The San José Fire Department's (SJFD) core mission is to serve the community by protecting life, property, and the environment through prevention and response. SJFD is a high-volume, all-hazards fire department providing fire suppression and rescue services that protects approximately 200 square miles, Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support services as well as specialized operations including Urban Search and Rescue, Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting, and a Hazardous Material Unit with a Decontamination Unit. SJFD deploys resources from 34 fire stations, protecting areas within city limits and some unincorporated areas of Santa Clara County by contract. This is the trainee level class in the Firefighter series, responsible for becoming proficient in the understanding of lifesaving and firefighting methods within the SJFD. Through a specific program comprised of general and specialized education, focused training including extensive hands-on experience, Firefighter Recruits will learn diverse tasks, policies, procedures and standards within the SJFD. Incumbents will learn techniques in emergency medical services, rescue work, firefighting and other emergency services. Duties may involve considerable physical exertion and potential risk to health and safety. Work is rigidly structured, highly supervised, and incumbents are continuously evaluated and receive feedback regularly. Firefighter Recruits must graduate from the Academy and be appointed to the class of Firefighter in order to retain employment in the job series.

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• United States citizen or legal right to remain in the United States 
• San Luis Obispo County paramedic certificate/accreditation is preferred

• Valid California driver's license with either non-commercial Firefighter Endorsement or Class B commercial license, with driving and operating experience. Benefits

• $86,683 to $105,364 annually
• Non-exempt employees assigned to a 56-hour (average) workweek schedule will receive pay for overtime as defined in the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). All overtime shall be paid at a rate of one and one-half (1 ½) times the regular hourly rate of pay.
• All covered employees hired on or after December 28, 2012, who are not defined as “new members” under the Public Employees Pension Reform Act (“PEPRA”) will be covered by the 3% @ 55 retirement formula and the 36 highest consecutive months’ final compensation provision.  All covered employees hired on or after January 1, 2013, and who are defined as “new members” under PEPRA will be covered by the 2.7% at 57 retirement formula and the 36 highest consecutive months’ final compensation provision. 
• Regular employees, after completion of their probationary period, shall be eligible for the Health Care Reimbursement Program. Eligible employees receive a credit of $1300 each January 1.
• For all regular employees working full time, the District will pay 85% of the premiums currently in effect for employee and dependent coverage for the lowest cost plan available to District employees offered through the PERS system.
• For all regular employees working full-time, the District will pay 85% of the premiums for employee and dependent coverage for the lowest-cost dental plan.  In the event the employees elect a higher cost coverage, the employees shall pay the increased cost for that plan.
• A Group Life Insurance Plan will be provided with a $25,000 life insurance policy for each unit member, a $1,000 policy for each employee's spouse, and a $1,000 for each employee's dependent under the age of 21.  The CCSD will pay the full monthly premium for each unit member, spouse, and dependent children.
• Covered employees assigned to a 56-hour average workweek schedule shall accrue 4.31 hours of vacation leave biweekly (112 hrs/yr) from the date of hire to sixty (60) months of service.
• Each full-time employee, assigned to a 56-hour average workweek, shall accrue sick leave from the date of employment at the rate of 6.4 hours per 14-day payroll period (based on 120 hours per year times the conversion factor of 1.4).
• In lieu of time off on holidays, covered employees assigned to a 56-hour workweek shall accrue 5.92 hours of holiday leave per 14-day payroll period for a total of 154 hours per year (based on 110 hours per year times the conversion factor of 1.4). 
• The District shall provide covered employees with an annual boot or safety shoe allowance of $250, payable in July of each year.

The City of Berkeley is now accepting applications for the position of Health Services Program Specialist! In this role, you will plan and manage a specialized health program. Program-planning activities will include development of procedures for operation and evaluation and fiscal and budgetary administration. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Under the administrative direction of the Ports Finance and Administration Division, the Information Systems (IS) Director plans, directs, and coordinates information system operations and activities for the Port of San Francisco. This includes overseeing system design, development, and implementation, as well as coordinating data and information systems across departments. The IS Director is responsible for the operation and maintenance of these systems.

The Port is in the process of replacing several business-critical systems in the next five years, including real estate and work order management systems.  The IS Director will lead these efforts, requiring the creation of a systems strategic plan that aligns different systems with the Port’s primary business needs while integrating with citywide financial and payroll systems.  This plan will involve collaborating with business divisions to identify and prioritize system requirements, such as vacancy, profit and loss, and common area expense allocation reports for the real estate portfolio, as well as berthing management systems for various visiting ships and boats.

The IS Director will also identify necessary business division process changes and establish short- and long-term deliverables. This position oversees two distinct functions: an applications group responsible for implementing and maintaining technology applications tailored to the Port’s needs, and an infrastructure group that ensures a stable and secure environment for desktop and mobile devices.

The essential duties of IS Director include the following:

• Develops and implements the strategic systems plan for the Port.
• Leads the IS division, building capacity and supporting the infrastructure and business applications teams.
• Plans and directs the day-to-day information systems activities for the Port, including application and infrastructure support, desktop administration and IS Help Desk support services.
• Performs continuous evaluation and assessment of all activities, providing timely reports to upper management. 
• Develops and manages the IS budget, including project management and hardware/software procurement.

The Human Services Department (HSD) delivers and supports services by forging long-term community partnerships; engaging with and building the capacity of the community to do its own problem- solving; and leveraging financial and volunteer resources. 

The Aging and Family Services Division (AFS) of HSD specifically supports older residents and their caregivers to live active, healthy lives in the Tri-City community. With input from local, older adults (age 55 years+) as our guide, the AFS team provides a continuum of supportive services, from health promotion activities to home-based end of life care. AFS has a Senior InfoLine that is answered in 4 languages (Farsi, English, Spanish and Chinese) that is often an entry point.

DefinitionUnder administrative direction from the Human Services Director, plans, organizes and directs a Division of the Human Services Department which provides specialized family services; and serves as a member of the department's management team.

Class Characteristics
This professional management classification in the Human Services Department may be assigned as Youth and Family Services Administrator, Aging and Family Services Administrator or Family Resource Center Administrator. Incumbent follows general guidelines or professional and administrative standards in accomplishing assignments; it is characterized by the responsibility to develop and implement mental and physical health and other social services that support self-sufficiency, strengthen families, help children achieve their optimal development, and help older adults remain independent and engaged in the community for as long as possible. Supervision for the Family Resource Center Administrator is jointly provided by the Human Services Director and leadership team of the Family Resource Center. Review of work is occasional or on a problem basis with incumbents presenting alternative courses for policy decisions. Routine and unusual problems are handled within the context of general plans, broad policies, budgetary limitations and professional standards. Successful performance is measured by total results. This classification is distinguished from Human Services Director by the latter's responsibility to plan, organize and direct the work of the Human Services Department, and from Clinical Supervisor by the latter's responsibility to supervise counseling or social work staff, to monitor the implementation of professional standards, and to provide training and direction to professional staff and interns. THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for an individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Adult Full-Service Partnership (FSP). The Clinical Therapist I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community with moderate to severe behavioral health clients. The Clinical Therapist will report to a Clinical Supervisor.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high acuity clients.

• Within scope of authority, assesses, diagnoses, and treats a variety of clients with mental health disorders; collaborates with clients and creates individualized treatments plans according to client’s needs and circumstances.

• Initiates and conducts individual, group, and family counseling and biopsychosocial therapy sessions utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities; provides case management services in the office and in the field.

• Performs routine and emergency intake evaluations according to Authority procedure;
  completes appropriate forms and documents relating to the intake process; and prepares medical and demographic case history for use in diagnosis.
