DEFINITION

Under direction, to supervise and perform a wide variety of responsible professional engineering work in connection with the preparation of designs, plans, and specifications for a variety of public works projects, and to do related work as required.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Prepare, review, and check preliminary and final engineering designs, plans, specifications and cost estimates relating to the construction of streets, storm drains, water systems, sanitary sewer systems, structures, traffic control systems, and other public works projects; perform detailed checking of subdivision construction plans; perform survey and construction inspection work as required; prepare drawings and other documents relating to right of way acquisition; prepare technical reports on such matters as traffic flow, street deficiencies, storm drainage requirements, structural failures, water system requirements, sanitary sewer system requirements and related projects; may act in capacity of Resident Engineer of construction projects; supervise subordinate engineering personnel; establish and maintain satisfactory employee and public relations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of: Modern civil engineering principles, methods and practices, including stress analysis, hydraulics, hydrology, pavement design, traffic engineering, computer-aided drafting and mapping, surveying, technical report writing; the elements of effective supervision.

Ability to: Apply fundamental engineering principles to solving practical problems encountered in the design and construction of streets, storm drains, water systems, sanitary sewer systems, traffic control systems, structures and other public work projects; prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for contract documents; prepare engineering computations and technical reports; understand and carry out technical instructions and prepare staff analysis on assigned projects; make independent decisions on technical problems; interact positively and cooperate with co-workers, respond politely to customers, work as a team member, function under demanding time pressure, respond in a positive manner to supervision, and attend work and perform duties on a regular and consistent basis.

Education: Graduation from a college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent.

Experience: Two years of experience in civil engineering work at the level of a City of Daly City Engineer I.

License: Registration as a Professional Engineer in Civil Engineering in the State of California is required. Possession of a valid Class C California Driver’s License.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for an individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Adult Full-Service Partnership (FSP). The Clinical Therapist I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community with moderate to severe behavioral health clients. The Clinical Therapist will report to a Clinical Supervisor.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high acuity clients.

• Within scope of authority, assesses, diagnoses, and treats a variety of clients with mental health disorders; collaborates with clients and creates individualized treatments plans according to client’s needs and circumstances.

• Initiates and conducts individual, group, and family counseling and biopsychosocial therapy sessions utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities; provides case management services in the office and in the field.

• Performs routine and emergency intake evaluations according to Authority procedure;
  completes appropriate forms and documents relating to the intake process; and prepares medical and demographic case history for use in diagnosis.

• Assists clients and family members in understanding behavioral health diagnosis, contributing factors/causes, effects, prognosis, rehabilitation, and treatment.

• Works with clients to address stressors and barriers to treatment and/or social functioning; identifies and focuses on client strengths and personal resources to effectively engage and treat client.

The City of San Rafael Library and Recreation Department is now accepting applications for the position of Facilities Attendant (two part-time/temporary positions available).  This position provides customer service to renters and program participants while assisting with the supervision of front counter/reception area, set up and breakdown equipment for scheduled activities, custodial and cleaning including but not limited to emptying trash, vacuuming, cleaning windows, cleaning restrooms, etc.; opening and securing facility before and after building use and interacting with instructors, clients, and the general public.  Bilingual in Spanish is desired.

The position description:

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is looking to fill one vacancy for the Bilingual Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) for the Adult Outpatient Department to provide a variety of rehabilitative support services to clients to facilitate behavior modification, skill building, and self-care and safety in individual and/or group
settings. The BHS will demonstrate and coach clients to promote and reinforce the use of effective coping
strategies and techniques based on individual needs and treatment plans; perform outreach and
provide linkages and referrals to a variety of behavioral health, community, and social services,
resources, and systems of care.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provides individual, group, family, and collateral rehabilitative support services to facilitate behavior modification including skill building, needs assessment, self-care/safety, and coping strategies and techniques; may provide case management services in the office and in the field.

• Develops, monitors, and evaluates client rehabilitative and case management goals and increases/decreases in targeted behavior according to client needs; monitors goal progress/regression.

DEFINITION:

Under general supervision of the Community and Recreation Services Director, the Community Services Manager administers and manages the Youth and Family Services (YFS) and Homeless Programs of the Community and Recreation Services Department for the City of Union City. YFS services include support for youth violence intervention and prevention through mentoring, employment, outreach, case management, individual and family counseling, parent education, and crisis support. Homeless Programs provide direct case management services to unhoused individuals and families.

CLASS CHARACTERISITICS:

This is a single position management classification assigned overall management and coordination of service delivery for the Community Services including Youth & Family Services, Homelessness Programs and other community-based social services. The Community Services Manager is responsible for achieving defined fiscal and programmatic objectives including but not limited to identifying, preparing, and managing grant proposals, budget, and performance reports for federal, state, and local funding.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (illustrative only):

• Manages and implements a delivery system of social services to youth, families and individuals in crises and the unhoused including but not limited to: at-risk youth, dependent children, homelessness support, sustenance and nutrition support, victims of child/adult abuse, domestic violence, and those experiencing mental health and substance abuse.
• Develops, integrates and oversees new social services programs into division/department administrative structure.
• Writes effective and persuasive grant proposals to secure funding to support City projects, programs and activities.
• Prepares performance reports for federal, state and local funding, and program performance and other reports as required by the City.
• Ensures timely and accurate use and reporting of grant funds consistent with purpose(s) outlined by the funding source, and communication of proposed variances to use of funds as necessary.
• Manages, trains, motivates and evaluates a team of multi-disciplinary staff. Provides overall technical and management direction/coordination to personnel in assigned area of responsibility.
• Works collaboratively with public, private and non-profit organizations, community members and other stakeholders including County and State level regional bodies and taskforces to build partnerships and coalitions to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of programs and service delivery methods.
• Conducts presentations of programs and services provided to public, groups and other agencies.
• Serves as a departmental liaison with community social and mental health agencies, local law enforcement and criminal justice agencies, the faith community, community organizations and non-profit organizations, the school district, and others to adequately assess and represent community needs.
• Participates in department, city and community meetings as necessary.
• Conducts assessments to identify appropriate resources and provide referral services (secondary duty).

The Department

The Human Services Department (HSD) delivers and supports services by forging long-term community partnerships; engaging with and building the capacity of the community to do its own problem- solving; and leveraging financial and volunteer resources.  The Aging and Family Services Division (AFS) of HSD specifically supports older residents and their caregivers to live active, healthy lives in the Tri-City community.

The Position

As a member of the HSD assigned to the AFS, the Senior Program Coordinator will organize, coordinate, and implement community wellness programs for older adults. The Community Programs include health promotion activities such as health screenings, wellness classes, and educational activities. The position works within a team that includes volunteers, health promoters, nurses, social workers and mental health workers. The position facilitates community awareness and partnerships, with individuals and agencies, to promote an age-friendly environment.

Examples of Job Duties

• Serve as a member of a departmental team providing programs and services designed to improve the quality of life of City residents.
• Administer one or more program areas.
• Assume direct responsibility for program design and implementation.
• Oversee day-to-day program operations.
• Coordinate programs with individuals and community service providers.

PAL (Police Activities League) Program Attendants work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist I. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19 hours per week.

The Department: The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Position: PAL Program Attendants work with Suisun City’s PAL Program and with area teenagers ages 13-19 to implement educational and recreational activities: tutoring, sports, games, mini-excursions, competitions, contests, seminars, and special events, and provide general support to the program’s Recreation Supervisor.
