A Dance Instructor (Program Specialist) will plan, prepare and instruct recreation activities. Activities may include art, cooking, dance, pre-school program and other program areas. Programs are designed for children ages 4-17 (primarily 5-12) years of age.

Dance programs may include ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, ballroom, folkloric, salsa, and rhythmic international styles.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (These duties are a general description and are not all inclusive.)

• Develop and submit lesson plans including class content and material needs.
• Lead organized activities to develop and strengthen youth academic, recreational, and social skills.
• Plan lessons and activities so they are appropriate to students with various abilities.
• Ability to requisition supplies and/or purchasing program supplies within City guidelines
• Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on the activities, camps and events
• Conduct creative and safe class meetings; instruct students on the safe and proper use of supplies, tools, and equipment
• Participate in cleaning and maintaining the facilities and equipment
• Interact professionally and appropriately with parents, students and staff
• Communicate with supervisor regarding classroom needs
• Attend staff meetings and trainings
• Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED

General supervision is provided by a program coordinator or Recreation Supervisor. The Program Specialist may supervise a part-time aide and/or "counselor in training" in a classroom environment in daily activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age
• Different program areas will have different skills and knowledge requirements for the position; check with Recreation Supervisor. (For example: 6 ECE unites required for pre-school instructor)
• One school year teaching experience
• At least one year's experience working with children in an academic setting
• Must be willing and able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required

The Risk Management Program Manager (Program Manager), reporting to the Deputy Director of Human Resources/ Risk Manager, will oversee the following three programs:

Examples Of Duties

Duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Plan, direct, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of the ADA Title I, Leave of Absence, and Workers' Compensation functions and programs, including needs assessment, program design and planning, implementation, evaluation, and regulatory enforcement.
• Write and review policies, procedures, and methods relative to ADA Title I, Leave of Absence, and Workers' Compensation and formulate, recommend, and/or implement actions for program improvement.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.

• A typical way to qualify is three years of progressively responsible professional-level experience in the field of Human Resources within a public-sector environment, specifically regarding ADA in general and Title I specifically, Leave of Absence, Workers' Compensation, and insurance policies.
• Experience should also include at least one year performing supervisory duties.

Knowledge of:

• Principles and practices of public administration, and program management, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Principles, theories, and practices of human resource management relative to the Americans with Disabilities Act, FMLA, Workers' Compensation, Long-Term Disability, etc.
• Public-sector insurance practices and policies.

THE POSITION

Reporting to the Director of Administrative Services, the Management Analyst (Risk Management) provides professional support to risk management programs including: workers' compensation, safety compliance, review and approval of contracts and Certificates of Insurance, risk transfer, and leave and disability administration. 

In addition, you will have the opportunity to coordinate and oversee workers' compensation claims administration including monitoring accepted claims and providing information to claimants, attorneys, and the workers' compensation carrier. You will also serve as a consultant to City departments and employees on Risk Management (workers' compensation, safety, contract insurance) problems and communicate regularly with internal and external parties to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of assigned programs and activities, minimize risk, and advise of claim developments. The County of Yuba is recruiting for both Extra-Help and Full-Time Juvenile Corrections Officers I/II,  in an effort to fill current vacancies and establish an eligibility list. These positions are located on the Tri-County Youth Rehabilitation Campus which falls under the Juvenile Institutions Division of the Yuba County Probation Department. The primary responsibilities of this flexibly staffed position are to: provide care, custody, supervision, and control of youth housed in the secured detention facilities while they are pending legal action or serving a post adjudication commitment; ensure and sustain a safe and secure environment for youth; and coordinate counseling and behavior modification activities associated with the operation of the facilities.

Our Campus provides youth detention services to the communities of Yuba, Sutter, and Colusa Counties as well as several contract counties through our Camp Singer program.  We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, and includes the Tri-County Juvenile Hall, Secure Housing Unit, and Maxine Singer Youth Guidance Center (Camp Singer), under a Joint Powers Agreement between the three counties.
