What You’ll Do

• Provide excellent customer service for the Fire Prevention and Fire Administration divisions
• Manage calendars of multiple inspectors, schedule inspections, and charge appropriate fees
• Perform a variety of general clerical duties, including filing, photocopying, processing of mail, supply ordering, scanning, and answering a multi-lined telephone system
• Process invoices for payments and enter data/information in the preparation of reports, including setting up of new vendors and reviewing statements
• Assist with website updates
• Process special event permit applications, prepare invoices for permit fees, collect fees, and issue permits
• Provide information and assistance regarding public education to the general public
• Update and maintain a variety of forms
• This position will occasionally lend administrative support to other divisions within the department when needed

What You’ll Do

• Perform skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of diesel and gas-powered apparatus, vehicles, hydraulic systems for aerial ladders, and other like equipment.
• Accept assignments received in the form or oral or written communications.
• Determine the nature and extent of needed repairs, prioritize them, and perform necessary repairs.
• Inspect all department vehicles to ensure they meet proper safety protocols and are in standard working order.
• Maintain all vehicles to ensure safe working order for all employees.
• Perform regular servicing and preventative maintenance on all vehicles and apparatus including performing tune-ups, lube, oil, filter, Inspection, and chassis lubrication.
• Diagnose, service, maintain such things as: fire pumps, relief valves, and other control of plumbing equipment (proper certification required).
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair engines, power train components, transmissions, transfer cases, differentials, hydraulic and pneumatic brake systems, steering and suspension systems, and electrical systems.
• Perform welding and fabricating work when applicable.
• Operate all equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
• Perform routine shop maintenance and clean-up and dispose of hazardous materials according to established procedures.
• Keep records of work assignments for bookkeeping and tracking purposes.
• Potentially respond to unanticipated emergencies to make temporary and/or permanent repairs in the field.

Under direction of a Division Commander and supervision of a Sergeant, relieves sworn police personnel from a variety of non-hazardous tasks and responds to service calls of a non-felonious and non-violent nature, and performs other duties as assigned.

Central County Fire Department (CCFD) serves the Cities of Burlingame and Millbrae and the Town of Hillsborough. The Department serves a population of 66,045 from six fire stations across a service area of approximately 15 square miles. Woodside Fire Protection District offers an exceptional Cadet Program for individuals interested in a career in the Fire Service. Cadets gain hands-on experience participating in training and public service events. Cadets work 24-hour shifts and ride-along on emergency calls.

Woodside Cadets will work and be involved in:

Emergency calls, firefighter training, public education events, fire prevention, station duties, CERPP, CPR/first aid training. They must also meet monthly hour requirements and attend monthly training drills.

The Cadet term begins in July 1st 2024 through June 30th 2025.

Job Description

Under general supervision, the 8562 Counselor, Juvenile Hall, is responsible for the care, custody, safety and welfare of juveniles detained at Juvenile Hall.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to: 

1. Observes behavior of detainees in an assigned living unit; directs detainees in the upkeep of personal hygiene, during mealtimes, and while cleaning the unit; maintains appropriate close supervision over detainees to prevent negative incidents; provides appropriate discipline; consults with supervisors regarding disciplinary problems; conducts regular state mandated security checks of rooms; monitors visiting sessions to ensure the safety and security of detainees and counselors.

2. Inspects windows, locks doors when not in use, and keeps count of all detainees assigned to the unit; administers emergency first aid pending the arrival of medical staff; responds to emergency conditions which may require physically subduing and restraining hostile detainees to ensure the safety and security of the unit and the facilities.

3. Completes incident reports, behavior reports, individual case reports, and other departmental forms and reports; maintains the unit log book to ensure adherence to legal requirements. Maintains and updates electronic databases and case management systems.

4. Conducts ongoing individual and group counseling sessions with detainees by communicating rules, policies, expectations, and consequences; listens and responds to questions, concerns, complaints, and requests; provides assistance in working out problems to assist detainees.

5. Directs leisure time activities; teaches and encourages good sportsmanship.

6. Transports residents to and from various locations; directs and controls residents’ movement to ensure the safety and security of the residents.

7. Facilitates the admittance and release process of residents.

8. Confers with departmental personnel and representatives of outside agencies.

Qualifications

Education:
Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.

License and Certification:
Possession of a valid California driver license.
Possession of a valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate.

