TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: PROVISIONAL (TPV)

This is not a permanent appointment. A provisional appointee must participate and be successful in a Civil Service Examination process for this classification and be selected through an open competitive process in order to be considered for a permanent appointment. Provisional appointments may not exceed three (3) years.

Job Description

Under general supervision, the Tool Room Mechanic and Custodian is responsible for keeping, issuing, receiving and repairing tools and equipment utilized by the Airport’s Custodial Services unit; preventing minor losses through the safeguarding of tools and equipment; and keeping records of items received, issued and on hand; performs related duties as required.

1. Inspects tools and trouble-shoot equipment used in the cleaning maintenance program at San Francisco International Airport 
2. Maintains and repairs tools and equipment including assembly, disassembly, cleaning, ordering new parts and reassembly, including electrical and mechanical equipment.
3. Performs safety checks on tools and equipment.
4. Checks on tools and equipment returned for defective parts; orders replacements of supplies and stock items as required.
5. Repairs/replaces hoses, belts, electric plugs and electrical extension cords, on/off switches and replacing equipment fuses.
6. Repairs/replaces various wheels, filters, squeegee assemblies and squeegees on equipment.
7. Maintains custodial equipment through assisting/training staff regarding regular maintenance of janitorial equipment.
8. Performs and maintains custodial preventive maintenance program.  
9. Provides data to update tool and equipment repair database.  
10. Provides input regarding necessary replacement cycles and inventory of necessary repair parts.
11. Works in cooperation with current vendors and other repair facilities with regard to repair of larger pieces of cleaning equipment.

Nature of work requires some physical effort and dexterity in the use of fingers, limbs and body; intermittent exposure to working conditions where minor injuries may occur.

Requires completion of eight (8) years of elementary school, supplemented by at least one (1) year of experience in general mechanical maintenance and repair work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Director of Finance located in Boulder Creek, CA. The Director of Finance supervises, oversees and manages the activities and operations of the Finance Department including financial reporting, general accounting, purchasing, warehousing and inventory control; budget preparation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, debt administration, revenue management, administration of invested funds and performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications – Demonstrated Knowledge and Performance in the Following Areas

• Principles and practices of financial analysis.
• Principles and practices of public agency finance, including general and governmental accounting, auditing, and reporting functions.
• Fundamentals of investment management, monitoring of assets, and required reporting.
• Cash flow management and financial projections for planning and decision-making.
• Advanced accounting and financial reporting systems.
• Advanced principles and practices of public agency budget development and administration and sound financial management policies and procedures;
• Principles and practices of effective management and supervision including planning, organizing, reviewing work, and training and evaluating staff.
• Computer applications related to accounting, budgeting, and fiscal management.
• Principles, practices, and trends of public and business administration.
• Applicable Federal, State, local, and district laws rules, regulatory codes, ordinances, and procedures relevant to the assigned area of responsibility;
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Experience in the water utility industry is a plus
• Knowledge of California water utility regulations and laws is a plus

Education, Training and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in finance, accounting, or auditing preferably in governmental/ municipal agency

A Dispatcher II is a civilian employee of the Police Department who performs a variety of tasks in the Department’s Support Services Division. The Dispatcher II acts as the Department’s primary dispatcher, receiving and relaying incoming calls for emergency and non-emergency assistance; dispatching police units; operating a variety of telecommunications equipment including radio, telephone, and computer-aided dispatch systems; status monitoring, records and file maintenance in a computer-aided environment; and entry level dispatch training. A Dispatcher II may be assigned to work various hours, shifts, holidays, weekends and overtime.

