The City of Newark is seeking dedicated professionals to be Public Safety Dispatchers and be members of a team providing excellent service to our community. EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:

Education:

• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• Two (2) years of clerical, administrative, or dispatching experience.
• Experience in emergency dispatching, law enforcement or emergency-related services is desirable.

License and Certificate:

• Possession of California Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Public Safety Dispatching Certificate is required within the probationary period and throughout employment.
• This classification requires the ability to travel independently within and outside of City limits.

This position performs a variety of para-professional, responsible eligibility determination, case management duties, and performs related duties as assigned in the Adult Unit and Adult Drop In Center. The HHSA Case Manager II is distinguished from the HHSA Case Manager I by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned, responsible for direct client contact in the provision of case management including complex cases. The position is located in the Behavioral Health Division at the Glenn County Health and Human Services Agency is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Interview and provides rehabilitation services to clients; develops and implements treatment plans; provides follow-up and assists clients with the resolution of problems.
• Provides information to potential clients, clients, and parents/guardians, if applicable, regarding program requirements and benefits.
• Maintains close, collaborative, and cooperative relationships with community agencies, social workers, local law enforcement, and other public agencies carrying out treatment and educational plans; provides information to other County departments and agencies.
• Assists in coordinating client placement in residential treatment facilities and periodically visits clients to assess progress. Provides referrals to other agencies as appropriate. 
• Performs home visits, school visits, court, or jail visits as appropriate; attends meetings with other departments, government agencies, and local agencies in matters regarding health and human services issues.
• Attends training, workshops, and continuing education classes, as required or appropriate.
• Makes determinations of crisis situations, authorizes 72-holds for hospitalizations.
• Remains on-call evenings and weekends for crisis and emergency situations.

Planning Manager
Annual Salary: $140,364 - $189,491 plus excellent benefits

The Town of Los Gatos is accepting applications for the Planning Manager position in the Community Development Department. 

The Planning Manager reports to the Director of Community Development and is responsible for the direct supervision of long-range and current planning activities and functions to guide the physical growth, development, and preservation of the Town of Los Gatos. The Town of Los Gatos is a general law city operating under the Council/Manager form of government. The Town Manager and Town Attorney are appointed and directly report to the Town Council. Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Administration, Architecture, or Urban Design from an accredited college or university; and seven (7) years of increasingly responsible significant professional planning experience, including experience supervising Planning staff involved with the General Plan, Zoning, or Development Services. 
• Valid Class C California drivers license. 
• Master's Degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Architecture, or Urban Design; AICP Certification and/or Historic Preservation experience are desirable.

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. The Town is searching for one (1) Development Review Technician at the I, II or Senior level.

The Town seeks a customer service forward Development Review Technician I/II/Senior to perform technical and administrative work in development review services including Planning and Building; assists the public at the counter, on the phone, over email, and other communications methods; provides technical information related to the application for and issuance of permit applications; accepts plans, calculates fees, routes and processes applications; and performs related work as required. Under supervision, a Police Cadet is a non-sworn, part-time classification that assists police personnel in a variety of operations in order to gain practical knowledge of law enforcement. They will obtain practical work experience that supports their career goals.

Employees in this classification may receive training and experience in each of the below duties.

CLASS CHARACTERISITICS:

Incumbents in this position are interested in law enforcement (and the Union City Police Department will provide the opportunity to learn various aspects of police work where they can integrate academic philosophies with practical experience. Positions assigned to Parking Enforcement and Vehicle Abatement may be responsible for:

• Patrolling an assigned area by vehicle or on foot to ensure public compliance with existing parking ordinances.
• Maintaining communication with dispatch.
• Writing warnings and citations for illegally parked vehicles.
• Observing and reporting hazardous conditions such as missing traffic signals, signs, and street markings that need to be repainted.
• Maintaining assigned equipment and supplies such as hand-held citation computers, citation books, rain gear, street cones, flares, etc.
• Performing traffic control duties such as setting up barricades and temporary signs, directing traffic, and placing inoperative bags on broken parking meters.

Positions assigned to Fleet Maintenance may be responsible for:

• Reviewing and reporting vehicle deficiencies.
• Scheduling repair of vehicles and equipment.
• Transporting vehicles and equipment to repair shop.
• Arranging for tows.
• Entering and maintaining vehicle inventory/status log.
• Coordinating service, oil changes, and cleaning of vehicles.
• Maintaining supplies such as stocking first aid kits, fingerprint kits and flares, ensuring fire extinguishers are full and appropriately charged, etc.
• Registering undercover vehicles with DMV.

The Department: The Suisun City Police Department is a progressive and proactive law enforcement agency. As a result of its proximity to neighboring jurisdictions, the employees of the Suisun City Police Department remain extremely busy as they address the needs of the community. Candidates interested in testing for this position must be prepared to take on the challenges of a fast-paced work environment serving both the Police and Fire Departments.

The Position: Under supervision (Public Safety Dispatcher I) or general supervision (Public Safety Dispatcher II) performs a variety of duties involved in receiving, evaluating, prioritizing, and relaying calls for emergency and non-emergency public safety assistance; dispatches appropriate units and coordinates response of emergency personnel; maintains, processes, and distributes police records; operates a variety of telecommunications equipment including radio, telephone, and CAD systems; and performs a wide variety of specialized clerical duties involved in the preparation, maintenance, and release of materials related to law enforcement activities.
