San Mateo County Health is excited to be able to offer a full-time, benefited, unique job opportunity to well-qualified individuals for the position of Supervising Nurse Practitioner (Supervising NP) Forensic Medical Unit, as part of San Mateo Medical Center's Keller Center.

The Keller Center for Family Violence Intervention is a unique outpatient medical unit affiliated with San Mateo Medical Center Emergency Department. We perform forensic medical exams on victims of assault and abuse and work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team that includes law enforcement, the District Attorney’s office, Child Protective Services, Aging and Adult Services, and several community agencies. We also provide education and serve as a resource for other community hospitals and clinics.

The Supervising Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with the Medical Director of Specialty Services and Deputy Director of Ambulatory Nursing in planning, organizing and directing the activities and staff of the Keller Center along with developing standards of practice for forensic exams and reporting. This classification is distinguished from the Nurse Practitioner Series for having full administrative supervisory responsibility over other Nurse Practitioners. The selected individual will spend up to 30% of time in direct patient care at SMMC, which includes performing forensic medical exams for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, elder abuse and child abuse. Testifying in court will be part of the job responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

• At least two years of forensic examination training and experience
• Trauma Informed Care training and experience
• Experience bringing diverse viewpoints and stakeholders together successfully to accomplish goals and commands the trust and respect of others
• Interest in team-based care and creating a positive patient experience, and has demonstrated innovation and initiative in realizing that vision
• Has overseen and led complex projects and coordinated interdisciplinary teams
• Has at least two years of experience in supervising and mentoring others
• At least three years of experience as a Practitioner, and a minimum of six months of lead or supervisory experience overseeing clinical care

About the Department
The Parks and Public Works Department (PPW) is responsible for the maintenance and improvements of the Town's public parks, facilities, streets, and other infrastructure.  Our goal is to efficiently provide residents, businesses, and visitors with the highest quality service possible, with dedication and professionalism.  The Department has five service areas: Engineering, Capital Improvement, Streets and Signals, Parks, and Environmental Services. Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in transportation planning, city and regional planning, urban studies, civil engineering, or closely related field, and five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in transportation development programs including two (2) years of project management.  A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university is desirable.
 
License and Certification:

• A California Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record are conditions of initial and continued employment.

POSITION

Administers the City’s affordable housing programs including homebuyer loans, project funding assistance, housing monitoring, housing portfolio, and inclusionary housing; implements the City’s CDBG and Continuum of Care programs and other federal and state grants; serves as the City’s representative for the Yolo County Homeless and Poverty Action and represents the City at other homeless-related meetings; serves as staff to the City’s Manufactured Home Fair Practices Commission; and performs a variety of highly specialized administrative work. Provides information to housing developers regarding compliance with regulatory agreements for residential projects.   Negotiates complex agreements and policies related to affordable housing, effectively soliciting the input of developers, affordable housing advocates, and other stakeholders. Manage housing consultant contracts. Reviews proformas and financial assistance options. Evaluates requests for loans and grant financing and bond issuances for projects leading to funding recommendations. Coordinates and facilitates the development of affordable subsidized and inclusionary housing in the Spring Lake Specific Plan area, as well as infill sites throughout the City. Manages and monitors affordable housing program (all inclusionary units) for rental and for sale properties. Prepares state and federal grant applications and assists in locating alternative funding sources for community development activities and completes all related reporting. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Researches and analyzes technical and statistical data to implement goals, objectives and policies of the Housing Element and makes recommendations to improve program activities. Description

The Department: 

The Community Development Department is comprised of three divisions: Planning, Building, and Housing and Community Services. In general, the Department guides the ongoing physical development of the community, to ensure that construction conforms to the standards of the City and State. Within the Department, the Housing and Community Services Division provides strategic leadership for the City’s housing program and facilitates the development and preservation of affordable housing and the delivery of community services for lower income residents.

