Examples Of Duties

The selected candidate will perform duties, which will include but are not limited to:

• Conduct regular inspections of airport facilities to ensure safety and proper functioning.
• Maintain overall appearance of airport grounds and facilities, including controlling weeds and trash pick-up.
• Operate a variety of motor vehicles such as utility trucks, pickup trucks, sweeping machines, boom and scissor lifts, tractors, skid steers, forklifts and other related equipment.

• Complete work orders and daily reports as directed to accurately reflect activities performed.
• May be required to be on-call and/or respond to airport maintenance emergencies after hours.

The Department of Transportation (DOT) is seeking to fill 16 full-time Maintenance Assistant positions.

The Maintenance Assistant total salary range is $24.74 to $31.56 hourly or $51,459.20 to $65,644.80 annually . The actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates' qualifications and experience.

The Infrastructure Maintenance Division of DOT is looking to fill 16 full-time vacant positions. These positions perform work in the maintenance and repair of concrete, pavement, sewers, landscaping, traffic signs, and traffic markings. Duties include digging holes, trenches, and ditches. They also operate a wide range of hand, mechanical, and power tools, as well as a variety of light and heavy vehicles, trucks, and equipment relevant to work performed, ensuring compliance with safe working practices. Maintenance crews provide services seven days a week. Individuals in this classification may be required to work alternate work shifts, including grave and swing, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call.

The City of Sausalito Police Department is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Police Community Service and Evidence Technician. This vital role supports our mission to maintain public safety and maintaining evidence, as well as enforcement of parking rules and regulations

This is a journey-level non-sworn classification in the Police Department that performs the full range of duties related property and evidence as well as assists the patrol officers with minor evidence collection, reporting writing and responding to related calls for service as needed to effectively provide police services. THE POSITION

Under supervision of the Public Works Manager, the Maintenance Worker I performs entry level unskilled, semi-skilled, or skilled labor in construction, maintenance, and related service activities applied to the areas of general landscaping, grounds maintenance and street maintenance.

 TYPICAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Grounds Maintenance:  Operate mowers and other equipment and tools for purposes of cutting grass, trimming trees and shrubs, and planting and transplanting flowers, bulbs, shrubs, and trees.
• Storm Prevention Maintenance:  Assist in cleaning ditches, culverts, and storm drains.
• Street Maintenance: Assist in repainting of pavement markings, basic pothole, and street repair; installation and repair of street signs and markers; mixing and application of Class III pesticide materials.
• Vehicle/Equipment Maintenance:  Assist in the care, maintenance and cleaning of vehicles, tools, and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

The general knowledge of basic construction methods, materials and terminology, standard hand tools, light equipment, and light vehicles; general knowledge of basic safety precautions and practices necessary in working with hand tools, light equipment, and vehicles; general knowledge of basic methods and practices involved in the care of shrubs, trees and flowers. Ability to learn technically complex construction and maintenance procedures in water systems, streets, parks and building maintenance; use hand and power tools; perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time under inclement weather conditions; work alone or with small groups.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Possession of a valid California driver's license and ability to maintain a satisfactory driving history.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

Completion of high school or its equivalent, or completion of a trade or vocational school.  Some directly related experience is desirable.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Monthly Salary: $4,855 to $6,269 per month. Placement within the range will be based upon the selected candidate’s experience and salary history.

DEFINITION

• OPERATOR I (COLLECTION)
  Under general supervision or direction, the Operator I (Collection) is responsible for the overall operation of the wastewater collections system, which includes the repair and maintenance of the sewer collection system and pump stations.
   
• OPERATOR II (COLLECTION)
  Under general direction, supervises the operation of the Collections System of the Wastewater Treatment Plant on a designated shift to ensure processing and discharge of wastewater which complies with performance standards of State regulatory agencies; perform any combination of tasks involved with inspection, construction, repair, and preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance of sanitary personnel; prepares logs and other records; performs maintenance tasks as required and other related duties as required.
   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION REQUIREMENTS

The City of Simi Valley has a hiring opportunity for an Inventory Support Specialist.  This position is a key team member in the Sanitation Services Division of Public Works.  An Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing inventory levels, conducting audits, and maintaining accurate records. Engineering Technician I
This is the entry-level class in the paraprofessional engineering technician series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents with basic technical engineering experience perform work such as responding to inquiries and complaints, maintaining engineering records, performing basic engineering calculations, performing field observations and surveys, researching engineering topics, assisting in the review and issuance of permits, and updating maps and drawings, in addition to performing office and field work related to assigned engineering and transportation projects and programs. Positions at this level usually perform most of the duties required of the II level, but are not expected to function at the same skill level and usually exercise less independent discretion and judgment in matters related to work procedures and methods. Engineering Technician II
This is the journey-level class in the paraprofessional engineering technician series. Incumbents perform the full range of technical work in all of the following areas: field observations and surveys, researching engineering topics, review and issue of permits, and updating maps and drawings, in addition to performing office and field work related to assigned engineering and transportation projects and programs. Positions at this level are distinguished from the I level by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned, working independently, and exercising judgment and initiative. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. This class is distinguished from the Senior Engineering Technician in that the latter is responsible for technical and functional supervision of lower-level engineering technician staff and performs the most complex duties assigned to the series.
