POSITION INFORMATION

The Finance and Administrative Services Department is responsible for supporting the City’s operations through accounting, budget management, information & technology services, revenue services, payroll, purchasing and utility billing. This position, in coordination with the Administration and Budget team, will support the entire Department with a special emphasis on Citywide budget development and financial analysis.

DEFINITION

Under general direction of the Department Head, performs a wide range of responsible, professional, administrative, staff assignments which include oversight of interdepartmental and City-wide projects and programs; and performs related work as required. As this is a management development position, the incumbent may be assigned temporarily to other departments to gain broad experience in various municipal functions.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

THE POSITION

The City of Daly City is seeking a highly skilled, business-oriented Senior Management Analyst with strong accounting, budgeting and financial management background to assist in budget development, projection and implementation of Citywide budgets.  This position reports to the Assistant Director of Finance and plays a critical role on the City’s budget, working in partnership with other departments.

The successful candidate will prepare budget reports, complex financial forecast and analyses, update budget forecasting model, monitor revenues and expenditures, make presentations, and provide staff assistance in support of Citywide activities.

Essential Duties

• Receives and transmits emergency telephone and radio traffic. 
• Maintains and processes a variety of communications reports, records and radio logs.
• Operates a dispatch console, uses Computer Aided Dispatch (C.A.D.) System and other computer programs to process information and records.

The City of San Bruno Community Services Department is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to coordinate the planning, organizing, coordination, and administration of community recreation programs for age 50-plus adults under the supervision of a Recreation Services Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for professional recreation duties, encompassing the planning, organization, coordination, and supervision of programs at the San Bruno Senior Center. We are seeking candidates with substantial experience in recreation programs related to the aging community.

General Programming:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at the forthcoming state-of-the-art aquatic and recreation facility set to open in Summer 2024. The brand-new 49,360 sq ft facility will feature indoor and outdoor lap pools, a zero-entry wading pool, fitness amenities, a gymnasium, a walking track, and ample space for programming and rentals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for professional recreation duties, encompassing the planning, organization, coordination, and supervision of recreational programs at the facility.  Candidates with experience in fitness, aquatics, and general recreation programs are desired.

Experience in recreation programs with the public is highly desirable.

The County of San Mateo Parks Department is seeking an experienced Park Ranger II to provide a variety of public services to preserve, protect, and enhance the natural, historical, recreational and educational resources of the County. The successful candidate will have experience negotiating and executing agreements and contracts for services and strategic sourcing for goods. JOB SUMMARY
Class specifications are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed by employees in the class. Specifications are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Under Administrative direction of the City Manager, Director of Public Works, Director of Planning, or other Senior Level Manager, performs a wide variety of professional, administrative, analytical and management support within assigned program areas; develops, implements, and administers assigned program responsibilities, including budget preparation, financial management and grant coordination; conducts research; performs other related duties as assigned.
 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Reports to the City Manager but may receive supervision from the Director of Public Works, Director of Planning, or other Senior Level Manager.  May exercise technical and functional supervision over technical and office support staff.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Essential and other important responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Performs a wide variety of professional level research, administrative, and analytical duties in support of assigned functions, operations, department, and/or division; performs duties in support of various administrative operations and activities within assigned area of responsibility including special projects, research studies, budget analysis and other specialized functions.
   
• Administers and coordinates assigned functions or projects; participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, and priorities for assigned functions or programs; recommends and implements resulting policies and procedures; creates and modifies policy and procedural manuals and guidelines.
   
• Prepares and presents comprehensive technical, administrative, and financial analytical and statistical reports that present and interpret data, identify alternatives, and present and justify conclusions, forecasts, and recommendations based on data summaries and other findings.
   
• Participates in the budget development and administration for assigned area of responsibility; analyzes proposed capital, operating, and maintenance expenditures; prepares reports and analyses related to impact of budgetary decisions; prepares financial forecasts; tracks and monitors budget expenditures.
   
• Provides assistance in resolving operational and administration issues; identifies issues and conducts research to find alternative solutions; makes and assists in the implementation of recommendations.
   
• Coordinates, implements, and monitors special projects within assigned area of responsibility; performs complex research and analysis of new programs, services, policies, and procedures; prepares and presents reports.
   
• Plans, coordinates, and evaluates activities associated with assigned contracts; participates in research and evaluation of proposed contractual obligations and agreements; assists in contract negotiations and administration; monitors compliance with applicable contractual agreements.
   
• Coordinates grant administration activities; prepares, writes, reviews, and monitors grant applications; monitors existing programs for compliance with regulations.
   
• Analyzes federal, state, and local legislative proposals for impact on assigned operations.
   
• Provides staff assistance to higher-level management staff; participates on and provides staff support to a variety of committees, boards, and commissions; prepares and presents staff reports and other correspondence as appropriate and necessary.
   
• Coordinates and collaborates with departments, divisions, and outside agencies; serves as a liaison with public and private organizations, community groups and other social organizations; provides information and serves as a resource.
   
• Assists in the coordination of interdepartmental and departmental activities with other City departments and divisions and with outside agencies.
   
• Attends and participates in professional group meetings; stays abreast of new developments within assigned area of responsibility; maintains awareness of federal, state, and local regulations.
   
• May oversee the work of lower-level administrative support staff.
   
• Responds to and resolves difficult and sensitive citizen complaints and inquiries.
   
• Areas of program responsibility may include serving as one or more of the following: Grants Program Coordinator, FOG Program Coordinator, GIS/Mapping Coordinator, Solids Waste Coordinator, Public Information Officer/Outreach Coordinator, Technology Coordinator, floodplain Manager, Vehicle & Equipment Coordinator, Assessment Districts Coordinator, Human Resources Coordinator, Development Coordinator, Stormwater Management Program Coordinator, Water Resources Coordinator, Inspection Services Coordinator, Backflow Prevention Device Program Coordinator.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for an individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Adult Full-Service Partnership (FSP). The Clinical Therapist I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community with moderate to severe behavioral health clients. The Clinical Therapist will report to a Clinical Supervisor.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high acuity clients.

• Within scope of authority, assesses, diagnoses, and treats a variety of clients with mental health disorders; collaborates with clients and creates individualized treatments plans according to client’s needs and circumstances.

• Initiates and conducts individual, group, and family counseling and biopsychosocial therapy sessions utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities; provides case management services in the office and in the field.

• Performs routine and emergency intake evaluations according to Authority procedure;
  completes appropriate forms and documents relating to the intake process; and prepares medical and demographic case history for use in diagnosis.

• Assists clients and family members in understanding behavioral health diagnosis, contributing factors/causes, effects, prognosis, rehabilitation, and treatment.

• Works with clients to address stressors and barriers to treatment and/or social functioning; identifies and focuses on client strengths and personal resources to effectively engage and treat client.
