Description
This is a NEW program within the Marysville Fire Department. The Marysville Fire Department is hiring continuously for twelve (12) Firefighter Reserves. These positions will be funded for four (4) years through the SAFER Grant.
For each 24 hour shift worked, you will receive $60 for food and mileage, that will be paid monthly in accordance with the City of Marysville's established pay schedule.
Ideal Candidate
The Shift Reserve Firefighter position is designed for individuals wishing to serve the community and obtain on the job experience. This position is physically demanding and highly rewarding.
This program is federally grant funded and will provide augmented staffing to the paid career personnel for a 4 year period. Ideally, Shift Reserve Firefighters will fill open shifts 365 days a year to achieve the desired staffing level. Training and career advancement opportunities available. Anyone meeting these requirements is encouraged to apply.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 18 years of age
- Valid California Driver’s license
- High school diploma and/or GED
- Graduate of a State Fire Marshal Firefighter I Academy or CSFM Firefighter I certificate
- Current Emergency Medical Technician Certificate
- Current CPAT card, less than 1 year old
Benefits
This is a non-benefited position, as the status is volunteer/part-time.

- Graduate of a State Fire Marshal Firefighter I Academy or CSFM Firefighter I certificate
- Current Emergency Medical Technician Certificate
