Under the direction of the IS Operations & Support Assistant Manager, the Database Administrator architects, tests, implements, maintains, and documents Agency databases. The database administrator collaborates closely with IS development and Agency operations personnel to provide backend database solutions for custom applications, including real-time, scheduling, and settlement programs. The database administrator troubleshoots and provides solutions for database problems.

Level III
This classification supports and maintains the Agency’s database infrastructure and related applications. Administers all database objects, including but not limited to schemas, tables, clusters, indexes, and views. Performs database re-organizations as needed to improve performance. Performs impact analysis of changes to be made to database objects before implementing significant schema changes. Ensures security for all databases by creating roles and associated privileges. Controls and monitors user access to databases. This is a journey-level position and is given minimal direction in job duties and responsibilities.  

Level IV
Architects and designs the Agency’s database infrastructure and ensures the highest levels of availability. Leads database projects to establish new database architectures. Oversees upgrades and implementations of new databases or related software.   Position can perform all lower level requirements and works independently with very little direction May be called upon to provide reports or present to the Agency’s Information Technology Committee. May direct the work of lower classifications.     

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position requires that the incumbent reports for work on time and maintains satisfactory attendance in accordance with Agency policy; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives to meetings and appointments on time; Performs special assignments for the Assistant Manager, Information Services or others as assigned. Responsibilities:
Design, create and maintain all Oracle databases required for development, testing, and production usage. 

Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot Database server software for both stand-alone instances and Real Application Clusters (RAC). Includes patching both Oracle and Windows. 

Administer all database objects, including schemas, tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, constraints, packages, and procedures. This includes creating primary database storage structures (tablespaces) and primary objects (tables, views, indexes). Manage the sharing of resources between applications. 

Troubleshoot problems regarding the databases, servers, applications and development tools. Open technical support cases with support as needed and serve as primary support contact for NCPA. 

Perform capacity planning for all databases. Work closely with IS storage and system administration staff to plan and allocate database system storage. 

Experienced with creating, managing, and maintaining data warehouse technologies.

Perform ongoing monitoring and tuning of all database instances and Windows servers to optimize database performance and reliability. 

Plan and implement backup and recovery of Agency databases. Maintain remote standby databases using archive logs.

Implement and enforce security for all of the Databases through creating and maintaining users and roles, and assigning privileges. Control and monitor user access to the database. 

Perform database re-organizations as required to improve performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database. Modify the database structure from information given by application developers. Gather statistics, create indexes, create or expand tablespaces as needed. 

Perform SQL and PL/SQL tuning and performance monitoring. 

Set up and maintain documentation and standards for database practices and procedures. 

Provide technical support to application developers and database users. 

Perform impact analysis of changes to be made to database objects. Approve and implement/oversee significant schema changes and changes to database design. 

Provide support during non-standard hours (on an as-needed basis, on-call 24x7x365). 

Provide a strategic database direction for the organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Level III:
Education and/or Experience
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field and five or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Level IV: 
Education and/or Experience 
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field and eight or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

DefinitionUnder administrative direction from the Human Services Director, plans, organizes and directs a Division of the Human Services Department which provides specialized family services; and serves as a member of the department's management team.

