Summary:
Under general supervision, coordinates, conducts and participates in the delivery of recreational program activities and executes day-to-day operations in assigned units according to established programs, schedules and standards; and performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Researches class ideas and structure and forecasts participation; organizes and implements various athletic, craft, social, cultural, instructional and community service programs.
• Instructs recreation classes to various age groups; modifies and adapts activities specific to specialized programs or populations; facilitates programming at onsite and offsite locations; provides pre- and post-event assistance.
• Develops interest, enthusiasm and fair play among participants; addresses challenging behaviors and follows proper channels to document contacts and results; recruits assistance and guidance from immediate supervisor when escalation is needed; reports all compliance issues per District standards.
• Establishes schedules; responds to general inquiries; assists with program registration; initiates payment and refund procedures.
• Oversees and supervises the use and care of equipment, supplies, materials and facilities; assists in initiating equipment procurement and maintenance; manages forms related to facilities and equipment use.
• Supervises special events, field trips and other group activities; ensures safety of environment and equipment for participants.
• May be assigned to camp programs.

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

• May be required to drive a District or personal vehicle.
• Applies behavior modification and appropriate social modeling techniques.
• May attend community events to promote recreational programs and events.
• May assist with transportation in specialized programs.
• Participates during disasters or when emergency response is needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfac­torily. Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge, skill and/or ability listed below is qualifying.

Education/Experience: 
A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: graduation from high school or GED program, and at least 1,500 hours of relevant work experience, with at least 30 units completed in recreation or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must be at least 18 years old.

Language Ability:
Ability to communicate effectively in English in both written and oral form. Ability to write routine correspondence using correct spelling and grammar.

Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to use common sense and exercise good judgement in solving problems. Ability to establish effective relationships with fellow employees, volunteers, participants and parents/guardians.

Certificates and Licenses: 

• First Aid & CPR/AED within 90 days of employment with ability to maintain certifications thereafter as a condition of employment.
• Valid California driver’s license with a good driving record and current automobile insurance. For Therapeutics unit^: ability to obtain a commercial driver license within one year of employment (for a 15-passenger van).
• Department of Justice fingerprint clearance.
• Proof of a negative TB skin test.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. This position may direct the activities of contract workers and volunteer staff.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a community center or office environment subject to frequent public contact and interruption and to intermittent exposure to individuals acting in a disagreeable fashion. Examination:
Candidate selection will be based on competitive examinations. Test content will be related to the job. A driver license will be requested for identification and admission to the testing area. • Written Test/Practical Exercise:  A written test and a practical exercise may be used, in addition to the appraisal interview. 
• Appraisal Interview:  A job related appraisal interview will be conducted to evaluate and compare participating candidates’ knowledge, skills, and abilities in relation to those factors which job analysis has determined to be essential for successful performance of the job.
• After the Appraisal Interview, the top candidates will be invited to a staff interview.

Afterschool program site leads work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist II. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19 hours per week.

The department: The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Position:  Responsible for maintaining the coordination, implementation, and administration of designated after school program. The specific duties of the After School Program Site Lead include program and curriculum development and implementation, budget management, staff management, participation and coordination of staff development, and general oversight of the designated after school program. The position will provide a safe, nurturing, and well-supervised after school program; act as a liaison between the program and parents, stakeholders, school administration, and school district staff to provide for a collaborative, positive, beneficial program. THE POSITION

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is currently hiring to fill three (3) full-time vacancies for the position of Psychiatric Technician I/II within the Mobile Crisis Care Program (MCCP). Tri-City’s MCCP is a 24/7 mobile crisis response team with shifts that may include evenings, weekends, daytime hours, and holidays. Weekend and night shifts will be entitled to Shift Differential Pay of $2.50 per hour on weekdays (Monday through Friday) and $3.50 per hour on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Holiday shifts will be entitled to Holiday Pay.

Tri-City is looking for individuals to serve as a Psychiatric Technician I/II on a full-time basis for the MCCP. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Program Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Respond to client’s (Full-Service Partnership and Adult and Children’s Outpatient Programs and other specialty mental health services) crisis calls with or without law enforcement;

• Perform field-based and telephone emergency mental health evaluations and crisis stabilization in accordance with agency procedures;

• Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services to individuals, groups, and families;

• Identify treatment needs and make appropriate referrals for necessary services;

• Assist clients and relatives with understanding behavioral health problems and their reaction to them;

• Work on a multidisciplinary team for crisis response.

• Perform triage and linkages to non-client community members in the Tri-City catchment areas.

• Perform critical incident debriefs at the request of a community partner.

• Ability to respond to a mobile crisis in the community catchment area (Pomona, Claremont, and La Verne) within 60 minutes of disposition.

• Follow up with clients who receive mobile crisis services and collaborate with the client's treatment team for warm hand-off.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to calls during assigned shifts including: after regular business hours, late evenings, overnight hours, and on weekends; field work may be required.

TEEN CENTER/ KIDS NIGHT OUT PROGRAM STAFF

Salary Range: $17.37 to $28.95/hour depending on experience.

This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefitted position; 15-20 hours per week (not to exceed 950 hours per fiscal year); predominantly afternoon/early evening schedule with some weekends and concurrent with the school year.

SUPERVISION

General supervision received from the Program Coordinator. May exercise supervision of other staff depending on position.

Responsible for general oversight of and ensuring the safety of the after-school youth programming. Specific responsibilities to include:

• Organize and execute a variety of daily and weekly activities for participants ranging in ages 5 –14   including art, crafts, and games

• Maintain accurate attendance records on a daily and weekly basis

Our Teen Centers provide a secure and entertaining atmosphere for middle school students to spend their after-school hours. We operate on early release days and select non-school days, but we are closed during holidays.

Youth Services/Kids’ Night Out Program

Under the general supervision of the Youth Program Coordinator and direct supervision of the Youth Program Assistant, Youth Services staff is responsible for supervision and safety within the bi-monthly Kids’ Night Out Program, including implementing a variety of crafts, games and activities for youth ages 5 to 11.

Wastewater Operator II - A journey level classification in the Wastewater Operator series. The ideal candidate must be skilled in basic principles of mechanical, maintenance, and electrical systems. Must be able to recognize and report unusual, inefficient, or dangerous operating situations. Must have working knowledge of the functions and purpose of wastewater disposal systems; routine cleaning and basic operation of wastewater treatment equipment. Must have knowledge of algebra and geometry as required to perform the responsibilities of the position; basic knowledge of electronics and hydraulics. The ideal candidate  must be skilled in inspecting, operating, and maintaining a wastewater treatment plant and related lift stations including primary, secondary, tertiary and solids treatment processes. Must be able to recognize inefficient, unusual, or dangerous operating conditions. Solid experience in basic principles of mechanical, maintenance, and electrical systems; algebra and geometry; basic knowledge of electronics and hydraulics.  Must have good trouble shooting skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, training and leadership abilities, and have a dedication to safe working practices. Must be able to independently perform plant operations work; work on-call as assigned.