The Housing and Community Services Division is staffed by nine (9) full-time positions. Specific activities within the Division include administration of the City’s inclusionary housing program for rental and ownership units, loans for new affordable housing development and rehabilitation, the long-term compliance of the City’s affordable housing portfolio, and management of the City’s Redevelopment legacy assets. The Division also administers the City’s federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Act Program (HOME) entitlement grant programs. These grants are used to promote affordable housing, rehabilitate substandard housing, facilitate neighborhood improvements, remove barriers to persons with disabilities, prevent homelessness and reduce its impacts, and to fund public services for low- and moderate-income residents.

The Position: 

The Staff Analyst II will be essential in administering and monitoring compliance of the City's Affordable Housing Programs. This position ensures that multifamily housing projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations. The Staff Analyst II will review, interpret, and apply these regulations, as well as the City’s affordable housing agreements. Responsibilities include overseeing compliance for the affordable rental portfolio, monitoring both existing and new inclusionary units, collaborating with developers on initial marketing and lease-ups, and assisting with complex issues related to rental compliance and reporting requirements. Additionally, the Staff Analyst II will report directly to the Housing Development Officer and provide administrative and clerical support.

Under general supervision, the Senior Land Surveyor supervises and coordinates the activities of field and office surveying functions and assists the Survey and Mapping Manager with supervisory and administrative functions of the Survey Services Unit.

Distinguishing Characteristics
This is a single position classification responsible for assisting the Survey and Mapping Manager in supervising the efforts of subordinate personnel including surveyors, engineering technicians, and consultants. The Senior Land Surveyor can be assigned to any of the following areas: supervision of survey activities in the field for design and construction projects, supervision of office surveying functions such as mapping, writing legal descriptions, and production of accurate calculations used for engineering, real estate and construction activities.

This classification requires that the incumbent be licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor in the State of California or equivalent and possess specialized knowledge of land surveying techniques and construction surveying, with emphasis on technology such as GPS (Global Positioning System) methodology and instrumentation. This position will supervise professional and/or administrative staff, as well as identify the need for establishing and administering consultant contracts. This position works with other public agencies (e.g., Caltrans, local cities and counties, water district) to establish property exchanges and rights of way for transportation improvements.

Essential Job Functions

Typical Tasks

• Selects, supervises, trains, motivates, assigns, evaluates, counsels and disciplines subordinate personnel;
• Supervises office and field survey activities;
• Advises survey staff regarding methods and techniques of surveying;
• Provides direction to the Survey Department's Record Drawing Group as needed;
• Coordinates surveying activities with real estate agents, engineers, inspectors, contractors, etc.;
• Attends pre-construction meetings or assigns survey staff to attend and keeps informed on projects and related activities;
• May recommend design changes to conform with field conditions;
• May administer consultant contracts;
• Supervises personnel performing office and/or field work required for preparation of Record of Survey Maps, Parcel Maps, Corner Records, legal descriptions, and construction layout plans for VTA projects;
• Serves as Responsible Charge as described in the Professional Engineers' and Land Surveyors' Act including stamping, signing, and certifying the correctness of documents;
• Interprets legal descriptions of real property;
• Uses AutoCAD, Softdesk, and other computer aided design software in the development of maps and calculations;
• Interacts with various public and private organizations;
• Prepares clear and comprehensive reports and technical correspondences;
• Performs technical surveying work as required including GPS surveying, running level loops, and producing maps and legal descriptions;
• Performs related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Employment Standards
Sufficient training, education, and experience to demonstrate possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Development of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is typically obtained through training and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in surveying science, engineering or a related field and a minimum of eight (8) years of technical surveying experience, at least three (3) years of which must have been in a position comparable to that of a field surveying Chief of Party and/or office surveying "Lead" Land Surveyor. Directly related experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year for year basis.

Registration as a Professional Land Surveyor in the State of California or equivalent is required at the time of appointment.

