The County of Yuba is actively recruiting to fill current vacancies and establish an employment list for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher within the Sheriff’s Department.  The incumbent receives 9-1-1 system sheriff, fire, medical emergency and rescue calls; dispatches sheriff, fire and medical personnel following established procedures; maintains communication with officers in the field to ensure safety and provide back-up and information; provides relief coverage for the records unit; and performs related work as assigned. The Finance Department has an opportunity to staff a Senior Info Technology Technician.  We seek a skilled individual with the competence and experience to address IT challenges confidently and professionally. The successful candidate should have demonstrated skills in the areas of customer focus, communication, teamwork, excellent judgment, and the ability to meet deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities

• Responds to inquiries regarding PC systems and programs at user sites throughout the City
• Troubleshoots hardware and software problems and recommends hardware, software, and configuration changes for City-wide implementation
• Installs desktop/laptop equipment and software; customizes installed software to specific requirements of the user department; reconfigures software to correct problems or conflicts between applications and hardware
• Provide desktop support and troubleshooting to City staff
• Serves as local area network (LAN) administrator; ensures LAN performance, maintains security, creates new users, and installs related hardware
• Installs virus signature files on servers and workstations for use with an anti-virus system; responds to and troubleshoots virus invasions of the City network

Under the administrative direction of the Ports Finance and Administration Division, the Information Systems (IS) Director plans, directs, and coordinates information system operations and activities for the Port of San Francisco. This includes overseeing system design, development, and implementation, as well as coordinating data and information systems across departments. The IS Director is responsible for the operation and maintenance of these systems.

The Port is in the process of replacing several business-critical systems in the next five years, including real estate and work order management systems.  The IS Director will lead these efforts, requiring the creation of a systems strategic plan that aligns different systems with the Port’s primary business needs while integrating with citywide financial and payroll systems.  This plan will involve collaborating with business divisions to identify and prioritize system requirements, such as vacancy, profit and loss, and common area expense allocation reports for the real estate portfolio, as well as berthing management systems for various visiting ships and boats.

The IS Director will also identify necessary business division process changes and establish short- and long-term deliverables. This position oversees two distinct functions: an applications group responsible for implementing and maintaining technology applications tailored to the Port’s needs, and an infrastructure group that ensures a stable and secure environment for desktop and mobile devices.

The essential duties of IS Director include the following:

• Develops and implements the strategic systems plan for the Port.
• Leads the IS division, building capacity and supporting the infrastructure and business applications teams.
• Plans and directs the day-to-day information systems activities for the Port, including application and infrastructure support, desktop administration and IS Help Desk support services.
• Performs continuous evaluation and assessment of all activities, providing timely reports to upper management. 
• Develops and manages the IS budget, including project management and hardware/software procurement.
• Develops and manages the Port’s technology policies, standards, and strategy, ensuring alignment with citywide technology goals and standards.
• Oversees devices and information management, security and compliance, risk management and response, and technology governance.
• Supervises, evaluates, trains, and coach staff and consultants in the performance of their assigned duties, adhering to departmental and city and county standards, policies, and procedures.
• Serves as liaison and representative of the Port with various City and County staff, policy-making officials, and officials of external agencies.

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to provide highly complex professional work in the planning, management and oversight of construction and rehabilitation projects and programs. The Asset Management Division, along with the Real Estate Development Division, are part of SCCHA’s Real Estate Department.  The team working in Real Estate is mission oriented, dynamic and collaborative. The team works closely together to creatively develop new affordable housing as well as preserve existing assets.

This position requires extensive knowledge of construction management and/or rehabilitation of affordable housing properties, development and monitoring of public project budgets, procurement and solicitation methods and professional service and contract administration in regulations, principles, practices, methods, and procedures of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), tax-exempt bonds, Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and other affordable housing funding programs.

What Our Team Is Looking For: 

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience likely to provide the required core competencies may be considered. A typical combination that is qualifying may include: 

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in community or real estate development, construction management, business or public administration or related field; and 
• A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in management of commercial or public construction, rehabilitation, and retrofit activities including two (2) years in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Credentials in the following may substitute combination of education and/or experience: registration as a Certified Construction Manager (CCM); possession of a Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board or as a Professional Engineer by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors; and a valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI).

