What Is the june 2025 Academy?

The June 2025 Academy is a rigorous Police training program designed to prepare individuals for a rewarding career in law enforcement. Whether you're a recent graduate, a career changer, or someone committed to public service, this academy provides the essential knowledge, skills, and practical training needed to excel in the field.

No prior experience or training is required. However, applicants must meet ALL of the minimum qualifications below:

• At least 20-1/2 years old at the time of application / Maximum age is 70 years old (mandatory retirement age)
• Legally authorized to work in the United States under Federal Law
• Possession of a valid driver's license authorizing operation of a motor vehicle in the U.S.
• U.S. high school diploma or other state approved high school diploma equivalency exam; waived if you earned a degree from an accredited college within the U.S.
• *MUST POSSESS AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION* Forty (40) semester or sixty (60) quarter credits from a U.S. accredited college or university. Police academy credits already earned are accepted as part of the education requirement. POLICE OFFICER RECRUIT POSITION:

• California P.O.S.T. Physical Agility Test (WSTB). Pass or Fail. The WSTB includes a 99-yard obstacle course, 32-foot body drag (165 lbs.), six-foot chain-link fence climb with 25 yard sprint, and 500-yard run. Also included in the Physical Agility Test is a 1 mile run, which must be completed in 12 minutes or less. Results valid for one year. STEP #4: ORAL BOARD INTERVIEW

• This is a panel interview. Candidates will be asked five to eight questions. Pass Point is 70% or higher. Results are valid for three years.
• If you are out of state or military, we can conduct your interview via ZOOM but you will still need to come out here to take the physical agility test.

STEP #5: BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION PROCESS

• Eligible candidates will complete a Personal History Statement (PHS) packet. Background investigators will then be assigned to assist candidates through the process. Upon successful completion and review of the background investigation, the hiring board will make their employment selections. Those selected will receive a conditional offer of employment, contingent upon successfully passing a medical and psychological exam.

STEP #6: THE SAN JOSE POLICE ACADEMY

• Police Recruits are considered a City of San Jose employee while attending the Academy, which is a 26-week program. Recruits are paid the current contract hourly rate while in the Academy. Upon graduation, you will enter the Field Training Program (FTO) for additional training as a SJPD officer on the street.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Psychologist I is the entry-level class in the Psychologist series, providing professional psychological diagnostic and therapeutic services in a county program. Work is generally of a routine nature requiring more direct supervision for the more complex cases. This class is flexibly staffed with Psychologist II and incumbents are expected to advance to the higher level after gaining experience and demonstrating the required proficiency.

Psychologist II is the fully experienced journey level class in the Psychologist series providing a full range of professional psychodiagnostic, psychotherapeutic, consultant, and training and research work in a comprehensive community mental health program with a high degree of skill and independence. Employees also serve as a team leader within regional programs.

Examples Of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Perform professional psychological work involving evaluation and treatment of children and/or adults; make diagnoses and provide psychotherapy and other kinds of psychological treatment in one of the option areas.
• Select and administer psychological tests or observational procedures, interpret their results and prepare psychological evaluation reports.
• Carry out various kinds of treatment work such as individual or group psychotherapy, family therapy, crisis intervention, behavior modification and various types of group process experience.
• Provide mental health consultation appropriate to the needs of various professionals, agencies and community groups.
• Participate in developing preventive mental health procedures in segments of community life.
• Participate in regional or service unit research projects.
• Participate in the training of psychology trainees or other mental health disciplines.

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification:

• Psychologist I: Application for a waiver in lieu of license to the State Department of Mental Health for Psychology. An individual hired in this classification must become licensed within six years from the date of employment.

The City of Newark is seeking dedicated professionals to be Public Safety Dispatchers and be members of a team providing excellent service to our community. This position performs a variety of para-professional, responsible eligibility determination, case management duties, and performs related duties as assigned in the Adult Unit and Adult Drop In Center. The HHSA Case Manager II is distinguished from the HHSA Case Manager I by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned, responsible for direct client contact in the provision of case management including complex cases. The position is located in the Behavioral Health Division at the Glenn County Health and Human Services Agency is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

Salary Information This is an exempt management position and the salary range for Assistant Independent Police Auditor = $164,377.98 - $256,233.64

This amount includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable pay. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidate's qualifications and experience.

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. The Mission of the Yuba County Jail is to provide safe, efficient, humane and secure custody of all persons incarcerated. The county prisoner population is made up of those who are sentenced to county jail, those serving state prison sentences in the county jail under AB109, and those who are pre-trial and who have not yet been sentenced. The jail provides a necessary link in the criminal justice system.
