Under general supervision of the Inspection and Neighborhood Preservation Manager, the Neighborhood Preservation Officer seeks public compliance with Municipal Code sections, ordinances, and resolutions in such areas as planning, zoning, signs, community nuisance, business license, and related areas; and performs other duties as assigned. The incumbent will have a broad range of knowledge and independence within general parameters in the application of field investigations, evidence collection and violation resolution in the enforcement of municipal regulatory processes.

Examples of Duties Include:

• Investigates reported violations of municipal codes, ordinances, and resolutions
• Seeks abatement of violations through education and voluntary compliance or through direct enforcement activities including the issuance of infraction citations
• Educates the public regarding requirements
• Conducts field inspections to verify violations; and gathers supporting evidence
• Prepares reports regarding violations
• Prepares and gives presentations for Administrative Hearings, Planning Commission, City Council or courts of law

ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Redwood City invites you to apply for the position of High School or College Summer Inter for the Community Development Department. This employment opportunity is excellent for a well- organized person seeking some summer work experience and getting exposure to government and specifically to work in Community Development. The primary responsibility of this position is to help with data entry and document preparation. The position will also be able to shadow planners and building staff on counter duties, attend meetings and assist staff on planning projects as schedules permit.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the County-wide classification of Senior Accounting Technician. The current vacancy exists within the Treasurer – Tax Collector’s Office. About the Position

Position is responsible for a wide variety of recreation activities, including supervising Youth Center gym rentals and scorekeeping for adult and youth sports leagues (softball, basketball, flag football soccer, bocce ball, kickball, corn hole). Responsibilities during scorekeeping will include head on site supervisor, set up and cleanup of facility or field, maintain score and game time. Receives general supervision from a full-time Recreation Department staff member; may work under functional supervision of a Program Coordinator as assigned.

Schedule will vary depending on sports season; mornings, nights, and weekends as scheduled. Monday-Friday between hours 5:00pm-10:30pm, and weekends as scheduled.

Essential Duties

• Works directly with the public.
• Serves as site or program supervisor.
• Directs program participants as appropriate.
• Performs site maintenance duties.
• Serves as field or gym supervisor.
• Maintains accurate score and game time. 
• Uses and maintains recreation equipment.

About the Position

Positions in this classification perform work in the organization and implementation of a wide variety of recreation activities. 

The work schedule will be Monday-Thursday 4:00pm-9:00pm but may vary based on the needs of the City.

The Program Coordinator classification is the top-level position in the Recreation Leader Series.  Advancement from Recreation Leader Level II to Program Coordinator requires 500 hours of work experience at Recreation Leader Level II, or equivalent experience.

May provide functional supervision to a Recreation Leader I or II as assigned.  Receives general supervision from a full-time Recreation Department staff member.

Essential Duties

• Provide evening customer support, which includes front desk coverage at the Adult Community Center, processing registrations and payments, processing refunds and transfers, answering phone, contacting customers through emails and calls.

• Room set ups and break downs.

• Assist with program marketing including social media and flyers.

This vacancy is specifically for the Field Operations CSO position.

The City of Foster City is looking for a dedicated and responsible individual to join the Police Department as a Senior Community Services Officer. This position requires mature judgement and discretion and is given specialized training. We are seeking highly skilled individuals with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Under general supervision, this position supplements administrative staff and provides support for sworn staff in police operations. There are four main assignment areas for the position, but currently there is only one vacancy in Field Operations.

Field Operations Assignment:
Performs vehicle abatement duties, provides parking enforcement, performs evidence collection and processing in accordance with departmental procedures, prepares police and operational reports. Responds to subpoenas as necessary. Handle a variety of department fleet maintenance and equipment maintenance duties; run errands in support of department operations, and other duties as assigned.

Education and Training Guidelines:
Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way would be:

Education:  A high school diploma or equivalent with courses in office administration or specialized job training, with undergraduate college course work, specialized administrative or law enforcement education and/or training. An associate degree is desirable.

Experience:  Two (2) years of full-time experience using computers, telephones, radios and other modern office equipment and programs including preparing, compiling and distributing records, budgets, reports and statistical information. Prior experience in Property/Evidence is desirable.

Licenses and Certifications: Possession of a valid California Class C Driver’s License and a good driving record.

Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed for relevant education, experience, training and other job related qualifications. Based upon a review of employment applications, a limited number of the qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the examination process. 

The process will consist of an Oral Panel Interview. An eligibility list will be established from those who pass the examination process with a score of 70% or higher. Current and future vacancies may be filled from this list. The list will remain in effect for at least one year unless exhausted sooner. 

The department will invite the most qualified candidates from the eligibility list to a final department interview. Applicants selected for a Departmental interview must complete a background investigation which includes a polygraph and fingerprinting. After a conditional job offer, applicants must also complete a psychological examination and pre-employment medical examination.

The City of Half Moon Bay is recruiting for a Director of Community Development who will be responsible for managing the City's activities associated with planning, building, code enforcement, inspection, public works maintenance, administration and operational direction to the Community Development Department, the Director is responsible for ensuring a seamless permitting process.  The Director advises the City Manager and/or Assistant City Manager on matters pertaining to the departmental functions.

A Dance Instructor (Program Specialist) will plan, prepare and instruct recreation activities. Activities may include art, cooking, dance, pre-school program and other program areas. Programs are designed for children ages 4-17 (primarily 5-12) years of age.

Dance programs may include ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, ballroom, folkloric, salsa, and rhythmic international styles.

• Develop and submit lesson plans including class content and material needs.
• Lead organized activities to develop and strengthen youth academic, recreational, and social skills.
• Plan lessons and activities so they are appropriate to students with various abilities.

General supervision is provided by a program coordinator or Recreation Supervisor. The Program Specialist may supervise a part-time aide and/or "counselor in training" in a classroom environment in daily activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age
• Different program areas will have different skills and knowledge requirements for the position; check with Recreation Supervisor. (For example: 6 ECE unites required for pre-school instructor)
• One school year teaching experience
• At least one year's experience working with children in an academic setting
• Must be willing and able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required

REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT

• Must be able to handle sensitive and/or stressful situations or information with tact, discretion and significant awareness of confidentiality
• Must effectively communicate with adults and children from a variety of cultural backgrounds
• Willingness to comply with suspected child abuse reporting (11166.5 PC)
