The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the classification of Social Worker II. Under general supervision, incumbents perform moderately complex social services case work by providing a variety of services to County residents; conducting field visits; identifying, assessing and arranging alternative solutions to clients’ needs and obstacles; carry a moderately complex caseload; prepare and monitor plans; prepare court reports, depending on area of assignment; and perform related work as assigned. The work may be related to a specific program area or to more general social service benefit provision.

Example of Duties:

• Interview and counsel a diverse population of clients; isolate barriers to self-sufficiency; and evaluate need for services and/or make appropriate referrals to training, public assistance and social services programs.
• Perform case management of moderately complex cases.
• Conduct field/home visits, assessments, and reassessments as required to monitor and investigate progress and compliance
• Prepare and review court pleadings, depending on area of assignment.

The Town of Los Gatos is establishing a pool of qualified Temporary / Seasonal Maintenance Assistant candidates for the Parks and Public Works Department. The pool of qualified candidates will be used for current and future vacancies in the Department. 

The Maintenance Assistant position is a temporary, hourly, at-will, non-benefited position limited to 999 hours of employment in a fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). The work schedule is primarily Saturdays and Sundays, 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., including holidays, with some weekday work schedule.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE 

The ideal candidate loves working outdoors in various weather conditions, possesses strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor, is flexible and willing to learn new tasks and skills, and can work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have experience in park maintenance and using hand and power tools.

Education: Completion of the twelfth grade or equivalent. 
Experience: One (1) year of park maintenance or other related work experience.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Social Worker Supervisor III in the Child and Adult Protective Services division of the Health and Human Services Department. Under general supervision this position plans, assigns, supervises, trains, reviews and evaluates the work of Social Workers assigned to adult and child protective services; oversees and performs social services case work of a complex and difficult nature in providing a variety of social services to County residents; performs case work of varying scope and complexity and may provide program leadership and consultative services; responsible for program planning and implementation as well as performance of the most complex work and the full range of work supervised on a relief or overflow basis and performs other duties as assigned. This position is the specialized supervisory professional level in the social worker series and reports directly to a Health and Human Services Program Manager.

Examples of Duties:

• Plan, organize, assign, supervise, review and evaluate the work of various levels of professional social work staff in the area of adult and child protective services.
• Provide direction and coaching, through regular feedback sessions; create individual development plans with employees, discuss job performance problems to identify causes and issues, and work on resolving problems; and offer advice and assistance as needed.
• Recommend and administer discipline and implement discipline procedures as needed/directed.
• Recommend selection of staff; provide or coordinate staff training and provide for their professional development.
• Interpret regulations and rules to staff; provide for consistency of staff interpretation and application of such rules and regulations.
• Provide technical assistance to staff regarding difficult case problems.
• Prepare and modifies procedures related to assigned activities; inform staff of such changes.
• Perform the full range of professional work, often in difficult or complex circumstances.
• Interview and counsel a diverse population referred for services; handle the most complex and sensitive child welfare services cases.

The Department

The Parks and Recreation Department is the third largest department in the City and is organized by program area, with each program administered by a supervisor, coordinator, or specialist. The Parks and Recreation Department is composed of a Director and 22 full-time management positions. The department is comprised of the Recreation, Community Services, Parks, Facilities and Common Greens divisions.

The Parks Division is in charge of planning and maintaining the City’s parks, playgrounds, sports fields, and other landscaping and performs a wide range of tasks in order to care for City parks and open spaces. Staff work throughout the year to refresh the appearance of parks repairing or replacing items as needed to keep public spaces clean and safe. There are approximately 25 parks and play lots, including Sign Hill Park, which has 60 acres of open space, and Centennial Way Linear Park, a 3-mile pedestrian and bicycle trail. The Community Services Manager for Human Services is responsible for managing the Fair Oaks Community Center (FOCC) and administering a number of financial assistance programs for local residents, as well as basic emergency and safety net services such as food, transportation, shelter referrals, housing assistance, and client advocacy. FOCC serves as one of eight core agencies in San Mateo County who work in close collaboration with the County Human Services Agency to provide vulnerable individuals and families in Redwood City and North Fair Oaks with much needed support to stabilize their living situations through a robust Information and Referral program. FOCC also serves as a designated entry point for the Coordinated Entry System for people experiencing homelessness in San Mateo County to access shelter and other resources.

