Position Summary

Under general direction of the Ferry Maintenance Manager, this position will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive maintenance job plans for our fleet of passenger ferries and facilities. The Ferry Maintenance Planner is responsible for all aspects of the planning process with the goal of improving workforce productivity and work quality by eliminating potential delays and obstacles. This position is also responsible for analyzing and interpreting data and preparing correspondence and reports with recommendations to management.

Essential Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains a comprehensive job plan library to support maintenance activities for the ferry division assets, including routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs, at the direction of the Ferry Maintenance Manager.
• Performs fact finding job walks and inspections against maintenance service requests to create effective maintenance job plans.
• Collaborates with Ferry Maintenance Manager and Shop Foreman to coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to ferry operations.
• Works with store room and procurement personnel to ensure parts availability in line with maintenance work plans and schedules.
• Uses work order data and job plans to optimize on-hand inventory, identify and maintain sufficient critical spares inventory
• Coordinates with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair services.
• Ensures contractors are notified of any safety requirements prior to arrival on site.
• Reviews work order actuals (parts, labor, requisitions) data prior to records being closed.
• Identifies trends, optimize maintenance work plans, and improve overall maintenance efficiency by finding and eliminating defects in process and design.
• Prepares reports and documentation related to maintenance activities including work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment records. 
• Ensures compliance with all relevant safety regulations, industry standards and Ferry Division Safety Management System.
• Assists in the development and implementation of training programs for maintenance staff.
• Stays updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in Reliability Centered Maintenance.
• Undertakes improvement initiatives to support maintenance performance.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with District employees, customers, vendors and all others contacted during the course of work using principles of excellent customer service.
• Performs additional related duties as assigned.
• Regular and reliable attendance and performance required.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: 

• Associate degree in a related technical field. Qualifying Experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis in lieu of education
• Four (4) years of experience in industrial or transportation maintenance, preferably in the maritime industry.  
• Experience in using a Computerized Maintenance Management System, CMMS (IBM Maximo Preferred)
• Experience at an advanced level preforming maintenance-based planning (Labor, materials, tools, impact to operations) and technical administrative responsibilities is desirable. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency using advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database software; prepare analysis, presentations, and spreadsheets using Excel.

Required License: 

Must possess and maintain a current, valid California driver's license and satisfactory driving record.  

Physical Requirement: 

Working inside and outside in all weather conditions. Work around fumes, odors and dust in an occasionally high noise level environment. Ability to access and inspect all above and below deck spaces and voids. Ability to travel to District facilities. Routine use of computer, telephone and other office equipment.

Position Summary

The first 6-months will be at a Dispatcher Trainee status. Every two months during training, there will be a step increase as follows: 

Dispatcher II Trainee: 

Step 1 : $29.85

Step 2 : $33.83

Step 3 : $37.81                

Once you successfully complete the trainee status, the starting salary step is $39.80 with the highest step being $47.95 

This position reports directly to the Operations Control Manager, who provides general supervision, guidance, and assistance.  A substantial portion of the dispatcher’s work is assessment of unscheduled events and corrective action follow through.   Dispatcher’s work is evaluated by performance in maintaining scheduled and unscheduled service, dealing with emergency situations, supervision of bus operators, and interaction with bus transportation supervisors.
 
The primary responsibility of the Dispatcher is to make work assignments to bus operators in accordance with the labor agreement; within a geographic service area, to safely maintain scheduled and unscheduled service. An additional responsibility is to act as a Radio Dispatcher as required.   The position may require working on extended shifts. 

Essential Responsibilities

• Develops a daily dispatch plan, based on the availability of equipment and operators, and modify the plan as conditions or events change during the day.
• Responsible for maintaining scheduled and unscheduled service at a rate greater than 99% of all schedules while minimizing additional costs of overtime.  
• Possesses the knowledge and interpretation of the labor agreement in scheduling the extra board, making work assignments, and handling a wide variety of operational situations.
• Assists, coordinates, and provides radio contact for bus transportation supervisors in the field, and dispatches them as needed to respond to situations requiring supervisor’s presence.
• Verifies accuracy and functioning of time clocks, checks vehicle/operator supplies, reviews daily schedules, and verifies bus operator’s medical card and driver's license.
• Knows and follows the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable to his or her job.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with District employees, customers, vendors, and all others contacted during working hours using principles of excellent customer service.
• Performs additional related duties as assigned.
• Regular and reliable attendance and performance are required.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience in a fast-paced environment or experience in dispatching vehicles. Transit experience is preferred. Must pass the Dispatcher Training Program and Probationary Period. (This will include classroom instruction. The classroom instruction will consist of tests that must be passed. There will be modules on District fares, routes, knowledge of bid cycles, run books, policies, procedures, and MOU procedures, along with other paperwork associated with the duties of this position.)
 
Required License: Must possess and maintain a current, valid California driver's license and satisfactory driving record. No more than 2 moving violations within the last 3 years. No DUIs or reckless driving infractions within the last 7 years. May operate District vehicles. 
 
