THE POSITION

Reporting to the Director of Administrative Services, the Management Analyst (Risk Management) provides professional support to risk management programs including: workers' compensation, safety compliance, review and approval of contracts and Certificates of Insurance, risk transfer, and leave and disability administration. 

In addition, you will have the opportunity to coordinate and oversee workers' compensation claims administration including monitoring accepted claims and providing information to claimants, attorneys, and the workers' compensation carrier. You will also serve as a consultant to City departments and employees on Risk Management (workers' compensation, safety, contract insurance) problems and communicate regularly with internal and external parties to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of assigned programs and activities, minimize risk, and advise of claim developments. IT infrastructure: ensuring the network perimeter is protected, investigates security breaches and threats and recommends changes to address security issues; manages processes for operating system hardening, and intrusion detection; manages security configurations for server, database, and application systems; conducts electronic discovery searches, manages reporting on security enterprise tools; manages security software server/client updates, supports the Unit Manager in maintaining the Cyber Security program and policies.
IT/OT/ICS operational technology: Monitor network and security appliances for security breaches, updating firmware, maintaining security patches keeping security policies up to date, and maintaining documentation.

The salary range for Staff Specialist is approximately $76,330.80 - $92,820.00 annually. This amount includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable pay. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates' qualifications and experience.
