The West Contra Costa Transportation Commission (WCCTC), formerly known as the West Contra Costa Transportation Advisory Committee (WCCTAC), is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant. The position is a “hybrid” one in that it can involve a combination of in-office and remote work. 

We are a small governmental Joint Powers Authority that serves a Board of Directors comprised of elected officials. As an Administrative Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our daily operations and ensuring smooth workflow within the organization. You will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks to assist in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of our work environment.

DUTIES

Office Support: Provide general administrative support such as ordering office supplies, answering phones and emails, preparing documents, maintaining information on website, processing the mail, interacting with vendors and visitors, coordinating office maintenance, and researching and making recommendations for needed services.

Meeting Support: Post meeting information on the website, conduct quorum checks, assist in setting up for two monthly morning meetings, prepare minutes, coordinate follow-up action as needed and assist with occasional community events.
Document Management: Organize, track, and maintain physical and electronic files, including meeting agendas and packets, resolutions, key agency documents, employee information, etc. Digitize and organize archived files.

Billing: Manage and track incoming invoices, apply finance codes to invoices and checks, collaborate with contract accountant and finance staff, manage the agency credit card, and oversee billing related to specific programs. Regularly deliver invoices and deposits in-person to the City of San Pablo City Hall.

This position serves on a tree crew; prunes, sprays, feeds and fertilizes; stakes and otherwise cares for trees. This position climbs and prunes trees using rope and saddle and/or aerial lift equipment.
 
The City of Sunnyvale currently maintains a street tree inventory of over 38,000 street trees. The Maintenance Worker 2 – Tree Maintenance position is a fully trained/skilled tree climber position. The qualified candidate shall have at least six months experience similar to an ISA Certified Tree Worker Climber Specialist. This position serves on a tree crew, prunes, sprays, feeds, fertilizes, plants, stakes and otherwise cares for trees. This position climbs and trims trees using rope and saddle and/or aerial lift equipment. Successful candidates shall be required to demonstrate proficiency in tree climbing using standard arboricultural climbing equipment, i.e. rope and saddle, to pass probation of the Maintenance Worker 2 position.

The City of San Jose's Department of Parks, Recreation & Neighborhood Services (PRNS) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior Analyst for BeautifySJ in the Community Services Division of PRNS.

The BeautifySJ is a blight reduction, neighborhood beautification, and encampment management program within the Community Services Division of the Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services Department. BeautifySJ Programs include, the Graffiti Removal Program, Illegal Dumping Program, Neighborhood Dumpster Day Program, Neighborhood Litter Program, Recreational Vehicle Pollution Prevention Program, Encampment Trash Removal Program, Encampment Abatement Program, Clean Gateways, and Cash for Trash Program. These programs work to improve quality of life and neighborhood livability.

This analyst will lead administrative services and functions for the BeautifySJ Program to support our neighborhood blight reduction and encampment management programs. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for leading a team of analyst and administrative support staff, budget and expenditure management, grant writing and fiscal management, hiring and staff personnel functions, contract management, Council memo preparation, report writing, and managing the collection and analysis of program data. The person will report to and support the Division Manager. This person can also expect to work on intra-departmental teams and with interjurisdictional partners. The person selected for the position can expect to work in-person a minimum of four days per week after onboarding and training is completed.

The duties of this position will consist of:

• Supporting the Division Manager and Deputy Director to develop and implement the Annual Division Workplan
• Writing council and committee memos, developing reports, and monitoring program performance
• Developing annual budget proposals and researching and writing grant proposals to diversify program funding
• Leading and managing program analysts and administrative staff
• Monitoring program performance to ensure alignment with program goals and outcomes
• Working with intra-departmental partners on projects

The Assistant Civil Engineer is an entry-level class in the Civil Engineer series. This class is distinguished from the Associate Civil Engineer by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within the Civil Engineer series. Incumbents perform less complex office and field engineering work and assignments are generally routine or closely related within a framework of established procedures. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have applicable education but only limited related work experience. The Assistant Civil Engineer receives general supervision from higher level professional engineers and may exercise technical or functional supervision over technical engineering staff. The Assistant Civil Engineer position does not require registration as a civil engineer or professional engineer. 

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Perform a variety of engineering duties in support of capital improvement projects including road construction, storm drains, sewers, traffic systems and related construction projects.

The County of San Mateo Parks Department is seeking an experienced Park Ranger II to provide a variety of public services to preserve, protect, and enhance the natural, historical, recreational and educational resources of the County. Under supervision, Park Ranger II are responsible for maintaining trails and picnic areas, camping and boating facilities; performing facility maintenance; assisting the public in taking full advantage of the facilities and grounds; and assisting with interpretive and recreational programs. Incumbents also supervise temporary employees and provide guidance and training to staff.

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least two years of experience in park management, forestry, natural resource conservation, law enforcement, construction, emergency response or a closely related field.
• Practical experience in trail building and maintenance; facility cleaning and maintenance; customer service; working with volunteers; handling complaints; performing First Aid, CPR, and other safety procedures; interpreting and enforcing laws, rules and regulations; and performing basic construction and carpentry work.

This position requires outdoor physical labor and may include exposure to hazards, sun, bees, ticks, poison oak, nettles, pollen, etc.

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is two years of experience in park management, forestry, natural resources conservation or a closely related field.

Licensure/Certification:

Acquire within the first year of employment a POST 832 Law Enforcement certificate.

The San Mateo County Parks Department (“Parks Department”) serves approximately three million visitors each year. Visitors have many options when visiting the County’s vast parks system. The Parks Department is seeking highly motivated professionals for the position of Contract Administrator II. The successful candidate will have experience negotiating and executing agreements and contracts for services and strategic sourcing for goods. The candidate will be a self-motivated, highly analytical, and strategic thinker with the ability to solve business problems and deliver insights that enable timely and effective operational decision-making.

Under general supervision, the position will assist management personnel in such activities as purchasing; contract administration; overseeing the regular Board of Supervisors and Parks Department agenda development process, including development, posting, and distribution of agenda items; performance reporting; reviewing and developing policies and procedures; and other related work as required. The position will work with cross-functional teams of the organization to coordinate the development, execution and management of all Parks Department agreements while utilizing County of San Mateo systems efficiently and effectively. The position is responsible for purchasing duties in difficult or complex commodity areas of a wide variety of materials, supplies and equipment, and perform a broad scope of purchasing transactions.