Possession of a valid California Driver's License and satisfactory driving record at the time of appointment is required as a condition of initial and continued employment only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than the employee's ability to get to/from various work locations in a timely manner, is necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.

The City is seeking a Division Manager to manage all services and activities in the Safety Division of the Human Resources Department. The Safety Manager will report to the Assistant Director of Human Resources and will be responsible for administering the City of San José's extensive safety program, which includes Worker's Compensation, Employee Health Services, Injury and Illness Prevention Programs, City Driving Program, Safety Show Voucher Program, and ergonomics. The County of Yuba is recruiting for both Extra-Help and Full-Time Juvenile Corrections Officers I/II,  in an effort to fill current vacancies and establish an eligibility list. These positions are located on the Tri-County Youth Rehabilitation Campus which falls under the Juvenile Institutions Division of the Yuba County Probation Department. The primary responsibilities of this flexibly staffed position are to: provide care, custody, supervision, and control of youth housed in the secured detention facilities while they are pending legal action or serving a post adjudication commitment; ensure and sustain a safe and secure environment for youth; and coordinate counseling and behavior modification activities associated with the operation of the facilities.

About Detention Services & Yuba County:

Our Campus provides youth detention services to the communities of Yuba, Sutter, and Colusa Counties as well as several contract counties through our Camp Singer program.  We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, and includes the Tri-County Juvenile Hall, Secure Housing Unit, and Maxine Singer Youth Guidance Center (Camp Singer), under a Joint Powers Agreement between the three counties. Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide a comprehensive understanding of technology offerings, implementation constraints, and costing. Ability to propose technology recommendations and solutions by providing a solid and complete justification for each solution.
• Assess the voice and data needs of the Airport, develop Airport technical standards, determine where the cable infrastructure should be installed, and oversee the installation.

Highly Desirable Qualifications:

• Possess a BICSI RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification.
• Be an Outside/Inside Plant specialist. Airport experience preferred.
• Ability to determine the scope, cost, and time for existing and new OSP/ISP projects that are moderate to complex in a matrix environment.
• Outside/Inside plant construction and project management experience and inventory management experience.
• Familiarity with data center industry standards, building codes, and safety standards.
• Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of fiber optic engineering principles with OSP job-related functional areas to include general best practices, procedures, and industry standards.
• 5 years or more experiences working in mission critical environments (e.g., airports, utilities, telecommunications carriers, etc.) requiring coordination across multi-disciplines for delivering a common goal.
• 5+ years mission critical Data Center operations experience.
• 5+ years' Telecom industry experience.
• 5+ years' experience with Outside Plant cabling (OSP) & Inside Plant cabling (ISP), structured cabling systems.
• Experience coordinating with GIS teams to ensure as-builts are reflected in existing mapping tools.
• Experience working with GIS teams to document all fiber paths, terminations, and splices for all cabling projects.

Salary range for this classification is: $130,515.84 - $159,017.04 annually

This position will perform a variety of responsible law enforcement and crime prevention work, including patrolling assigned areas, answering calls and complaints, investigating crimes, serving civil papers, and providing court room security; enforce all federal and state laws and local ordinances related to public safety and welfare.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Performs routine patrol duties, including but not limited to patrolling assigned areas of the County; responding to emergency calls and/or public calls for assistance; investigating disturbances, prowlers, burglaries, thefts, vehicle accidents and other crimes; checking buildings for physical security, etc.

This position performs a variety of work in the monitoring of county, state and federal detainees and maintains the security and safety of inmates and staff.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Performs booking procedures, including receiving, booking and assigning prisoners to cells; performing body searches; fingerprinting, and photographing prisoners, etc.
• Maintains custody of prisoners’ private property.
• Maintains the safe and orderly operation of the County jail facility; monitors security cameras and door warning lights; screens and monitors visitors. Inspects all of inmates’ incoming and outgoing mail and telegrams.