Class Characteristics
This professional management classification in the Human Services Department may be assigned as Youth and Family Services Administrator, Aging and Family Services Administrator or Family Resource Center Administrator. Incumbent follows general guidelines or professional and administrative standards in accomplishing assignments; it is characterized by the responsibility to develop and implement mental and physical health and other social services that support self-sufficiency, strengthen families, help children achieve their optimal development, and help older adults remain independent and engaged in the community for as long as possible. Supervision for the Family Resource Center Administrator is jointly provided by the Human Services Director and leadership team of the Family Resource Center. Review of work is occasional or on a problem basis with incumbents presenting alternative courses for policy decisions. Routine and unusual problems are handled within the context of general plans, broad policies, budgetary limitations and professional standards. Successful performance is measured by total results. This classification is distinguished from Human Services Director by the latter's responsibility to plan, organize and direct the work of the Human Services Department, and from Clinical Supervisor by the latter's responsibility to supervise counseling or social work staff, to monitor the implementation of professional standards, and to provide training and direction to professional staff and interns. o Services for Well Elderly including: Oversees operations at the Multi-Service Senior Center(s); develops and implements operational policies and procedures; identifies program needs and develops and oversees implementation of a variety of programs and services targeted to the needs of older adults; reviews existing programs for immediacy and applicability, directing revision as appropriate; coordinates programs with other agencies; provides effective problem assessment and client complaint response.
o Services for Frail Elderly including: Develops and implements operational policies and procedures for service coordination among the Friendly Visitor, Companion for Life, Senior Peer Counseling, Para transit, and other City programs; monitors and evaluates program performance; reviews existing programs for immediacy and applicability, directing revision as appropriate; coordinates programs with other agencies; provides effective problem assessment and client complaint response.

The position of Administrative Analyst is a fully qualified journey-level professional classification. Administrative Analyst is distinguished from Management Analyst in that the Management Analyst has a higher level of managerial, budgetary and program administration responsibility. • Outside/Inside plant construction and project management experience and inventory management experience.
• Familiarity with data center industry standards, building codes, and safety standards.
• Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of fiber optic engineering principles with OSP job-related functional areas to include general best practices, procedures, and industry standards.
• 5 years or more experiences working in mission critical environments (e.g., airports, utilities, telecommunications carriers, etc.) requiring coordination across multi-disciplines for delivering a common goal.
• 5+ years mission critical Data Center operations experience.

• 5+ years' experience with Outside Plant cabling (OSP) & Inside Plant cabling (ISP), structured cabling systems.
• Experience coordinating with GIS teams to ensure as-builts are reflected in existing mapping tools.
• Experience working with GIS teams to document all fiber paths, terminations, and splices for all cabling projects.

Salary Information:
The actual salary shall be determined by the final candidate's qualifications and experience. The below salary ranges include an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable pay.

Salary range for this classification is: $130,515.84 - $159,017.04 annually

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Cyber Security: monitor and maintain security on infrastructure systems including IT security applications and appliances. Recreation Supervisor (Aquatics and Fitness)

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at the forthcoming state-of-the-art aquatic and recreation facility set to open in Summer 2024. The brand-new 49,360 sq ft facility will feature indoor and outdoor lap pools, a zero-entry wading pool, fitness amenities, a gymnasium, a walking track, and ample space for programming and rentals. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for professional recreation duties, encompassing the planning, organization, coordination, and supervision of aquatics and fitness programs at the facility. We are seeking candidates with substantial experience in Aquatics and Fitness, and preference will be given to those holding certifications such as AFO, CPO, LGI, WSI, or other relevant Aquatics and Fitness Certifications.

Responsibilities of the Recreation Services Supervisor include, but are not limited to:

•    Managing and supervising assigned operations to achieve goals within available resources; planning and organizing workloads and staff assignments; trains, motivates and evaluates assigned staff and volunteers; reviews progress and directs and implements changes as needed.

•    Determining work procedures, preparing work schedules, and expediting workflow; studying and standardizing procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.

•    Issuing written and oral instructions; assigning duties and examining work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.

•    Responding to public inquiries about recreation programs made by telephone, correspondence, or during public meetings.

•    Preparing for publication a variety of brochures, calendars, letters, posters, news releases, flyers, and related communications regarding recreation programs.

Requirements

In addition to graduation from a four-year accredited college or university with major coursework in recreation, physical education, social work, gerontology, public administration or another closely related field of study – the candidate will also have three (3) years related paid recreation work experience at a level comparable to Recreation Services Coordinator or similar position with significant experience in the implementation of recreation and human services program or activities. 

Additionally, the candidate should possess a valid California driver’s license or ability to obtain one, and may be required to obtain and maintain a Class B driver’s license. First Aid, American Red Cross Lifeguard  Instructor, CPR, and other specialized certifications may be required based on supervisory assignment.
