The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently seeking one full-time Animal Care Technician.  Under general supervision, Animal Care Technicians assist in the daily maintenance, feeding and care of animals housed in the county’s animal care facility including those subject to quarantine, injured or ill; assist with euthanizations; provide information to the public regarding lost or stray animals; assist with licensing, pet adoptions and community volunteer programs; and perform related work as assigned.  This class is a working level class in the animal care series. 

Animal Care Services is a division of the Sheriff's Department.  Animal Care Services provides services for the unincorporated areas of Yuba County and is located in Olivehurst, California.  Animal Care Services care for lost animals, injured and abandon animals, and a provide variety of services that protect both citizens and animals. THE POSITION:

The City of San Rafael is recruiting for a Child Care Director.  Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, this position will perform responsible work in administering and managing a state-funded preschool program.  The incumbent in this position will independently oversee the program and staff at Pickleweed Preschool located in East San Rafael. 

This position performs the following essential job duties: 

• Assist with the establishment of the program budget
• Hire, train, and supervise staff
• Supervise timely completion of annual ECERS
• Supervise completion of DRDP assessments twice annually
• Supervise timely completion of parent surveys
• Supervise timely completion of two parent conferences annually
• Supervise timely ongoing child portfolios
• Supervise and implement systems for creating and maintaining regular written child observations
• Complete annual June 1st report to Department of Education
• Schedule staff and ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained
• Facilitate parent nights for families four times per year
• Liaison with parents and school districts
• Function as classroom instructor
• Approve Child Care Instructor II curriculum and plans
• Organize regular staff meetings
• Oversees referrals of children for assessment and special services
• Complete annual written evaluations of all staff
• Perform other duties as required.

San Mateo Medical Center is seeking an experienced Surgery Scheduling Specialist for a Full-Time, Extra-help position for the Surgery Department. The Surgery Scheduling Specialist provides technical, complex and specialized administrative support to surgeons and patients scheduled for surgery, which includes interaction with operating room staff and patients; handles multiple competing priorities; interacts with diverse customer groups; handles multiple patient-related tasks such as tracking patient financials to ensure information is correctly entered; and moves patients from the clinic to the operating room, including all pre-operative processes necessary for the patients prior to surgery, pre-op process sheets and clinic schedules, data entry of items into the operative database, financial reconciliation, and post-op order sets, and may have some responsibilities for ordering supplies or equipment.
 
The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent communications skills, including the ability to communicate complex medical terminology to a variety of people with varying levels of medical knowledge. In addition, they would possess skills in conflict resolution, and problem solving. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with challenging patients, and patients who may have a language or communication barrier. This position will require attention to detail, and therefore the ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
 
NOTE: The ability to speak, read and write in fluent English and Spanish is preferred for this position.
 
 Duties for this position may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Tracking patient financials to be sure they are correctly entered.
• Scheduling patients in the procedure clinic.  
• Updating the pre-op process sheet and clinic schedule in the computer.
• Entering data into the operative database.
• Interfacing between the Operating Room and Surgeon.
• Ability to schedule patients using the OR manager program.

Occupational Therapist II is the experienced journey level class in this series. San Mateo Medical Center and its clinics are currently seeking well-qualified candidates for Physical Therapist II to provide outpatient and/or inpatient services at San Mateo Medical Center - Main Campus in San Mateo, CA. These positions would provide outpatient and/or inpatient services physical therapy evaluations and treatments for a variety of orthopedic and neurologic conditions.

Physical Therapists manage patients with a wide range of diagnoses, chronic and acute, and are part of a dynamic treatment team. In addition, Physical Therapists identify patient challenges and develop goals and a care plan with reasonable outcomes for the individual's life/work settings. Daily opportunities are created in this assignment through the variety of illnesses/injuries seen in our patient population.

Physical Therapists work at SMMC as part of a County rehabilitation program, which provides evaluation, education and treatment. The therapeutic program at SMMC is oriented toward inpatients and outpatients with acute and chronic problems while providing therapy to inpatients with a need for long or short-term rehabilitation.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of one year of work experience providing care in an outpatient setting with an interest in covering inpatient when the census justifies. Ability to work weekends and/or holiday coverage when necessary is also strongly preferred. Under close supervision, incumbents enforces State and County laws regarding stray, dangerous, rabid, nuisance and unwanted domestic animals; investigates complaints; patrols assigned areas; captures animals; removes dead animals from public and private properties; assist in feeding and cleaning animal enclosures; assist with euthanizations and disposal of animals in a humane and prescribed method and performs other duties related to humane animal protection and control; performs related work as assigned including assisting the public with drop off, pick up and adoption of animals as necessary.  This is a working level class in animal control, responsible for enforcing applicable regulations in a limited public officer capacity. Successful performance of the work requires skill in dealing with the public in difficult situations as well as a willingness to handle animals that may be injured or ill.
