Part-time, Temporary/Seasonal (no more than 18 hours per week)

THE POSITION

General Purpose:
This Recreation Aide position will be assigned to the Family Programs area assisting Recreation Leaders in providing support for the After-School Recreation program.
 
Supervision Received and Exercised:
Receive general supervision from a Recreation Coordinator and may receive technical and/or functional supervision from a Recreation Leader or Program Specialist.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this classification.  The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to this class.

• Assist in leading recreation activities in program areas such as preschool, playground, parks, teens, sports, special events, and senior citizen activities.
• Assist in carrying out recreational activities appropriate to a variety of locations such as playgrounds, parks, community centers, pre-school classrooms, school sites, and sports facilities.  
• Assist in leading activities in areas such as arts and crafts, games, sports, music, drama, and nature study.
• Assist in setting up, taking down, and cleaning up recreational facilities; as assigned, open and close facilities as scheduled for use, and secure the facility upon leaving.
• May provide minor first aid to recreation program participants and/or perform related first aid/emergency techniques.
• Exercise precautions necessary to ensure the safety of recreation program participants and spectators.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other City employees and the public using principles of good customer service.
• Set up furniture or equipment for activities scheduled and see that it is in proper condition and is replaced after use.
• Monitor activities of facility users for appropriate and safe conduct.
• Clean up after facility users and set up for subsequent activities; sweep and mop floors as required, empty trash receptacles throughout the facility, as necessary; keep restrooms and kitchen clean and well stocked with paper towels, tissues, etc.
• Collect fees from public swimming pool patrons and aquatics class registrants, and issue pool passes.
• Complete daily attendance and cash receipt report forms.
• Answer the telephone, provide information to callers and write messages, as needed.
• Assist customers at the front counter. 
• Perform general clerical work such as issuing receipts, photocopying, and filing; complete and submit required forms and reports.
• Clean and sanitize workstation and equipment.
• Assist in conducting preschool class activities in areas such as arts and crafts, games, music, or story time.
• Notify appropriate City staff regarding necessary repair and/or replacement of play areas/related equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

*Effective July 2024, this position will receive a 2.5% base salary increase.

THE POSITION

Reporting to the Director of Administrative Services, the Management Analyst (Risk Management) provides professional support to risk management programs including: workers' compensation, safety compliance, review and approval of contracts and Certificates of Insurance, risk transfer, and leave and disability administration. 

In addition, you will have the opportunity to coordinate and oversee workers' compensation claims administration including monitoring accepted claims and providing information to claimants, attorneys, and the workers' compensation carrier. You will also serve as a consultant to City departments and employees on Risk Management (workers' compensation, safety, contract insurance) problems and communicate regularly with internal and external parties to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of assigned programs and activities, minimize risk, and advise of claim developments. This position will also support the City's leave management program.

One (1) year of experience at a level equivalent to the City’s class of Associate Management Analyst or Administrative Analyst.

When assigned to a specific functional area as noted above, additional knowledge and experience in such area may be desirable.

Public sector experience is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, a valid California Class C Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record is required. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Pioneer Community Energy Seeks a 
Senior Manager, Quantitative Analysis and Modeling

The Senior Manager, Quantitative Analysis and Modeling is responsible for organizing, assigning, reviewing and participating in the work of personnel engaged in professional duties related to analysis and modeling, structured product development, portfolio risk management, and integrated resource planning. Duties include:

• Planning, prioritizing, reviewing and participating in the performance of professional analysis and modeling of risk and value around complex transactions and portfolio positions, including structured products, rate analysis and development, and hedging strategies.
• Developing methods and schedules to accomplish assignments, ensuring work is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Developing pricing and calibration models for a variety of products.
• Solving challenging quantitative problems related to setting rates and valuations for structured products.
• Developing Monte-Carlo simulations on a large scale across several variables with relevant coefficients. 
• Performing fast and accurate market risk measurements.
• Conducting complex market and portfolio modeling and analysis of Pioneer’s power supply position to effectively monitor exposure to adverse market changes.
• Coordinating and participating in Pioneer’s integrated resource planning process including providing analysis and input related to production cost modeling from the CPUC, CAISO, IOUs, and CalCCA.
• Creating and implementing measures to benchmark system implementations, enhancements, or modifications by providing documented system specifications, evaluating vendor proposals, and recommending appropriate course of action.
• Developing portfolio dashboard showing key metrics and risk positions.
• Using a variety of computer software programs to prepare reports, graphs and other materials related to energy resources, finance models and customer statistics. 
• Maintaining liaison with regional resource planning or supply agencies; serving on Pioneer committees as required; evaluating proposals in terms of resource costs, availability and consistency with long-term financial projections and resource needs.

Qualified candidates will possess a knowledge of California energy industry and electric power markets including CAISO, CPUC, CEC, and CARB, energy/financial markets and quantitative investment approaches, advanced computer modeling of power supply system operation and cost analysis and have the ability to perform complex professional analytical work in support of a variety of Pioneer’s product structuring and resource planning activities.

Experience:
Ten years of experience in a position with similar duties. 

Training:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in in a quantitative discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, Financial Engineering, Economics, or related field.
