Job Description

This position performs preventive, routine and emergency maintenance and repair of a variety of heavy and light industrial and marine equipment, related systems and components. The incumbent will operate precision equipment and respond to trouble calls associated with the Port's ferry terminal systems, boats, sewer pumps and other Port related equipment. The nature of this work requires sustained physical effort frequently under adverse weather conditions and/or working in confined spaces. The incumbent may be required to work alternative shifts in order to do tide-dependent work.

Nature of Work: Some positions may involve exposure to adverse physical and working condition and lifting objects weighing in excess of 70 pounds. Incumbents will be required to work varying hours and/or shifts, including weekends, evening and holidays in a 24 hour/7 days-a week operation.

Salary Information
The salary range for Maintenance Worker II is $64,604.80- $78,582.40.
Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates' qualifications and experience.The Department of Public Works is seeking to fill a Maintenance Worker I position in the HVAC Shop located at the Central Service Yard within the Facilities Management Division. The Maintenance Worker I will support the basic preventative maintenance of the air conditioning work group. This position reports directly to the Air Conditioning Supervisor for various daily assignments. Working under immediate supervision and working with HVAC Staff and/or independently in mechanical rooms and on rooftops would be a regular occurrence.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

• Performs preventive maintenance functions on Exhaust Fans, HVAC Package units and Air Handlers.
• Clean HVAC Cooling Towers and Mechanical Rooms.
• Install V-belts on HVAC Equipment.
• Uses general carpentry, mechanical and hand tools such as power saws, hand saws, drills, pliers, wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, ladders and other tools and equipment.
• Installs air filters in various types of air conditioning equipment.
• Cleans aluminum finned condenser and evaporator coils.
• Performs minor semi-skilled carpentry and plumbing repair work.
• Maintains database records of their daily work with the Departments inventory management system.

This position may require working some weekends and/or holidays. Ability to perform the essential functions of this position will be determined by a post-offer medical examination conducted by City of San Jose Employee Health Services.

The HVAC SHOP maintains all City-Wide Facilities, including Police Buildings. The San Jose Police Department requires all civilians working at their facilities pass a background check and obtain a Civilian Police Badge. The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to provide highly complex professional work in the planning, management and oversight of construction and rehabilitation projects and programs. The Asset Management Division, along with the Real Estate Development Division, are part of SCCHA’s Real Estate Department.  The team working in Real Estate is mission oriented, dynamic and collaborative. The team works closely together to creatively develop new affordable housing as well as preserve existing assets.

This position requires extensive knowledge of construction management and/or rehabilitation of affordable housing properties, development and monitoring of public project budgets, procurement and solicitation methods and professional service and contract administration in regulations, principles, practices, methods, and procedures of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), tax-exempt bonds, Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and other affordable housing funding programs.

The Air District is currently accepting applications for the position of Principal Staff Specialist in the Strategic Incentives Division (SI) Division. This is an open recruitment for one (1) full-time, represented position.

The Strategic Incentives Division supports the Air District’s mission by implementing incentive programs (grant programs) that achieve voluntary reductions of air pollutants and greenhouse gases, primarily from on- and off-road vehicles and equipment that operate in the Air District’s jurisdiction. In 2023-2024, the SI Division is administering more than $90 million in new revenue to fund programs and projects that replace older diesel-fueled vehicles and equipment such as school and transit buses, marine vessels, locomotives, trucks, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, and other mobile equipment, with newer, cleaner alternatives, including zero-emission technologies, and install refueling/charging infrastructure that supports the accelerated adoption of zero-emissions vehicles and equipment. Other programs administered support the reduction of single-occupancy vehicle, provide cash and mobility options to residents for turning in their older vehicles, and provide grants to reduce pollution from woodburning devices. The Division develops programs to meet community identified strategies for reducing air quality disparities and that benefit the Bay Area’s most overburdened communities.

About you in the position

The Principal Staff Specialist (AB 617 role) in the SI Division will coordinate the division's efforts in bringing greater equity to grant programs through program development, collaboration with other divisions, and engagement with communities under the AB 617 program. With your in-depth knowledge of the Air District’s emission reduction grant programs, you will lead the division's participation in internal and external AB 617 engagement, including communicating the role of the division; analyzing, reporting, and presenting information about air quality improvement incentive programs and mobile sources, participating in community meetings, proposing and guiding discussions on incentive-related emission reduction strategies and actions, developing plans/programs to implement action, and soliciting feedback on strategy implementation. Examples of other tasks include preparing written materials related to grant programs, reports and plans; proposing recommendations for updates to current incentive programs; developing and supporting the development of new programs; assessing impacts of regulatory actions on mobile source categories; presenting to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders; and leading and training staff. This position will require working nights and weekends on occasion to attend community meetings and public events. THE POSITION

The City of Rocklin is looking for two Maintenance Workers to assist in the Parks Division of the Parks and Recreation Department. The Maintenance Worker is a temporary position and incumbents work on an as-needed basis, not to exceed 28 hours per week and up to 999 hours per fiscal year. Temporary employment does not provide any guarantee of continued employment and the City of Rocklin may end the assignment at any time. Temporary employees are not eligible for any other benefits except where required by law, and there is no guarantee of future permanent employment.

An example of duties are:

• Performs flood control measures by clearing creeks of obstructions, keeping drains clean and clear, and preparing sandbags in case of emergency.
• Performs crack sealing of asphalt, and backfilling trenches and excavations on City streets; performs repair, maintenance, and construction of sidewalks, curbs, and gutters.
• Removes concrete, builds forms, pours concrete, and performs other concrete work around City buildings as required.
• Empties trash cans, picks up and removes debris, litter, and trash from parks, athletic fields, trails, and landscaped areas throughout the City; removes graffiti and other unwanted markings from City-owned property.
• Plants, mows, prunes, and maintains turf, trees, shrubs, and plants; clears sites of weeds.
• Performs construction and repair of landscapes and other park facilities such as installing and maintaining signs, installing park structures, and installing and maintaining fences.
• Paints or stains and pressure washes and cleans park amenities and fencing.
• May apply pesticide, herbicide and other pest management treatments to vegetation and landscaped areas.
• Makes minor adjustments on service equipment; maintains tools and equipment in working order.
• Operates trucks, trailers, and other automotive equipment as required.
• Maintains logs of daily activities.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Equivalent to graduation from high school

Three (3) months of experience as a laborer in construction, maintenance, or landscaping work 

Licenses and Certifications

HOURS, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
This position will work approximately 12-20 hours per week.  The candidate will have hands-on learning and work experience at San Rafael City Hall and outreach in the community.

This is a temporary position and hours worked may not exceed 1,000 hours in a fiscal year (July 1 thru June 30).

In accordance with the salary resolution, this position receives no benefits with the exception of Paid Sick Leave and a retirement plan.  

• Temporary employees are entitled to receive sick leave in accordance with California's Paid Sick Leave Law (AB 1522).
• Participation in a retirement plan is mandated by Federal Law and you will be enrolled in the Public Agency Retirement System (PARS):
