ABOUT THE POSITION
The City of Gilroy is currently recruiting for a Management Analyst in the Administration Department reporting to the Assistant to the City Administrator. As a Management Analyst, you’ll be a vital part of our team, working at the intersection of strategic management and community enhancement. This role offers a unique blend of responsibilities in identifying and managing process improvement opportunities across city operations, public service, and strategic planning. The City of Orinda is searching for a motivated individual to perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled duties in the maintenance, repair, and construction of City streets and drainage facilities, sign and striping repair and replacement, graffiti removal, and vegetation trimming and clearing. All full time maintenance personnel in the City are responsible for after-hours emergency call-outs, including weekends and holidays, on a rotational basis.  Special and holiday event (including 4th of July) coverage may also be required.    This position is the entry level in the Maintenance Worker series, reporting to the Public Works Supervisor.

Examples of essential duties:

• Maintains and/or repairs City streets and catch basins; grade, scrape, and level surfaces in preparation for road paving; performs repair of curbs and gutters and paving of streets and alleys using pneumatic tools, asphalt rakes, and other hand tools;
• Removes and replaces road surface material and debris; load, transport and unload stones, gravel, dirt, supplies, and equipment;
• Installs, repairs and cleans storm drains, pipelines, catch basins, and storm drain grates; cleans and maintains catch basins and right of ways;
• Trims and removes trees; performs stump grinding and root cutting;
• Fills, patches, and resurfaces holes, cracks, ditches, and service laterals; installs and replaces street and traffic signs;
• Performs skilled operation of the bobcat, street sweeper, dump truck, equipment trailer, and other heavy and light equipment;
• Removes and inspects manhole covers and manholes; mixes, pours, and finishes concrete to raise manholes to street surfaces; replaces manhole covers as needed;
• Places traffic control and warning signs; serves as a flagman; sets up lanterns and barricades;
• Operates a chemical sprayer in assigned areas to abate weeds;
• Performs graffiti removal; and
• Performs preventive maintenance procedures and minor maintenance and adjustments on equipment used.

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

Experience: One year of experience performing a variety of maintenance, repair, and construction and equipment operation work; and

License and Certificate: Possession of a valid California Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.  Ability to obtain Confined Space, Traffic Control Flagger, Trench Shoring, and Fork Lift Certificates.

The Department:
The responsibilities of the City Attorney's Office broadly consist of representing and advising the City Council, City officials, and employees of all City departments in all matters of law pertaining to their offices and departments. This includes appearing on behalf of the City in legal actions or proceedings, providing the City Council with information and advice on wide range of legal matters including litigation and new legislation, and staffing City Council and City Board and Commission meetings as necessary. The City Attorney's Office provides legal advice and support on matters initiated by the City Council, City Manager's Office, and all City departments. Typical work includes research and opinion on various issues; review and negotiation of contracts, leases, or permits; drafting employee policies; review and drafting of resolutions, ordinances, and agenda reports; and preparation of responses to Public Records Act requests.
 
The Position:
The City is recruiting to fill one (1) Assistant City Attorney position. Ideally, the position will be assigned to act as the primary advisor to the City’s Human Resources Department, with additional general municipal areas of work for other departments including but not limited to finance, governance, conflicts of interest, open meetings, and public records.
 
The position is expected to perform a wide variety of legal services ranging from litigation (or litigation management) of  administrative matters (such as internal disciplinary appeals, PERB UPC charges, and CalPERS determinations) to collective bargaining and MOU review/drafting; legal research and drafting opinions; negotiating contracts; drafting disciplinary documents; drafting resolutions and ordinances; providing on-call legal support to all divisions of the Human Resources Department (records, benefits, testing, classification, labor, workers compensation, recruitment, safety, risk management, etc.); and, staffing commission meetings such as the Civil Service Commission and Salary Setting Commission. This position is also expected to perform other duties as assigned.
 
The ideal candidate will have superior legal analytical ability and excellent research, writing and oral communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with City employees, opposing counsel, elected and appointed officials, and members of the public.
 
The ideal candidate will also have experience defending  allegations of misconduct in personnel matters, significant experience advising on human resource issues, including Fair Labor Standards Act, Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, labor negotiations, California Public Employees’ Retirement Law, state and federal benefits/leave laws, state and federal employment-related tax laws, and experience providing training in laws, regulations, policies and best practices in personnel management and workplace misconduct

This is a professional position in the Unclassified Service, is an “at-will” position, and the incumbent serves at the discretion of the City Manager. EXPERIENCE

• Six (6) years recent experience in the general practice of law.  Four (4) years of the qualifying experience must include dealing with municipal, county or state governmental agencies in the State of California;
• One year of supervisory experience is desirable; and
• Trial experience is highly desirable.

CERTIFICATION
• Active member in good standing of the State Bar of California is required;
• Admission to the Federal District Court and Federal Appeals Court Bar is desirable.

LICENSE:
Possession of an appropriate California driver's license is required.

POSITION INFORMATION

The Finance and Administrative Services Department is responsible for supporting the City’s operations through accounting, budget management, information & technology services, revenue services, payroll, purchasing and utility billing. This position, in coordination with the Administration and Budget team, will support the entire Department with a special emphasis on Citywide budget development and financial analysis.

DEFINITION

Under general direction of the Department Head, performs a wide range of responsible, professional, administrative, staff assignments which include oversight of interdepartmental and City-wide projects and programs; and performs related work as required. As this is a management development position, the incumbent may be assigned temporarily to other departments to gain broad experience in various municipal functions.

THE POSITION

The City of Daly City is seeking a highly skilled, business-oriented Senior Management Analyst with strong accounting, budgeting and financial management background to assist in budget development, projection and implementation of Citywide budgets.  This position reports to the Assistant Director of Finance and plays a critical role on the City’s budget, working in partnership with other departments.

The successful candidate will prepare budget reports, complex financial forecast and analyses, update budget forecasting model, monitor revenues and expenditures, make presentations, and provide staff assistance in support of Citywide activities.

The position requires a dedication to customer services, teamwork, excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and writing skills, ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task while delivering quality results, and a commitment to maintain high level of ethical integrity, timeliness and accuracy.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong accounting and financial background, a solid knowledge of municipal finance, governmental accounting and budgeting practices and procedures.  Public Agency experience is highly desirable.

The City of Foster City is looking for an experienced and dedicated Management Assistant to perform a wide variety of responsible, complex, and confidential administrative duties. This position requires considerable confidentiality with sensitive information, initiative, mature and independent judgment, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills. 

Education and Experience
Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. A typical way would be:

Education: Equivalent to completion of high school. Post high school or specialized administrative support training is desirable.

Experience: Four years of increasingly responsible experience providing project management support; at least two years of administrative support to a manager at an executive, division, or department head level. One year of supervisory experience is desirable.

Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed for relevant education, experience, training, and other job related qualifications. Based upon a review of employment applications received, a limited number of the qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the examination process. 

The process will consist of an Oral Panel Interview (weighted 80%) and a written exercise (weighted 20%). An eligibility list will be established from those who pass the examination process with a score of 70% or higher. Current and future vacancies may be filled from this list. The list will remain in effect for at least one year unless exhausted sooner. 

The department will invite the most qualified candidates from the eligibility list to a final department interview. The City Manager's Department will make the hiring decision.
