About Zookeeper Full Time/Part Time: The position performs work involving the care and feeding of zoo, domestic farm, and/or non-domestic animals and maintenance of enclosures, grounds and service areas; working with animals under all types of climatic conditions to prepare them for presentations, training, capture and restraint, basic husbandry, and behavioral enrichment. The City of Berkeley is seeking a General Services Manager to join the Finance Department! MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Parks Planning and Design Manager Class Specification

Under administrative direction, plans, organizes, manages, and directs the activities of the Landscape Architecture Division; serves as a key staff member in the administration, development, and implementation of policies, systems, and procedures to facilitate the implementation of the City’s Park Master Plan; oversees and directs the supervision and activities of citywide tree preservation and landscape development policies; and gives professional advice on landscape matters.

Class Characteristics 
This is a single position management classification reporting to the Community Services Director.  The incumbent has considerable latitude in the application of department policy as it relates to division activities and follows general guidelines or professional and administrative standards in accomplishing assignments; the incumbent is expected to identify policy issues and work with other staff to develop options and recommend solutions.  This classification is distinguished from the Senior Landscape Architect by the latter’s responsibility to manage the staff and activities of one or more sections of the Landscape Architecture Division.

• Performing public contact and liaison work in explaining and interpreting the Project Hope program.
• Preparing and monitoring budget and timesheets for the program and in support of neighborhood associations.
• Preparing monthly reports and correspondence and assisting community groups in grant writing.
• Coordinating with governmental agencies, local businesses, community-based organizations, County partners and City departments.
• Surveying targeted neighborhoods needs via methods including telephone, surveys, knock-and-talks or door-to-door canvassing.
• Providing information to residents on accessing City services or other service providers.
• Assisting in planning and implementing special activities or programs, such as community service or community empowerment projects, community meetings, community/graffiti clean-ups, tree-planting, tutoring, or sports activities for and with neighborhood associations.
• Rendering first aid in case of injury; watching for the safety of participants and spectators.
• Designing and producing flyers and announcements.
• May be required to provide bilingual translation, both orally and in writing.
