The Department: 

The City Clerk’s Office administrates democratic processes such as elections, access to records, and all legislative actions, ensuring transparency to the public. The Position:

Under general direction, the Deputy City Clerk is responsible for providing back-up support to the City Clerk and Assistant City Clerk.  This includes but is not limited to records management, public records requests, attendance at Council and/or Standing Committee meetings, preparing and editing minutes, and assisting with special projects. May be responsible for noticing, advertising, and calendaring public hearings.

THE POSITION:

The City of San Rafael Police Department is seeking to fill the full-time exempt position of Senior Management Analyst II (Advanced Professional Temp). • Supports the public meeting process including coordinating agenda items for public meetings, memorializing meeting minutes and any actions taken by the PAAC.
• Supports the PAAC Chair in the facilitation of the meeting process for this new committee. 
• Analyze, research, and prepare reports based on data analysis.
• Assess and examine public safety best practices.
• Provides administrative support between meetings and in preparation for public meetings.
• Performs related duties as required.

The Urban Forestry Division of the City of Fremont has two paid internships available for immediate hiring.  Through a variety of tasks and duties, interns will gain well-rounded, first-hand work experience and observational knowledge in the fields of urban forestry management and municipal administration.

The Role

The role consists of assisting city staff in the preservation, maintenance, and sustainable growth of Fremont’s urban forest. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general direction of the Assistant Director, specific assignments and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:    

• Develop and manage annual budgets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with agency priorities.
• Monitor expenditures, identify variances and work closely with section and project managers to address financial issues.

The Position

The Senior Landscape Architect will plan, supervise, and review the work of City Landscape Architect staff. The incumbent will: coordinate and oversee various landscape projects; perform professional landscape architect work in conjunction with the design and preparation of plans, specifications and cost estimates for the development and rehabilitation of parks, landscaped areas and street beautification projects; inspect and review the work of developers and contractors landscaping for conformance with plans and specifications; and give professional advice on landscape matters.

• Organize and oversee the landscape design and layout of parks, recreational areas, roadway medians and pedestrian ways.
• Plan, supervise, review, and evaluate the work of professional City and contract staff.
• Train staff in work procedures.
• Provide policy guidance and interpretation to staff.
• Recommend design direction on high-profile urban design of public and private projects that impact landscape design and urban projects within the City.
• Oversee and coordinate the Parks Capital Improvement Plan update for the Department.
• Administer and implement the Tree Preservation Ordinance, including recommending approval or denial of permits for tree removal.
• Recommend modifications to ordinances, policies and procedures and implements after approval.
• Perform professional landscape architectural work including preparing landscape plans, coordinating master plan development, performing park planning and preparing related specifications, contracts, cost estimates.
• Review and approve of landscape proposals for private development, ensuring compliance with codes, policies, regulations, and procedures.
• Prepare reports.
• Recommend approval or denial of various projects for submission to the Planning Commission and/or the City Council.
• Direct the inspection of and/or inspect public and private landscaping work for conformance with plans, specifications, and ordinances.
• Administer the tree planting program, including maintenance of the street tree master plan, botanical designation, inspection of plantings, issuance of permits for planting, removal, and pruning.
• Serve as technical adviser to City staff and officials on park, street tree and landscape matters.
• Act as the City's representative in dealing with public and private agencies, groups and individuals concerned with parks and open space.
• Conduct park location studies to evaluate park site feasibility and proposed development.
• Respond to public requests and complaints regarding landscape development and tree preservation.
• Coordinate the work of the unit with that of other departments and divisions.
• Maintain accurate records and files.
• Prepare clear and effective reports, correspondence, policies, procedures, ordinances and other written materials. Prepare plans for planting, irrigation, site plans, grading, and layout for parks and median projects.
• Other related duties as assigned.
