THE POSITION  Police Officer Trainees will be registered to attend a Basic Police Academy course to meet the minimum required training mandates governed by the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) for entry level Law Enforcement.  Upon successful completion of the Basic Police Academy, Police Officer Trainees are transitioned to a Police Officer safety position, and enter the Field Training Program for Police Officers.    The Redwood City Police Department offers many opportunities for learning and long-term career growth in a city comprised of diverse residential and business communities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Completion of 30 semester units from an accredited college or university (60 units or more is preferred). REQUIRED: Attach a copy of college transcripts to application.

License or Certificate:

• Possession of a valid California driver’s license maintaining a satisfactory driving record.

The City of Woodland Police Department is looking for lateral officer candidates who are currently employed as a California peace officer, have two years of experience and possess a California POST Basic Certificate or are have formerly been employed as a California peace officer, possess a California POST Basic Certificate and have not had more than a three-year break in service as a California Peace Officer. ABOUT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Woodland Police Department is staffed with 72 sworn officers, 18 professional employees, and 8 part-time temporary professional employees. Our staffing is expected to expand in size as the City grows. The Department is managed by a Chief of Police, a Deputy Chief, 3 Lieutenants, 10 Sergeants, and a Police Records Supervisor. The Department has three Bureaus; Patrol, Investigations, and Community Relations. Police Officers are assigned to all Bureaus where they work in various capacities and teams.   Within the Bureaus are many specialty units including K-9, Traffic/Motors, School Resource Officers, Gang Task Force, Detectives, and Homeless Outreach Street Team.  There are a number of collateral duties available to officers including SWAT, Crisis Negotiations Team, Field Training Officer, Honor Guard, Arrest & Control Instructors, Firearms Instructors, Gang Resistance Education, and Training (G.R.E.A.T) instructors, Social Media Team, Recruitment, and Bicycle Patrol. The Department:
The Parks Division provides planning, development, operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of City parks and open spaces. The Recreation Division provides classes and programs for all ages and abilities. The Cemetery Division maintains 33,000 internment sites in a peaceful public park.  
 
The Position:
Providing customer service at Recreation Facility Front Desk (CRC, YAC, Senior Center, Reed & Grant Sports Park, Warburton and ISC Pools). The job responsibilities include data input, processing program registrations, opening and closing the desk reception area and keeping accurate records of daily sales. Daily check in of patrons, adhering to established protocols and ensuring the safety of customers as they enter and exit the facilities. Work assignment shifts will include, days, evenings and weekends.

 As an as-needed employee, this is an "at-will" position and there is no guarantee of hours.  Hours are limited to 999 in a fiscal year or 960 hours in a fiscal year for retired CalPERS annuitants

The Recreation Office Assistant has an emphasis on performing a variety of clerical and customer service duties at a recreation facility.  An incumbent in this classification is responsible for demonstrating a high level of customer service while performing basic clerical duties including financial transactions, maintaining documents, and assisting others.  Assignments are generally limited in scope, contain fairly routine duties, and are performed within a procedural framework established by higher-level employees.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Requirements
• Graduation from high school or possession of a GED; and
• Six (6) months of general clerical or customer service experience; and
• Must be at least 18 years of age at time of application

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATES
• Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license is desirable

The Position

The Case Manager will perform professional and clinical social work with individuals and/or families who are unhoused or housing insecure, and who may have complex social and medical needs including health care, financial assistance, employment opportunities, as well as housing assistance. As a member of the Human Services Department, this position reports to a Clinical Supervisor, under direction of the division manager of Homeless Care and Response (HCR), and is characterized by the responsibility to provide comprehensive psycho- social assessments and develop and implement care plans. These plans may focus on connecting clients  to public benefits, obtaining budgeting skills, accessing medical care, and obtaining more stable living arrangements. The position works within a team of professionals and will be required to work collaboratively with team members and community partners.  In order to perform responsibilities, the Case Manager will be required to conduct site visits in the company of another staff member in the field to locations where homeless persons may reside,  to medical facilities, and other community locations.

Examples of Duties

- Manage a caseload of clients comprised of individuals with complex medical and co-occurring conditions, including SUD, mental illness, or homelessness.
- Conduct comprehensive client assessments to develop appropriate service plans and monitor them closely.
- Assist clients to develop support systems to maintain independent living, self-sufficiency and family stabilization.
- Provide crisis intervention.
- Collaborate with supervisor, team members and other Human Services programs and community agencies.
- Make site visits and provide other community interventions as needed.

The Department’s nationally and internationally recognized programs support thousands of residents throughout their life course, from infants to elders. General Description

As a Mental Health Counselor in the Human Services Department, incumbents will provide a full range of culturally responsive intake assessments, individual, family and group counseling, and crisis intervention services to enhance the mental health of those in need.

The Counselor is part of a larger Human Services team that includes psychologists, nurses, social work case managers, a family partner (peer support specialist), substance use disorder intervention specialists, and interns. Counselors receive continuous clinical training, consultation and professional development opportunities and receive supervision from a Clinical Supervisor.

The current vacancy is for a part-time (20 hours per week) position is the Youth and Family Services (YFS) Division with prorated benefits working with children, youth, and their families.

The Position

The Police Communications Call Taker (Per Diem) receives emergency and non-emergency call for service, performs technical support duties in police department communications, and performs related duties as required. The position requires excellent customer service and communication skills.

The Ideal Candidate 

The successful candidate will possess excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and department staff. Dispatcher and/or Call Taker work experience in a public safety department/agency is highly desirable.