The City of Menlo Park is recruiting for an Assistant/Associate/Senior transportation planner (2 positions) to help our organization better serve the community and improve the City’s infrastructure. This position will provide an excellent opportunity to gain technical and project management skills and experience. As part of a small city, staff have the opportunity to work closely with the transportation team and community on a variety projects and subject areas.

The transportation division leads multi-modal and safety-focused infrastructure projects; engages with regional transportation partners including Caltrain, Samtrans, Caltrans, and other transit providers; maintains the City’s traffic signals, street lights, traffic signs and street markings; and administers local-serving shuttle and safe routes to school programs. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting or leading transportation studies and plans that may include complete streets plans, bicycle and pedestrian facility development, safety planning, railroad grade separation planning, or others. The candidate should have an understanding of state and national guidance on the design of transportation facilities, and have experience supporting or leading outreach on transportation projects with diverse community members.

Assistant Transportation Planner

This is the entry-level classification in the professional transportation planning series. Initially, incumbents learn and perform a variety of techniques related to the development of short and long range transportation plans and conduct oversight of transportation demand management (both internal and external stakeholders), citywide shuttle, and safe routes to school programs. Positions at this level usually perform most of the duties required of the positions at the Associate level, but are not expected to function at the same skill level and usually exercise less independent discretion and judgment in matters related to work procedures and methods. Work is usually supervised while in progress and fits an established structure or pattern. Exceptions or changes in procedures are explained in detail as they arise. As experience is gained, assignments become more varied and are performed with greater independence.

Associate Transportation Planner

This is the journey-level classification of the transportation planning series, able to perform the full scope of professional transportation planning duties. Positions at this level are distinguished from the Assistant Transportation Planner level by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned, working independently, and exercising judgment, initiative, and problem solving. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. This class is distinguished from the Senior Transportation Planner in that the latter is the advanced journey-level class in the series and is responsible for performing more complex planning and project management activities.

Senior Transportation Planner

This is the advanced journey-level classification in the Transportation Planner series responsible for complex transportation planning and project management duties. Incumbents work on tasks that are varied and complex, requiring considerable discretion and independent judgement. Positions at this level conduct the full range of duties as assigned, work independently, and exercise judgment, initiative, and problem solving. The work involves problem solving of unique issues or increasingly complex problems without precedent or simple solutions. Assignments are given with general guidelines and incumbents are responsible for establishing objectives, timelines, and methods to deliver work products. Work is typically reviewed upon completion for soundness, appropriateness, and conformity to policy and requirements. This class is distinguished from the Associate Transportation Planner in that the latter is the journey-level class in the series, performing less complex tasks and project management activities.

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is the county’s largest provider of affordable housing, helping make rental housing safe and affordable for approximately 20,000 low-income households. 

How You Will Make an Impact:

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is seeking an Asset Manager to provide professional, technical and administrative asset management duties in support of a portfolio of Agency owned assets. The Asset Manager ensures compliance with programmatic and financial regulations, oversees property operations, and works with property management to ensure the physical, financial and social well-being of affordable housing assets.  The Asset Management Division, along with the Real Estate Development Division, are part of SCCHA’s Real Estate Department.  The team working in Real Estate is mission oriented, dynamic and collaborative. The team works closely together to creatively develop new affordable housing as well as preserve existing assets.

This position requires extensive knowledge of property maintenance, construction project management, capital planning and systems management, budget preparation and financial modeling to analyze portfolio performance. 

What Our Team Is Looking For: 

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience likely to provide the required core competencies may be considered. A typical combination that is qualifying may include: 

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in community development, business, economics, urban planning, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field; and
• A minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience performing asset management, real estate development, property management, and/or construction management functions.
• Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) experience is desirable.
• Possession of a valid California Driver's License and satisfactory driving record at the time of appointment is required as a condition of initial and continued employment only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than the employee's ability to get to/from various work locations in a timely manner, is necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
