Description

The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Health Services Supervisor! In this role, you will serve as the Deputy Division Manager over the Public Health Division of the Health, Housing & Community Services Department. In addition to supervising staff, you will be responsible for monitoring Division-wide budgets and grants, including contract processes; planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring programs and setting goals, objectives, and policies and procedures. The Health Services Supervisor will lead a team to maintain and manage the Division's performance management system. This position will also oversee and manage special projects for the Division. 

The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill a temporary vacancy.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:

Equivalent to graduation from a college or university with major coursework in public health, nursing, psychology, health education or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a health professional in a public health agency. Two (2) years supervisory experience, which has included budget and program development, is required.

Other requirements: Must be able to travel to various locations within and outside the City of Berkeley to meet the program needs and to fulfill the job responsibilities. When driving on City business, maintenance of a valid California driver's license and satisfactory driving record is required. Must be willing to work evenings or weekends.