Substitution:
Experience as a counselor in a juvenile detention facility or experience involving the organization, detention, or suspension of youth groups in a recreational or correctional program may substitute for up to two (2) years of the education requirement on a year-for-year basis. One (1) year equals thirty (30) semester units or forty-five (45) quarter units.

Position Summary

 

Under general direction of  the Director of Budget and Electronic Revenue, the Electronic Revenue Collection Programs Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily functionality and collecting revenue accurately especially for the AET program and Clipper program.  This position is responsible for leading the daily operations of the District’s toll and electronic fares programs to oversee activities such as contractual requirements, lead new/enhanced system improvements, and resolve current operational issues.  In addition, this position is responsible for actively monitoring the daily transaction processing for transit, tolls, traffic and passenger volumes, revenue, and system budget and cost. The Manager will coordinate and work with other District staff responsible for system maintenance, technical functionality and customer issues to aid in uncovering and addressing system issues before they escalate. This position will identify and suggest program/policy improvements to the AET program and Clipper program.

 

The position is responsible for working with customers, AET technical specialists and contractors, Clipper technical specialists and contractors, accounting staff, regional customer service center (CSC) staff, Clipper Service Bureau (CSB) staff, toll system vendor staff, regional Clipper partner agencies, third party vendors that supply the system hardware and software, bridge customers, contracted customer service center staff, Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) staff, Bay Area Toll Authority (BATA) staff, California and out of state Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and collections agencies to ensure that license plate toll transactions and revenues are being processed effectively and efficiently.In addition, this position will participate in the regional/national toll committees such as California Toll Operators Committee (CTOC), 6C coalition, and IBTTA.

• Collects and analyzes data on various violation collection methods at Golden Gate Bridge and throughout California to ensure Golden Gate Bridge utilizes the most efficient methods
• Develops and monitors budget of the programs

• Monitors cost of system integration and initiates solutions to reduce costs
• Reviews Automatic Electronic Tolling (License Plate/Fastrak) and Clipper data to ensure accurate fares are being collected and analyzes data trends
• Supports District staff responsible for system maintenance, customer issues, and program management, shares information and identifies opportunities to improve toll collection system performance
• Ensures that the District maximizes electronic revenue of tolls and transit fares
• Supports the operations of contracted third party cash payment networks and District Clipper networks including Clipper bus and ferry operations staff
• Knows and follows the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable to his or her job

Minimum Qualifications

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Five years of progressive full-time, recent position-related experience in data analysis, financial analysis, managing customer service operations, collection processing, maximizing revenue collection, or relevant administrative process analysis

Position Summary

Under general direction of the Director of Budget and Electronic Revenue and reporting to the Electronic Revenue Programs Manager, the Electronic Revenue Collection Analyst is responsible for supporting the daily functionality and collecting revenue accurately, especially for the AET program and Clipper program. The District utilizes a regional electronic-based fare system (Clipper) for the Ferry and Bus Systems and administers an All-Electronic Toll (AET) collection system for Bridge tolls. This position is responsible for representing the District and working with a variety of internal and external agency staff and must be able to work with technical specialists, accounting staff, customer service center (CSC) staff, toll system staff, regional Clipper partner agencies, and third parties to ensure that toll and fare payment transaction processing is functioning properly and accurately. Monitors and improves the daily transaction processing for transit, tolls, traffic and passenger volumes, and toll collection rate activities and revenue. Participates in special projects for toll, parking, and electronic revenue programs and resolves operational and functional issues of the Clipper program for the District and proactively resolves customer related issues including system maintenance, customer service functions including direct customer contact, technical functionality and customer issues to aid in uncovering and addressing system issues. Responsible for data trend analysis, budget monitoring, program analysis, reconciliation of financial and programmatic contract issues, and creating/revising the toll collection (traffic and revenue) program reports for management for the electronic revenue program.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements: 
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Public or Business Administration or Accounting related field. Additional qualifying position-related experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis in lieu of the education requirement
• Three (3) to five (5) years of progressive full-time, recent position-related experience in data analysis, financial analysis, managing customer service operations, collection processing, maximizing revenue collection, or relevant administrative process analysis or related experience 

Desirable experience: 
• Ability to work in a fast paced, operational setting, working with teams, and group facilitation skills.
• Background in working with back end technical contractors, operational systems, collections, DMV processing.
• Working knowledge of electronic payment systems and experience managing technical contracts, including the enforcement of performance requirements, identification and resolution of system anomalies, and the ability to perform query development and analysis.
• Ability to work with multiple partners to achieve project goals and address issues.
