The City of Newark is seeking dedicated professionals to be Public Safety Dispatchers and be members of a team providing excellent service to our community. EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

DEFINITION

Under direction of the Chief Building Supervisor/Building Official, to assist in inspecting buildings and building construction for conformance with regulations, to perform construction contract management and inspections, and to do related work as required.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Enforces building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, energy, and fire codes; issues permits for all building activities; does plan checks on all construction, sewer connections, and septic tank installation, to ensure code compliance; investigates violations and checks all complaints regarding building procedures; works closely with Fire Marshall’s office on plan checks and fire code enforcement; enforces zoning code regulations and business licenses; gives information to the public regarding codes and ordinances, and confers with owners, architects, and engineers regarding design construction and filing of records, plans, maps, and similar documents; keeps records and prepares reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:  State and local building and fire codes and ordinances, provisions of electrical and plumbing regulations, principles and techniques of building construction, principles of structural design and basic engineering mathematics, building materials and accepted safety standards, standard installation procedures for electrical and plumbing facilities, and local zoning regulations.

Ability to:  Analyze, interpret, and check building plans and specifications; understand, interpret and apply laws and regulations; prepare clear and concise written reports; use a computer to record, organize, and monitor all building inspection activities including written reports; maintain cooperative working relationships with engineers, architects contractors, government officials, employees, and the general public.  Interact positively and cooperate with co-workers, respond politely to customers, work as a team member, function under demanding time pressure, respond in a positive manner to supervision, and attend work and perform duties on a regular and consistent basis.

Experience:  Three years of progressively responsible experience in a variety of building inspection or construction work.

Education:  Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Certification:  Possession of a “International Code Council Building Inspector Certification” , is desirable, or ability to obtain within twelve (12) months  of  hire date.

The following certifications are desirable:

• International Code Council, International Conference of Plumbing and Mechanical Inspectors, or equivalent organization: 
  • Electrical Inspector certification
  • Mechanical Inspector certification
  • Plumbing Inspector certification
     

License:  Possession of a valid Class C California Driver’s License.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The City of Gilroy is currently recruiting for a Management Analyst in the Administration Department reporting to the Assistant to the City Administrator. As a Management Analyst, you’ll be a vital part of our team, working at the intersection of strategic management and community enhancement. • Transporting vehicles and equipment to repair shop.
• Arranging for tows.
• Entering and maintaining vehicle inventory/status log.
• Coordinating service, oil changes, and cleaning of vehicles.

This position is part of an exciting fast-paced team responsible for mitigating risks and managing a power portfolio comprised of hundreds of megawatts of renewable energy projects.

The selected candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:
 

• Support the administration of power purchase agreements (herein, referred as "contracts"), including monitoring and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
• Review, understand and interpret contracts; Support development of processes to ensure that the contracts are managed and settled timely, accurately, efficiently and in compliance with the contracted terms.
• Prepare, review and verify the accuracy of settlement statements and invoices for contracts.
• Support the administration of contract prepayment transaction activities related to invoices settlement.
• Interpret, analyze, communicate and resolve issues that arise during contract administration and support the dispute resolution process.
• Identify and flag any problems related to administration of existing contracts and suggest improvement for future contracts. Support implementation of process improvements in contract management.

The Position
Under general or direct supervision, performs a wide variety of law enforcement duties involving crime prevention and investigation, protection of life and property, and enforcement of laws, codes, and ordinances; performs investigation duties, assists in the preparation of cases and testifies in court; cooperates with other law enforcement agencies and City departments; may provide lead direction for subordinate departmental employees and volunteers; provides information and assistance to the public; and performs related duties as assigned.

The Foster City Police Department is centered on the philosophy of Community Oriented Policing. As with all employees, the Police Corporal is expected to make non-enforcement contacts with the public in an effort to more clearly identify the needs of the community, and to assist the public in solving community problems. 

Class Characteristics
This is a lead-level class in the sworn officer series responsible for performing a wide variety of law enforcement tasks in support of a municipal police department. Incumbents perform the full range of duties as assigned, working independently, and exercising judgment and initiative. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. This class is distinguished from Police Sergeant in that the latter exercises technical and functional direction over and provides training to lower-level staff on an assigned shift.

Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade; successful completion of 30 semester units of college course work at an accredited institution.  An Associate's degree or higher is desirable. The minimum education requirements may be met by the possession of an Intermediate Post Certificate.

Experience: Possession of a POST Basic Certificate at the time of application. 

Licenses and Certifications:

• Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, and a good driving record, to be maintained
  throughout employment.
• Possession of a valid Basic Certificate issued by the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST).

Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed for relevant education, experience, training and other job related qualifications. Based upon a review of employment applications and supplemental questionnaires received, a limited number of the qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the examination process. 

The process will consist of four Oral Panel Interview (Technical - weighted 30%; Tactical - weighted 30%; Community - weighted 30%; and Presentation - weighted 10%). An eligibility list will be established from those who pass the examination process with a score of 80% or higher. Current and future vacancies may be filled from this list. The list will remain in effect for at least one year unless exhausted sooner. 

The department will invite the most qualified candidates from the eligibility list to a final department interview. The Police department will make the hiring decision.

What You’ll Do

The Code Enforcement Officer I/II performs investigative abatement work and enforcement work for State and City codes, ordinances, and approval conditions related to use, maintenance and safety of land and structures. The position receives supervision from the Code Enforcement Manager or Senior Code Enforcement Officer or higher-level department personnel.  The Code Enforcement Officer II may exercise technical and functional supervision over lower level staff.

THE POSITION

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is currently hiring to fill three (3) full-time vacancies for the position of Psychiatric Technician I/II within the Mobile Crisis Care Program (MCCP). Tri-City’s MCCP is a 24/7 mobile crisis response team with shifts that may include evenings, weekends, daytime hours, and holidays. Weekend and night shifts will be entitled to Shift Differential Pay of $2.50 per hour on weekdays (Monday through Friday) and $3.50 per hour on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Holiday shifts will be entitled to Holiday Pay.

Tri-City is looking for individuals to serve as a Psychiatric Technician I/II on a full-time basis for the MCCP. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Program Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Respond to client’s (Full-Service Partnership and Adult and Children’s Outpatient Programs and other specialty mental health services) crisis calls with or without law enforcement;

• Perform field-based and telephone emergency mental health evaluations and crisis stabilization in accordance with agency procedures;

• Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services to individuals, groups, and families;

• Identify treatment needs and make appropriate referrals for necessary services;

• Assist clients and relatives with understanding behavioral health problems and their reaction to them;

• Work on a multidisciplinary team for crisis response.

• Perform triage and linkages to non-client community members in the Tri-City catchment areas.

• Perform critical incident debriefs at the request of a community partner.

• Ability to respond to a mobile crisis in the community catchment area (Pomona, Claremont, and La Verne) within 60 minutes of disposition.

• Follow up with clients who receive mobile crisis services and collaborate with the client's treatment team for warm hand-off.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to calls during assigned shifts including: after regular business hours, late evenings, overnight hours, and on weekends; field work may be required.