The Community Services Manager for Human Services also oversees more traditional community center functions, providing room rentals for private events as well as free meeting space for nonprofits and community-based organizations. The Community Services Manager supports and interacts with a significant number of partner agencies who deliver services through FOCC. The facility includes both an Older Adult Activity Center run independently by Peninsula Family Services and a Child Care and Early Development Program. Other services delivered on site by partners include immigration and citizenship services, ESL classes, tenants’ rights clinics, mobile shower and laundry services, a mobile health van, and more. The Community Services Manager negotiates, prepares, manages, and monitors contracts and agreements with service providers and community agencies, ensuring effective program delivery and inter-agency coordination.  

This position also provides leadership to inter-departmental and inter-agency collaborative projects including the OYE Latinx Youth Conference, the Redwood City/San Mateo County Toy and Book Program, the bi-annual San Mateo County Homeless One Day Count, and other critical community projects as they arise.

• Observes safe work methods and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required

• Maintains public facilities, shop and garage areas, storage sites, and other work areas in a clean and orderly condition, including securing equipment at the close of the workday.

• Maintains accurate logs, reports, and records of work performed and materials and equipment used.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: 

Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade. 

Experience: One (1) year of experience in construction, maintenance, and/or repair of parks and/or related facilities is desirable. 

Licenses and Certifications: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Class B Driver’s License by time of appointment; possession and maintenance of Qualified Applicator certificate issued by the State of California.

Benefits Overview:

Retirement:  The City is a part of the CalPERS retirement plan and does not contribute to Social Security. Classic employees – 2% @55 formula, highest 3-year average compensation PEPRA employees – hired after 1/1/13 or Classic employees who have experienced a 6- month break in service are eligible for a 2% @ 62 formula, highest 3-year average compensation

Sick Leave: 96 hours of sick leave per year. 

Vacation: Employees can earn 120 hours a year

THE POSITION

Tri-City is now actively recruiting for a Clinical Supervisor I or II to lead the MHSSA Grant Team within Tri-City's Child & Family Clinic. This position is a part of a newly federally funded MHSSA Grant Team set to end in December 2026  The Clinical Supervisor I/II position will report to the Clinical Program Manager and will supervise a four staff including Clinical Therapists and Mental Health Specialists.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Collaborate with grant partners, assisting with partner meetings and meeting all grant requirements, i.e. data gathering, service implementation, maintaining ongoing collaboration and participating in trainings);

• Provide individual and group supervision to MHSSA Grant staff including clinicians and mental health support workers; train on Department of Mental Health documentation & review documentation to ensure compliance;

• Will provide guidance to subordinates on Agency philosophy, goals, objectives, policies and procedures through casework conferences, staff meetings, and work review;

• Will participate in creating programs that will increase access to mental health services in locations throughout the community that are easily accessible for students and their families;

• Create and foster partnerships with the local school districts, County Office of Education and local charter schools;

• Work directly with or work with staff who work directly with at high-risk youth, foster youth, youth who identify as LGBTQ+, and youth who have been suspended or expelled from school and their families to provide culturally inclusive and relevant mental health services such as early intervention, suicide prevention, drop-out prevention, evidence based mental health practices and the development and coordination of service plans to address ongoing needs;

• Will assist and participate in the development and coordination of in-service training and staff development programs;

• Will analyze existing caseloads and forecast resource needs; May also carry a caseload;

• Will implement and ensure compliance with mandated documentation and quality assurance requirements to ensure efficient and effective operation of the unit in compliance with federal and state regulations;

• Participate in the monthly on-call rotation and provide crisis interview & assessments; and other duties as assigned.
