Essential Duties

What you will do:  

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
 
Feeds, cares for, evaluates behavior, adopts, redeems, and performs euthanasia on impounded animals.
 
Receives animals at the Shelter, isolating those showing signs of disease from healthy ones.
 
Vaccinates animals as they are received and administers medicine under instructions from a veterinarian; prepares identification collars and places on animals for accurate records.
 
Responds to questions from the public about animal breeds, temperament and adoptions;  advises public on appropriate choices for adoption and the proper care, treatment and control of animals.
 
Cleans, disinfects and maintains kennels and kennel area; performs dishwashing and laundering tasks.
 
Maintains a computerized log and record of all animals at shelter.
 
Reports any animals exhibiting symptoms of ill health or communicable disease.
 
Maintains inventories and supplies of food, medicines and controlled drugs, completing the necessary forms.

Assists in supervising volunteers.
 
Lifts and loads animals weighing up to seventy-five pounds.
 
Performs related tasks as required.

SELECTION PROCESS:

THE POSITION:

The City of San Rafael Parking Services Department is seeking a full-time Parking Attendant II.  Under direct supervision, this position provides general service and information to the public, is responsible for the upkeep, presentation, and general operations of all City parking areas.

The City of East Palo Alto is seeking qualified candidates for a Building Inspector I/II. Under direct or general supervision, the Building Inspector I/II performs routine to complex inspections at various stages of construction, alterations, and repair of residential, commercial, and industrial building sites to enforce building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and environmental codes, and other governing laws and ordinances. Inspections include basic zoning, grading, fire, and safety regulations to ensure conformance with approved plans, specifications, standards, permits, licensing, and safety standards.

The Building Inspector I/II provides a variety of information to property owners, developers, architects, engineers, and contractors; and performs related duties, as assigned. The Building Inspector II differs from the level I in that is the advanced level classification in the Building Inspector series. The Building Inspector II provides a high level of discretion and independent judgment in performing the full range of routine to complex inspections. Work is normally reviewed upon completion and for overall results. Incumbents also provide lead direction and functional supervision to assigned clerical, technical, and professional staff. The department may hire at either the I or the II level depending on the skills, certifications, and licenses held by candidates in the pool of qualified applicants.

THE POSITION

The Fiscal Analyst I/II/III position at the Glenn County Health and Human Services Agency performs varied and complex professional accounting and financial analysis work relating to various grants and programs; fiscal and contract management; fiscal program analysis and compliance; prepares analytical, narrative, statistical, accounting and financial reports; develops and monitors budgets; prepares financial statements and reports, and related duties as assigned. Fiscal Analyst II is the journey-level classification in the series and is distinguished from the Fiscal Analyst I by the responsibility and working independently with minimal supervision. Fiscal Analyst III is the advanced level in the series, and is distinguished from Fiscal Analyst I/II by the performance of the most complex accounting and analytical work within the assigned department. This position is full-time and scheduled for forty (40) hours.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Provides information for and prepares periodic accounting, fiscal reports, and analysis to internal units, federal, state, and local agencies and/or to private auditing firms as required by governing agencies. 
• Prepares reports and analysis on accounting activities relating to funds, grants and programs. 
• Prepares various financial statements including worksheets, balance sheets, income statements, statements of cash flow, adjusting and closing balance sheets, depreciation schedules, allocation schedules, and cost reports.
• Monitors the status of various grants including analyzing the availability of funds, reviewing expenditures, and ensuring that activities comply with grant regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE:

I - Some professional level accounting or fiscal analytical experience is desirable.

II - At least one (1) year of professional level accounting experience as Fiscal Analyst I in Glenn County, or Two (2) years of professional accounting or fiscal analytical experience in a private or public entity. Incumbents do not automatically promote to Fiscal Analyst II.

III - At least one (1) year of professional level accounting experience as Fiscal Analyst II in Glenn County, or Three (3) years of professional accounting or fiscal analytical experience in a private or public entity. Incumbents do not automatically promote to Fiscal Analyst III. 

EDUCATION:

I/II/III - Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field. Substitution: Additional progressively responsible experience in accounting or financial analysis may be substituted for the required education.