Additional duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: prioritize requests for service based upon available resources, receive radio requests and handle accordingly, type, process and file a wide variety of reports and materials including memos, letters, complaints, declarations, warrants, citations, crime and traffic reports.  Assists Department personnel and the public in person and by phone performing record checks, collecting fees and mailing requested reports to outside agencies in accordance with established regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Have a combination of education and work experience, including a minimum of 1 year of dispatch work; general office work involving typing of varied materials, public contact, general filing and basic record keeping; type at least 40 wpm (net).  Have knowledge of business English, spelling; modern office practices and procedures; record keeping. Ability to dispatch police units quickly and effectively; work under pressure; exercise independent judgment; work with minimal supervision; make sound decisions in emergency situations; learn assigned clerical tasks readily and to adhere to prescribed routine; write English legibly; establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public; operate computer-aided dispatch system, 911 emergency telephone, and other multi-line telephone systems, various law enforcement telecommunications systems, radio console with headsets and handsets, computer keyboards, cameras, intercoms, security. Willingness to work varying shifts and radio dispatching skills.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The City of Pleasant Hill offers a competitive compensation and benefits program.

• Salary:  $6,538 to $8,468 per month. Placement within the range depends on experience and qualifications.  
• Medical Benefits: Choice of coverage with Kaiser or Blue Shield. The City pays 80% of monthly premiums at each coverage level. In lieu of medical coverage, the City will contribute $400 (employee only coverage) or $500 (employee + 1 coverage) or $600 (family coverage) into a MissionSquare 457 deferred compensation plan

SELECTION PROCESS

The City of Santa Clara is recruiting for the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer for its Electric Utility, Silicon Valley Power (SVP).  Reporting to the Chief Electric Utility Officer (CEUO), the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a senior management position in the City's unclassified service responsible for the oversight and direction for the fiscal, administrative, and managerial operations of the utility. The COO has supervisory and support responsibilities for the utility's divisions: Utility Operations, Customer Development and Project Management, Resource Planning and Customer Engagement, and Business Services. The COO will help guide SVP through the extraordinary period of growth related by doubling the existing capacity of the electrical system to meet new customer demands over the next 10 years. In addition to the expansion, the COO will work to ensure new renewable resources are added to meet the City's and State’s climate goals. The COO is responsible for forecasting service requirements and for planning, organizing and directing assigned resources of the electric utility division in order to meet those requirements. This includes developing and administering the department operations and capital improvement budgets. The COO is expected to exercise critical thinking and detail oriented oversight in ensuring that utility operations are smooth, efficient, and compliant, with responsibility for results including costs, methods, and staffing.

THE POSITION

The IT Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the City's strategies and ensuring alignment with the City's mission and objectives. This position will oversee and mentor a team of skilled IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture, but also actively participating in the day-to-day operational tasks and responsibilities of the team.

The IT Manager will be responsible for the following upcoming projects:

• Developing a strategic plan for the IT division to foster transparency, increase operational efficiency, improve staff satisfaction, and to bolster trust.
• Replacing the outdated document management and retention system.
• Investing in technology that supports economic development efforts.

An example of duties are:

• Manages, directs, and organizes projects, activities, and resources for the IT Division, including but not limited to networks, servers, workstations, hardware and software utilized throughout the City, IoT, mobile and telephony infrastructure, security systems, data transmission, telecommunication systems, Geographic Information Systems and full IT support for all areas in public safety.
• Assists the Director of Administrative Services or the Deputy Director of Administrative Services in developing and implementing goals, objectives, policies, and work standards for the City of Rocklin departments and procedures for IT governance, security, and administration.
• Participates in the development and administration of the division budget.
• Plans, organizes, supervises, and evaluates the activities of professional, technical and administrative staff; develops and manages the IT division staff including hiring, education, and training; reviews and evaluates job performance and effectively recommends personnel actions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Services or a closely related field;

AND

Eight (8) years of increasingly responsible infrastructure and enterprise applications management experience in an IT environment consisting of multiple platforms, large-scale applications with multiple operating systems which included a minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience.

Licenses and Certifications

• Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, a valid California Class C Driver License and a satisfactory driving record is required. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
• Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications are highly desirable.
