The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. Incumbents may be assigned to either County Jail security or Court security.

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the administration of the Yuba County Jail and Jail staff. The Mission of the Yuba County Jail is to provide safe, efficient, humane and secure custody of all persons incarcerated. The county prisoner population is made up of those who are sentenced to county jail, those serving state prison sentences in the county jail under AB109, and those who are pre-trial and who have not yet been sentenced. The jail provides a necessary link in the criminal justice system. There are numerous programs operating within the facility including medical, kitchen, exercise, commissary, visiting, law library, inmate education, work programs, work furlough program, and inmate classification.

This is an entry level position under general supervision to perform semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance of the sewage collection system, flow equalization facility, lift stations, buildings and grounds maintenance and to perform related work as required.

After School & Youth Camps Attendants work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist I. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19 hours per week.

The Department: The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Position: After School & Youth Camps Attendants work behind the scenes making all Recreation and Community Services excel! This job entails assisting with planning and leading program activities, supervising youth in arts, crafts, games and sports, performing participant check-in, reception duties, and assisting with equipment set-up, take down and housekeeping, chaperoning participants on field trips, and opening and closing facilities. We’re looking for highly motivated people with a customer service orientation who genuinely enjoy helping others and who are flexible problem-solvers.

The specific duties of the After School Program Site Lead include program and curriculum development and implementation, budget management, staff management, participation and coordination of staff development, and general oversight of the designated after school program. The position will provide a safe, nurturing, and well-supervised after school program; act as a liaison between the program and parents, stakeholders, school administration, and school district staff to provide for a collaborative, positive, beneficial program. The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for a Deputy Director of Public Works - Engineering in the Community Development & Services Agency within the Public Works division. Under administrative direction, the incumbent assists the Public Works Director in planning, organizing and administering the Public Works Department’s engineering functions, including Capital Improvement Program, project design, and land development functions; provides expert professional assistance to County management in areas of expertise; and performs related work as assigned. This is the advanced managerial level in the professional civil engineering series.

Examples of Duties: 

• Direct the planning of work, setting of schedules and development of controls to ensure that short and long-range goals of the department are accomplished.
• Plan, organize, assign and evaluate the performance of subordinate staff; provide direction and coaching, through feedback sessions; create individual development plans with employees; discuss job performance problems to identify causes and issues, and to work on resolving problems; initiate performance improvement plans, propose and administer discipline.
• Assist in the interview and selection of staff; provide for the training and professional development of staff to ensure adequate skill sets for conformance with professional standards and County best practices.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Division including land development functions, capital improvement projects, and project design.
• Plan, measure and evaluate the performance of Division activities; take corrective action as necessary, to ensure the efficient and timely accomplishment of assigned tasks; assemble necessary resources to solve a broad range of programmatic and service delivery problems.
• Assist in the development and implementation of department goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards.

DEFINITION: Plan, organize and execute personal curriculum for elementary age children for a one hour onsite outdoor enrichment program. Program hours could include Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 2pm – 4pm and Wednesday 1:15pm – 3:15pm, preparation hours can be discussed.

About the Engineering Group Manager - Facility
 
The Engineering Group Manager – Facility position reports to the Deputy Director for Transit and Facility Engineering, and manages a diverse, talented team of seasoned staff. This team is well-versed in the delivery of capital projects in the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority operation and maintenance responsibility. This position is responsible for directing and leading collaboration on master planning, design development (including technical analysis in support of preliminary engineering and final design), construction management and close out, overall program/project management (including scopes, costs, schedules and quality of work), management of staff resources (both VTA and consultant), and coordination with project stakeholders within VTA and the community.
