Valley Water is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the Strategic Programs Administrator position within the Office of Integrated Water Management reporting to the Assistant Chief Executive Officer. The Strategic Programs Administrator serves as a strategic right-hand to the Assistant CEO helping to develop and maintain key agency-wide processes and procedures and oversee strategic projects and special initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of expertise in project management, financial analysis, and policy development. The position works closely with the Chief of Staff to the Chief Executive Officer and will regularly coordinate with the senior leadership team. This position may lead and participate in the work of staff and consultants, both internally and externally.
 
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of public sector administration and strategic planning best practices and will be skilled in generally accepted research methodologies. They will be able to lead diverse groups, establish trust and credibility with co-workers and the public and have the ability to create and achieve "win-win" solutions to problems and conflicts. Strong written and verbal communications skills are essential in this position.

 Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee a range of complex analytical and administrative projects, identify key issues, assist in setting and establishing priorities, and propose solutions in alignment with agency goals and objectives.
• Evaluate and develop appropriate policies and procedures to address regulations, legislation, and projects that impact the strategic goals and direction of Valley Water.
• Develop, recommend, and implement strategies, policies, and procedures to protect and promote Valley Water’s interests; prepare long-range plans for operations including forecasting financial needs and preparing budgets; monitor the financial integrity of assigned programs; and identify opportunities to enhance financial strength.
• Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings to staff, management, and the Board, other agencies, local, State and Federal elected officials, and their staff, and prepare comprehensive reports for Valley Water staff, management, and the Board.
• Interact extensively with management, senior technical, legal, and policy staff and elected officials including other water agencies, business groups, regulatory, and governmental agencies, and environmental groups.

THE POSITION OF BODY WORN CAMERA PROGRAM MANAGER

Is a vital non-sworn position that manages the Body Worn Camera Program and assists members of the Police Department with managing body worn camera equipment, the assignment of the devices, replacing worn/and or damaged equipment, assists with training the police officers who wear them and assist in the maintenance of body worn camera equipment. The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently recruiting for two full-time Animal Care Services Officer. Under close supervision, incumbents enforces State and County laws regarding stray, dangerous, rabid, nuisance and unwanted domestic animals; investigates complaints; patrols assigned areas; captures animals; removes dead animals from public and private properties; assist in feeding and cleaning animal enclosures; assist with euthanizations and disposal of animals in a humane and prescribed method and performs other duties related to humane animal protection and control; performs related work as assigned including assisting the public with drop off, pick up and adoption of animals as necessary.  This is a working level class in animal control, responsible for enforcing applicable regulations in a limited public officer capacity. Successful performance of the work requires skill in dealing with the public in difficult situations as well as a willingness to handle animals that may be injured or ill.

Essential Duties

What you will do:  

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
 
Feeds, cares for, evaluates behavior, adopts, redeems, and performs euthanasia on impounded animals.
 
Receives animals at the Shelter, isolating those showing signs of disease from healthy ones.
 
Vaccinates animals as they are received and administers medicine under instructions from a veterinarian; prepares identification collars and places on animals for accurate records.
 
Responds to questions from the public about animal breeds, temperament and adoptions;  advises public on appropriate choices for adoption and the proper care, treatment and control of animals.
 
Cleans, disinfects and maintains kennels and kennel area; performs dishwashing and laundering tasks.
 
Maintains a computerized log and record of all animals at shelter.
 
Reports any animals exhibiting symptoms of ill health or communicable disease.
 
Maintains inventories and supplies of food, medicines and controlled drugs, completing the necessary forms.

Assists in supervising volunteers.
 
Lifts and loads animals weighing up to seventy-five pounds.
 
Performs related tasks as required.

The Veterinary Technician will assist in the care of animal patients at the City’s animal shelter.
