Under direction of the Director of Public Works, or designee, the Associate Engineer or Project Manager performs engineering and project management services in the public setting, collaborating with multiple stakeholders. These roles involve a wide range of management functions, including planning, development, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation of assigned projects. The position(s) are responsible for managing multiple Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) and complex specialized projects or programs. Both classifications provide administrative, professional, and technical assistance to the Department Director, staff, and members of the public as required. We are currently seeking to hire 1-2 new FTEs.

• Leads, coordinates, schedules, budgets, and reviews activities of the Capital Improvement Project team, support staff, consultants, and contractors; includes overseeing road closures, utility encroachments, and traffic control plans.
   
• Plans, organizes, administers, and coordinates the implementation of Capital Improvement Projects or other City projects; involves reviewing and approving grading and encroachment permit applications, and coordinating project-related activities.
   
• Prepares and may present a variety of periodic progress and special reports related to projects and activities; includes preparing comprehensive technical and staff reports in verbal and written form to commissions, Task Forces, City Council, and other agencies.
   
• Confers and negotiates with stakeholders, business owners, and property owners regarding project impacts, potential right-of-way acquisition, and improvements; includes consulting with public and private agencies, and securing various easements on the City’s behalf.
   
• Reviews cost estimates, interprets plans and specifications for contractors, and determines contractual compliance; involves reviewing and approving utility encroachments and traffic control plans for compliance with City standards.
   
• Responds to questions or complaints related to project activities or policy; includes responding to inquiries from the public and resolving citizen complaints.
   
• Conducts contract bid openings, including review and approval of bid documentation, preparation, and analysis of bid summaries.
   
• Exercises sound, independent judgment in the day-to-day administration of specialized or complex projects and activities; includes overseeing project implementation and ensuring compliance with City standards.
   
• Closely coordinates with project or program stakeholders, consultants, contractors, City Council, and project team; includes coordinating with engineers, contractors, and private owners relative to construction and maintenance of private structures and sewer facilities.
   
• Responsible and accountable for designing and delivering projects on time, within budget, and with excellent customer service; includes providing and maintaining data in the City’s asset management and geographic information systems.

This position will serve as the primary contact for all applicants applying for housing assistance programs and the administration of rental assistance programs. • An associate degree with coursework in liberal arts, humanities, social work, business, public administration, or a related field.
• Two (2) years of responsible experience providing direct client services including caseload management functions with an assisted housing or other social services program and customer service.
• A bachelor’s degree is desirable.
• Bilingual skills are desired, but not required.

Summary:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of custodial tasks and provides oversight of rental groups, in accordance with District policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist patrons and prospective participants on the phone and in-person
• Assist permit groups with set-up and breakdown of tables, chairs, and other equipment
• Promptly open and unlock facilities or close and secure facilities as scheduled
• Complete facility condition forms following permit group use and incident reports as needed
• Notify management concerning need for major repairs or additions
• Turn athletic field lights off and on for sports groups
• Sell and scan admission tickets special events and/or theater performances

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Sweep floors, vacuum carpets, and dust or polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment
• Wash windows, clean restrooms, replenish supplies, and sanitize high touch areas often
• Empty waste receptacles and remove any trash or debris found throughout facility
• May assist with conducting recreation classes
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
Minimum age of 18 years old with a High School Diploma (or GED). At least 250 hours of experience in customer service or a related field preferred.

The Capital Project Manager I-II (CPM I-II) is part of the Engineering & Construction department at Midpen and we have two vacancies. While both positions will emphasize capital project management, one will focus on construction management and the other will focus on design. Capital Project Manager I is an entry-level position.  The incumbent will have acquired capital improvement, open space planning and design, land use, natural resource protection, and/or public administration experience, or equivalent education and training.  Assignments are generally limited in scope and set within procedural frameworks. The CPM I is assigned to manage small-scale projects or in support of larger scale projects managed by experienced Capital Project Managers.

Capital Project Manager II is the first experienced-level class in the Capital Project Manager series.  The incumbent performs the basic range of engineering review and construction management duties and/or conceptual design in the following areas: capital improvement, open space / public access, land use, and natural resource protection. The CPM II typically performs most of the duties required of the CPM III but are not expected to function at the same skill level.  Applicants with construction inspection, civil engineering, landscape architecture, project management, and/or construction management backgrounds are highly desired.

Work Environment/Conditions:  This position is part of the Engineering and Construction Department at the Midpen’s offices in Los Altos, California. Midpen offers a hybrid office/telecommute work schedule for this position.

Capital Project Managers will often work in the field and hike through steep terrain and wildland areas with poison oak and wildlife.  Field work will require driving in remote areas on dirt roads, working in temperatures ranging from cold and blustery to hot and dry. DEFINITION 

The Recreation Specialist - Lead Building Attendant oversees daily operations, trains and mentors' junior staff, ensures quality standards, delegates tasks efficiently, handles conflicts, enforces policies, and communicates with supervisors. DEFINITION 

As a Building Attendant, you will be responsible for the daily upkeep and maintenance of the Burlingame Community Center, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all occupants. ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Gilroy is currently recruiting for a full-time Senior Civil Engineer for the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department. The Senior Civil Engineer will work under the direction of the City Engineer and/or the Public Works Director and will lead the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Section. This supervisory position will lead a team of engineers and technicians in the implementation of the City’s CIP, including the planning, design, construction, and inspection of a variety of projects.  Responsibilities include supervising employees, directing complex professional-level field and office engineering assignments, developing strategies and schedules for implementing the CIP, assisting with CIP budgeting, and playing a significant role in making a difference in the community! 
 
The Senior Civil Engineer classification is an exempt, mid-management level position.

Public Works CIP projects involve planning, design, coordination with end users, bid package preparation, and construction management. Therefore, exceptional organizational and project management skills are imperative to achieve department and City goals. Additionally, successful performance requires the ability to independently implement programs, projects, and policies in conformance with generally accepted standards, including possessing thorough knowledge of contract administration, project management principles and supervisory practices.

The Senior Civil Engineer will manage assigned staff and consultants and assist with budgeting tasks within the Engineering Division. Furthermore, the Senior Civil Engineer will provide and participate in critical team leadership to ensure that all engineering services, goals, projects, and initiatives meet the high-performance standards of the Department and City.

The Air District is currently accepting applications for the position of Air Quality Specialist I/II in the Rules and Strategic Policy Division. This is an open recruitment for two (2) full-time, limited-term contract positions. Both positions are for a 3-year term.

This is a Limited Term Contract Employee (LTCE) Position.  LTCE positions are funded by grants or other designated funds which are not part of the Air District’s ongoing general fund budget.  LTCE positions are subject to individual employment contracts and are limited to the duration of their funding source.  Regular employees have the right to apply for an LTCE position.   However, LTCE positions are not subject to the terms of the Employee Association MOU, and LTCE employees serve on an at-will basis.
