LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT: Temporary/Seasonal Employment
Aquatics Season: March 2024 - October 2024 for programs offered at the Pat Granucci Aquatic Center.
Staff can average between 5-20 hours per week based on the season, needs of the program, and staff availability. Staff may be required to work weekends and holidays.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
To Apply: Complete an online employment application through CalOpps. Possession of certificates are required. Please submit PDF copies online with the application. If you are enrolled in a Red Cross course to obtain the required certifications, please indicate in the supplemental questionnaire where you are enrolled and when the class will be completed.
Exam Process: Only a limited number of candidates, whose applications indicate that, among those competing, they are better qualified in terms of related experience, will be invited to participate in the recruitment process, which will consist of:
Oral Interview (weighted 100%).
Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of leadership techniques; of instructional aquatics activities and equipment; of the principals and techniques of first aid, water safety, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Employment Processing: Those selected are subject to pre-employment drug testing and fingerprinting. In accordance with Federal law, an employee must provide proof of identity and proof that they may legally work in the United States.
