The City Manager is the administrative head of the government of the City. Some of the duties of the City Manager include:

The City of Santa Clara is recruiting for the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer for its Electric Utility, Silicon Valley Power (SVP).  Reporting to the Chief Electric Utility Officer (CEUO), the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a senior management position in the City's unclassified service responsible for the oversight and direction for the fiscal, administrative, and managerial operations of the utility. The COO has supervisory and support responsibilities for the utility's divisions: Utility Operations, Customer Development and Project Management, Resource Planning and Customer Engagement, and Business Services. The COO will help guide SVP through the extraordinary period of growth related by doubling the existing capacity of the electrical system to meet new customer demands over the next 10 years. In addition to the expansion, the COO will work to ensure new renewable resources are added to meet the City's and State’s climate goals. THE POSITION:

THE POSITION:

This position provides advanced staff level assistance to executive or other management level staff, performs a wide variety of responsible and complex administrative and analytic duties, including providing information to the public and communicating Department and City activities and programs.

Senior Management Analyst II – this class is the full journey level class and is experienced to work independently in identifying the need for and developing changes to operating practices, systems, programs and policies.  Incumbents perform the full array of duties within the area of assignment, including complex analytical projects and providing staff support to department administration and city officials as well as working with high degree of independence in interacting with all levels of city employees, managers, elected officials, community groups, and other governmental agencies and the public. 

This position performs the following essential job duties (including but not limited to):

• Assists or leads projects, tasks, and assignments that are priorities for the senior management staff.
• Assumes direct responsibility for managing a variety of projects and programs; oversee assigned administrative support functions including budget.

This position will oversee and mentor a team of skilled IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture, but also actively participating in the day-to-day operational tasks and responsibilities of the team.

The IT Manager will be responsible for the following upcoming projects:

• Developing a strategic plan for the IT division to foster transparency, increase operational efficiency, improve staff satisfaction, and to bolster trust.
• Replacing the outdated document management and retention system.

An example of duties are:

Eight (8) years of increasingly responsible infrastructure and enterprise applications management experience in an IT environment consisting of multiple platforms, large-scale applications with multiple operating systems which included a minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience.

Licenses and Certifications

Deputy District Attorneys perform professional legal services in the prosecution of a variety of criminal and/or civil matters on behalf of the District Attorney and perform other related work as assigned.

Deputy District Attorney I-II-III:

• Level I – This level is assigned to attorneys who have no previous legal experience.  Attorneys at this level work under close supervision. Applicants who have taken the California State Bar Exam this year and are waiting for results are encouraged to apply.

• Level II – This level is assigned to attorneys with at least one year of experience in the practice of law, who have demonstrated sufficient professional knowledge, judgment and skill to begin handling cases under general supervision.
