The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the County-wide classification of Senior Accounting Technician. The current vacancy exists within the Treasurer – Tax Collector’s Office. The City of Berkeley is seeking a General Services Manager to join the Finance Department! In this role, you will act as the division head and will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the programs and activities of the General Services Division. The incumbent will have management responsibility for this division, which provides for the centralized purchasing, central duplication and mail services for the City. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college with major course work in accounting, business administration, information technology or public administration or a related field, and four (4) years experience with management and supervisory responsibility for purchasing, accounts payable or other municipal services functions similar to those identified herein, of which two (2) years of experience must have been in managing a centralized purchasing operation.

Progressively responsible related experience may be substituted for the college course work on a year-for-year basis.

Other requirements: Must be able to travel to various locations within and outside the City of Berkeley to meet the program needs and to fulfill the job responsibilities. When driving on City business, maintenance of a valid California driver's license and satisfactory driving record is required.

Our Minimum Qualifications for consideration are:

Counter Services Technician I:

Education/Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by specialized training in the building trades, civil engineering, code compliance, planning, or a related field.

Experience: One year of increasingly responsible experience providing customer service at a public counter or office that provides construction, architecture, engineering or similar services is desirable.

Counter Services Technician II:

Education/Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by specialized training in the building trades, civil engineering, code compliance, planning, or a related field.

Experience: Two years of increasingly responsible experience providing customer service at a public counter or office that provides construction, architecture, engineering or similar services.

A Dance Instructor (Program Specialist) will plan, prepare and instruct recreation activities. Activities may include art, cooking, dance, pre-school program and other program areas. Programs are designed for children ages 4-17 (primarily 5-12) years of age.

Dance programs may include ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, ballroom, folkloric, salsa, and rhythmic international styles.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (These duties are a general description and are not all inclusive.)

• Develop and submit lesson plans including class content and material needs.
• Lead organized activities to develop and strengthen youth academic, recreational, and social skills.
• Plan lessons and activities so they are appropriate to students with various abilities.

• Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on the activities, camps and events
• Conduct creative and safe class meetings; instruct students on the safe and proper use of supplies, tools, and equipment

SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED

General supervision is provided by a program coordinator or Recreation Supervisor. The Program Specialist may supervise a part-time aide and/or "counselor in training" in a classroom environment in daily activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age
• Different program areas will have different skills and knowledge requirements for the position; check with Recreation Supervisor. (For example: 6 ECE unites required for pre-school instructor)
• One school year teaching experience
• At least one year's experience working with children in an academic setting
• Must be willing and able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required

REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT

• Must be able to handle sensitive and/or stressful situations or information with tact, discretion and significant awareness of confidentiality
• Must effectively communicate with adults and children from a variety of cultural backgrounds

The County of Yuba is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the flexibly staffed position of Elections Clerk I-II in the Elections Division within the Clerk-Recorder’s Office for both Extra Help and Full Time positions. This position reports directly to the Registrar of Voters Manager. This class is flexibly staffed, and incumbents may advance to the II-level after gaining experience, demonstrating proficiency, and meeting the qualifications. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn state and federal laws, rules and regulations related to conducting elections as well as County policies and procedures. As experience is gained, assignments become more complex and are performed under more general supervision. Incumbent to this position will assist in conducting elections; process voter registration; maintain voter registration database; review and accept election filings; coordinate poll workers and polling facilities; proof printed, audio and electronic election materials; track, prepare and test electronic voting equipment; and perform other duties as assigned.

We have exciting internship opportunities available at the City of Millbrae’s Public Works Department.  The Public Works Department is looking to hire two (2) interns for the Engineering Division. This is an open-ended internship without a specific term. The working schedule is to be determined based on business needs and candidate availability, and no more than 1,000 hours in a fiscal year.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

In addition to the typical duties of a Sr. Facilities Repair Worker, the successful candidate will interact a n d compassionately communicate with interim housing tenants and pe ople in vulnerable housing situations . THE OPPORTUNITY

The City of Pacifica is recruiting for a Public Works Superintendent within the Department of Public Works. Under direction of the Field Services Manager, the incumbents will be responsible for the field services of the Public Works Department. They will plan, organize, and direct the work of field personnel and perform related work as required. The incumbents will be assigned to oversee various subdivisions such as Streets, Streams, Storm Drains, Street Lighting, and Motor Pool programs.

THE DEPARTMENT

The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining and repairing the City’s infrastructure and wastewater treatment operations in an efficient and cost-effective manner while providing a high level of customer service and a safe work environment for city employees. The Department maintains parks, playing fields and medians and keeps streets and trails clean and well-maintained. The Department also coordinates the tree program, cleans beaches and coordinates the City Beautification program.

The Public Works Department is organized into three divisions including Wastewater Treatment Operations, Field Services and Engineering. The Wastewater Treatment Operations includes the operation of the Calera Creek water treatment plant and management of the collection system. Field Services oversees the maintenance of city streets, parks, trees, vehicles and public facilities. The Engineering Division manages public infrastructure projects, transportation planning and maintenance and repair of the City’s infrastructure. The Public Works Department is supported by 56 full-time staff and an annual operating budget of $4.6 million, along with a FY2023-2028 CIP appropriation of $ 8.6 million.
