To perform a variety of administrative and managerial responsibilities in the conduct and management of the activities of preparing City Council agendas, minutes, and Council packets, as well as responding to Public Records request and maintaining all official City records.

Provides continuous leadership in carrying out the program mission, as amended from time to time, including:
• Maintains records and prepares daily reports related to work performed.

• Prepare and distribute updates and revisions of Council Policy and those of city boards, commissions, and committees.
• Respond to inquiries from the public by letter, telephone and in person regarding Council action and records; research information for public or city staff when necessary.
• Maintain administrative files including historical legal documents, resolutions, ordinances, agreements, deeds and annexations.
• Serve as custodian of the city seal and city archivist for official records.

• Serve as financial disclosure officer for Fair Political Practices Commission for campaign disclosure forms and statement of economic interest.
• Represent the department to outside agencies and organizations; participate in outside community and professional groups and committees; provide technical assistance as necessary.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other city employees and the public using principles of good customer service.
• Process Worker’s Compensation Claims and coordinate other confidential HR-related activities.

The Sheriff’s Activities League Executive Director plans, coordinates, recommends, develops, implements and evaluates goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to youth programs; provides leadership and coordination to community groups, public and private agencies, advisory boards and volunteers in planning and implementing programs; provides highly complex staff support to senior level management within assigned area of specialization. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess any combination of the following education and experience:

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, management or a related field; or
• A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, management, child development, or a related field.
• Four to six years of progressively responsible administration or management experience in a Police/Sheriff Activities League or similar non-profit community service organization which includes experience working with a volunteer board.

As the Executive Director, your responsibilities will include:

• Planning, directing, monitoring, and evaluating the effectiveness of comprehensive county-wide services and programs, including needs assessment, program design and planning, implementation, evaluation, and regulatory enforcement.
• Directing, coordinating, and participating in the development and implementation of program goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and priorities that balance both mandated services and community needs.

Education and Experience:

Three years of experience in a health, social or community services organization, including at least two years of significant responsibility for one or more of the following: program and budget development or coordination of community resources or program evaluation.

THE POSITION:
This benefitted, full-time position in the Cataloging Department performs original and derived cataloging for materials in all formats and languages; creates metadata for special collections materials; creates and updates authority records; compiles and reviews records for monthly authority control processing; interprets cataloging policies to staff; and serves as back-up for all copy cataloging tasks and other related duties in the Cataloging Department as needed. The position reports to the Librarian III in the Cataloging Department of the Collection Services Division, located at the Rohnert Park Headquarters.

TYPICAL DUTIES include, but are not limited to:

• Performing original and derived cataloging for special collections materials in all formats, local government documents, local author books; local musician/musical group sound recordings; world language materials and other materials in the circulating/reference collections lacking records; assigns Dewey classification numbers
• Researching names, birth dates, street names, etc. in the Library catalog and other databases to create and update authority records and digital projects metadata
• Entering metadata for photos, archival collections and other special collections materials into Excel spreadsheets
• Loading new records and correcting existing records in the Library’s integrated library system (Horizon), digital asset management system (Quartex), archives system (ArchivesSpace) or other platforms
• Compiling information on new records from a series of monthly reports; investigating problems such as missing or malformed call numbers; and searching WorldCat via OCLC Connexion for replacement records
• Preparing and exporting monthly batches of new bibliographic records to Marcive, Inc. for authority processing; retrieving, importing and troubleshooting processed files 
• Managing retrieval of vendor-provided shelf-ready MARC files via FTP, importing files into Horizon and trouble-shooting problems
• Participating in maintenance and enhancements to the public catalog

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience working with OCLC Connexion, Horizon, Quartex, ArchivesSpace or similar systems
• Knowledge of metadata standards, digital asset management systems
• Multilingual (Spanish especially helpful)
• Basic programming/scripting/Regular Expressions knowledge helpful

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Education and Experience: Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), Master of Library Science (MLS), or Master of Science in Library Science (MSLS) degree from an accredited college or university. The Librarian II requires two years of appropriate professional experience working as a professional librarian, preferably in a public library. Must have a valid California driver’s license. Spanish bilingual skills preferred.

A Dance Instructor (Program Specialist) will plan, prepare and instruct recreation activities. Activities may include art, cooking, dance, pre-school program and other program areas. Programs are designed for children ages 4-17 (primarily 5-12) years of age.

Per Diem Librarian I

THE POSITION: The San Mateo Public Library has an opening for 2 per diem Librarian I positions with regular schedules (schedules listed below). This recruitment will also be used to fill on call per diem Librarian openings. On call per diem librarians in this role do not have a regular schedule but pick up shifts on an as-needed basis to fill coverage gaps on the Library’s service desks at the Main Library (adult and children’s desks) and branches.

The library is looking for someone who embodies the City of San Mateo’s shared values of respect, creativity, inclusivity, transparency, and integrity to perform a wide variety of library work.

Responsibilities include serving at the Library’s information desks at the Main Library and branches; researching and responding to difficult or technical reference questions; advising and assisting Library patrons; demonstrating the use of on-line library catalogs, databases and other user aids; performing bibliographic searches using online and/or print resources; and performing other tasks as assigned such as assisting with programming and collection management.

SALARY:             $36.90 per hour (Step 1). This position is considered part time and offers limited benefits after working a specified number of hours.

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to provide highly complex professional work in the planning, management and oversight of construction and rehabilitation projects and programs. The Asset Management Division, along with the Real Estate Development Division, are part of SCCHA’s Real Estate Department.  The team working in Real Estate is mission oriented, dynamic and collaborative. The team works closely together to creatively develop new affordable housing as well as preserve existing assets.

LITERACY ASSOCIATE – CENTRAL SANTA ROSA LIBRARY

40 HOURS PER WEEK – FULL TIME

 
We are seeking a customer service driven professional with excellent communication skills to join our team as an Adult Literacy Associate. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a group of dedicated professionals who are helping to change the literacy landscape in Sonoma County. This position is part of the Adult Literacy department located in the downtown Central Santa Rosa Library. Spanish/English bilingual skills are highly preferred.

Under direction of the Adult Services Administrator and the Supervising Literacy Program Coordinator, this position coordinates and administers tutor services for the Adult Literacy Services Program (ALS), recruits and provides orientations, training and in-service workshops to tutors for various adult literacy programs, and provides on-going coaching and support for tutors.
 
TYPICAL TASKS include, but are not limited to:

• Organizes, conducts and evaluates orientations, trainings and in-service workshops for tutors of adult learners; organizes conversation classes and determines the schedule and use of the student computer. 
• Recruits, selects, supervises, supports and encourages tutors; plans and implements methods to both recruit and retain tutors.
• Provides tutors with all instructional resources and materials needed to work with the student and provides ongoing support to the tutor for the duration of their service.
• Plans and organizes events in support of the Sonoma County Library adult literacy programs; participates in public meetings.
• Plans and implements outreach methods for the recruitment of volunteer tutors such as providing information on our program to newspapers, radio stations (PSA), and sending mailers to service and business groups; follows-up on recruitment efforts.
• Maintains the literacy library with relevant materials for the ALS programs.

 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Education: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in education, public administration or related fields. Experience: A combination of education and experience that creates an understanding of adult illiteracy. Generally, this would be achieved by two (2) years of administrative or programmatic experience including one year of library or literacy experience.  Experience working with adults in an educational setting. Spanish bilingual skills preferred.
 
SALARY RANGE:               $35.20/hour to $43.96/hour
