found at Midpen.
• Planner I: one (1) year of responsible architectural, landscape, urban or open space planning experience including computer graphics or design; experience with design, research and basic reports is highly desirable.

The Behavioral Health Clinician I/II performs a variety of professional duties in the provision of outpatient and crisis behavioral health services to individuals and groups. This person will work with complex casework which may include clinics, criminal justice, adult services, youth and family services, and other mental health settings where they may be asked to  respond to crisis situations, work with case managers and psychiatrists in treatment teams and be familiar with various treatment modalities to ensure clients are in appropriate treatment services. Distinguishing Characteristics

Associate Engineer - This is the journey level class in the engineering series. Incumbents work independently, seeking assistance only as new or unusual situations arise. Representative Duties

The Project Development Manager is responsible for participating in project development through working with developers, feedstock providers, financing agencies, public agencies, and other organizations related primarily to the development of biomass facilities. The Project Development Manager assumes a high level of responsibility for difficult, complex and varied duties, works with a high degree of independence, and represents Pioneer Community Energy to a variety of stakeholders and outside entities. Duties include:

• Developing biomass power generation facilities within California.
• Managing and supporting all aspects of biomass project development from initial site selection through operations.
• Managing contractors, vendors, and consultants to maintain project timeline and value optimization.
• Communicating and syncing cross-functionally, including with developers, procurement team, legislative/regulatory, and legal team members regularly to minimize project risks.
• Identifying, proposing, and implementing creative or alternative project development approaches that reduce exposure to permitting risks, optimize development schedules or drive additional project value.
• Managing and facilitating development services agreements with local or regional development partners.
• Working with developers on exploring project funds and financing alternatives during financial feasibility analysis, evaluation, and during the project debt and tax equity financing processes.
• Traveling to site locations to meet with landowners and evaluate sites.

THE JOB

The Executive Director will serve as a visionary leader for the organization and is responsible for coordinating and expanding various mental health services, ensuring team members are meeting desirable outcomes and providing excellence in service to the communities. They will direct the development of organization-wide goals, policies, and procedures and keep the Governing Board aware of financial conditions, program progress, and the organization’s needs. This job requires financial savvy and organizational development expertise. Implementing strategic plans is essential for this role, as it involves spearheading innovative change. Additionally, the Executive Director must be able to provide policy guidance and ensure compliance with governmental regulations. They will also serve as a representative of TCMHA in meetings with governmental agencies, community groups, and other key stakeholders.

Role description

Under general supervision, an Employee Assistance Counselor provides clinical assessment, short-term counseling and referral of City and County employees experiencing difficulties related to personal or work-related problems, such as stress, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, emotional concerns or relationship issues. A Counselor conducts seminars, trainings, and consultations on issues related to personal and organizational wellness; prepares records and reports; and performs related duties as required.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Provides clinical assessment, short-term counseling and referral services to employees of the City and County who are experiencing difficulties related to personal or work-related problems, such as stress, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, emotional concerns or relationship issues; provides counseling of family members and significant others as appropriate.
2. Facilitates seminars and trainings for employees and management on personal, interpersonal and organizational issues such as the effective management of stress, anger and emotions, workplace negativity and dealing with difficult people.
3. Assists in evaluation efforts to determine the effectiveness of services provided.
4. Educates employees, supervisors and managers regarding EAP service offerings, how to access services, early identification of personal and workplace problems, and referrals to the program.
5. Provides trauma response, crisis intervention and mediation/conflict resolution services as requested.

The Position:

The Literacy Technology Assistant helps Read Santa Clara's adult learners gain basic digital literacy skills. The person helps adult learners 1:1 or in small groups learn how to use the literacy program's laptops and iPads as well as how to use literacy software on their own devices. The Literacy Technology Assistant may also be called on to support volunteer tutors or Read Santa Clara staff, as the need arises. The Literacy Technology Assistant is a patient, empathetic individual, who can teach basic technology skills to adults who have little or no digital literacy skills.

 

As an as-needed employee, this is an "at-will" position and there is no guarantee of hours. Hours are limited to 999 in a fiscal year or 960 hours in a fiscal year for retired CalPERS annuitants.
