The Power Resources Specialist I/II position reports to a Principal Power Resources Specialist in the Power Resources Division. This position is part of an exciting, fast-paced team responsible for procuring hundreds of megawatts of renewable energy projects. The selected candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities: 

• Supports the preparation, issuing, and evaluation of solicitations for long term renewable energy, energy storage services, Resource Adequacy, energy and other power products, including overseeing or supporting consultants.  

• Plans and supports the negotiation and execution of power contracts, including facilitating complying with City contract execution requirements. 

• Assists in the management, analyzing, and enforcing of power contracts, including long term renewable energy contracts through development, construction, and operation.  

• Assists in efforts to pursue opportunities for the City to develop City-owned power assets.  
• Participates in completing analysis and prepare procurement plans, including managing consultants, developing procurement strategies.  
• Supports and undertakes projects related to power, procurement, and validation; assists in the approval of energy purchases or sales of surplus energy.
• Collaborates with the regulatory team in drafting required regulatory filings such as integrated resources plans and renewable procurement plans.  
• Collaborates with the account management team to develop new products desired by customers, such as direct renewables and feed-in-tariffs.  
• Participates in joint procurement with other Community Choice Aggregators (CCAs) and CA Community Power.  
• Develops and maintain relationships with power suppliers and consultants. 
• Assures compliance with Federal, State, and local requirements.

Salary Information:

The total annual salary range for a Power Resources Specialist I is $93,868.32 - $114,397.92.The total annual salary range for a Power Resources Specialist II is: $102,145.68 - $124,444.32. These ranges include an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable pay. Actual pay shall be determined by the candidates' qualifications and experience.

The Capital Asset Senior Accountant position will be filled at the Associate level and will be responsible for all aspects of accounting associated with the management of tangible and intangible capital assets. The Revenue Accountant position is part of the General Ledger and Financial Reporting unit within the Finance Section. The General Ledger and Financial Reporting unit maintains financial integrity over the general ledger accounts, oversees toll revenue from the seven state-owned toll bridges and from the express lanes, prepares the Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFR) and other stand-alone financial statements, and works closely with the auditors for the annual audits.

Under the supervision of the Toll Revenue Supervisor, this position prepares toll revenues from the seven state-owned toll bridges and from the express lanes. This process includes preparing daily toll revenue entries and monthly toll revenue and traffic reports; reviewing trial balance from the Regional Customer Service Center to record into BATA financial statements; researching and investigating variances; recording and analyzing the data; working with the Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) unit, Electronic Payment department and other areas to ensure the accuracy of toll revenue accounting; reviewing and reconciling the general ledger accounts; and performing other job-related tasks or assignments as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operating and Capital Budget Management for all Entities and Funds

The Office of the Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder and Chief Elections Officer is seeking well-qualified candidates for the position of Principal Appraiser.  Principal Appraisers must have thorough knowledge of Property Tax and the Revenue and Taxation Code as it relates to Real Property Valuation, Change in Ownership reassessment or exclusion requirements, New Construction valuation, Decline in Value valuation, Property Classification, etc.

THE DEPARTMENT AND DIVISION
The mission of the Office of the Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder and Chief Elections Officer is to ensure equitable treatment of County property owners by accurate and fair valuation of land, improvements, and businesses; to create an accurate public record of recorded transactions relating to people and property within San Mateo County; and to register County citizens to vote and efficiently conduct honest elections.
 
The Department is responsible for:

• The maintenance of 240,000 assessments and a local property tax roll of over $238 billion.
• The maintenance of County birth, death, and marriage records.

• Accurately identify and measure depreciation and obsolescence
• Measure income-producing characteristics of property and appropriately capitalize the income stream into value
• Identify and classify various types of land, sites, buildings, structures, manufactured homes, vessels, aircraft, trade fixtures, and personal property interests in an accurate and uniform manner
• Travel to a variety of geographic locations throughout the County according to regular schedules as well as on demand
• Produce effective presentations
• Maintain complete and accurate records
• Prepare written appraisal reports
• Operate standard office equipment, including departmental applications
• Use initiative and sound independent judgment within established guidelines
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work

Open and Promotional. Anyone may apply. Current County of San Mateo and County of San Mateo Superior Court of California employees with at least six months (1040 hours) of continuous service in a classified regular, probationary, Confidential and Management extra-help/limited term, and SEIU or AFSCME represented extra help/limited term positions prior to the final filing date will receive five points added to their final passing score on this examination.  
 
Responses to the supplemental questionnaire, in addition to our regular employment application form, must be submitted in order to be included in this recruitment.
 
The first phase of the examination process will consist of an application screening (weight: pass/fail).  Those who pass the application screening will be invited to the second phase of the examination process, the panel interview, which could include the evaluation of a brief written and/or performance exercise given immediately preceding the interview.  In order to be considered for the position, applicants will have to successfully pass the interview.
 
Depending on the number of applicants, an application appraisal of education and experience may be used in place of other examinations or a screening committee may select those applicants whose education and/or experience appear to best meet the needs of the position. Qualified applicants will be notified of the date, time and place of the test(s).