Physical Requirement: Lift up to 50-pound boxes and supplies. May require long periods of standing. Frequent bending and reaching. Long periods of working at a computer workstation. Constant use of sight abilities including hand/eye coordination, near range vision for sorting, and accessing written material.  Constant use of hearing and speech abilities to communicate with operators; give/receive instructions via the telephone, and radio.

Knowledge of: General Dispatching principles and operations. District policies and labor agreement (MOU) provisions. Occupational health and safety rules and working practices applicable to this position.

DEFINITION

Under direction, to supervise and perform a wide variety of responsible professional engineering work in connection with the preparation of designs, plans, and specifications for a variety of public works projects, and to do related work as required.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Prepare, review, and check preliminary and final engineering designs, plans, specifications and cost estimates relating to the construction of streets, storm drains, water systems, sanitary sewer systems, structures, traffic control systems, and other public works projects; perform detailed checking of subdivision construction plans; perform survey and construction inspection work as required; prepare drawings and other documents relating to right of way acquisition; prepare technical reports on such matters as traffic flow, street deficiencies, storm drainage requirements, structural failures, water system requirements, sanitary sewer system requirements and related projects; may act in capacity of Resident Engineer of construction projects; supervise subordinate engineering personnel; establish and maintain satisfactory employee and public relations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of: Modern civil engineering principles, methods and practices, including stress analysis, hydraulics, hydrology, pavement design, traffic engineering, computer-aided drafting and mapping, surveying, technical report writing; the elements of effective supervision.

Ability to: Apply fundamental engineering principles to solving practical problems encountered in the design and construction of streets, storm drains, water systems, sanitary sewer systems, traffic control systems, structures and other public work projects; prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for contract documents; prepare engineering computations and technical reports; understand and carry out technical instructions and prepare staff analysis on assigned projects; make independent decisions on technical problems; interact positively and cooperate with co-workers, respond politely to customers, work as a team member, function under demanding time pressure, respond in a positive manner to supervision, and attend work and perform duties on a regular and consistent basis.

Education: Graduation from a college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent.

Experience: Two years of experience in civil engineering work at the level of a City of Daly City Engineer I.

License: Registration as a Professional Engineer in Civil Engineering in the State of California is required. Possession of a valid Class C California Driver’s License.

This department is seeking to fill one (1) full-time Power Resources Specialist I/II position to support the Risk Management and Contracts Administration Division.

This position is part of an exciting fast-paced team responsible for mitigating risks and managing a power portfolio comprised of hundreds of megawatts of renewable energy projects.

The selected candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:

• Evaluate, review, and validate the accuracy of market positions and risk metrics such as mark-to-market, value at risk, gross margin at risk.
• Perform quantitative and analytical data modeling to quantify risks, evaluate risk reduction strategies, aid strategic/ operational decision making and provide insights.
• Update, manage and validate accuracy of Power BI business intelligence dashboards related to energy risk management such as risk limits, forward prices, collateral.

Salary Information:

Power Resources Specialist I is $99,503.04 - $121,255.68.

Power Resources Specialist II is $108,282.72-$131,913.60.

This range includes an approximate five (5%) ongoing on-pensionable pay. Actual pay shall be determined by the candidate's qualifications and experience.

The City of Patterson is currently recruiting to fill one (1) vacancy for a part-time Facility Custodian with the Recreation & Community Services Department and to establish an Eligibility List.

Duties include, but are not limited to: under direct supervision, performs a variety of facility related tasks to ensure effective operations at the Recreation and Community Services Complex and related facilities and parks. Prepares facilities for use; works with users during events; provides set-up and arrangements for classes, meetings, and public and private events; registers participants for recreational programs; assists with cleaning and maintaining of Community Services' facilities including removing and disposing of trash, sweeping, and mopping of floors.  Provides staff support for recreation events and programs.

The Recreation Division provides classes and programs for all ages and abilities. The Position: 
An incumbent in this classification is responsible for the safe operation of an assigned swimming pool, including supervising pool personnel, overseeing conduct of pool events, ensuring  collection and security of revenue, and attendant record keeping.  Candidates must be able to serve a variety of ages, abilities and needs in participants from diverse backgrounds with tact and professionalism.
 
As an as-needed employee, this is an "at-will" position and there is no guarantee of hours. Hours are limited to 999 in a fiscal year or 960 hours in a fiscal year for retired CalPERS annuitants.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Requirements
• Education equivalent to completion of the eleventh grade; and
• Three (3) years of experience in swimming pool management, swimming instruction, lifeguarding, or related activity; and
• Must be at least 17 years of age at time of application

Possible Substitution
• One (1) year of experience in lifeguarding and/or swimming instruction with the City of Santa Clara may be substituted for the required three (3) years of experience.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATES
Possession of the following certificates is required:
• A valid American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certificate or Completion of City of Santa Clara Learn to Swim Instruction Program; and
• A valid American Red Cross Lifeguard certificate; and
• In accordance with State of California law, a valid California Work Permit is required at time of appointment for candidates under the age of 18 who have not graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate of proficiency
