Fine Print. Candidates will be required to successfully pass a psychological screening and extensive background investigation conducted under POST guidelines, including a polygraph and Department of Justice/FBI fingerprint check, prior to employment. The background can take up to 8 weeks but may be expedited if candidate is currently employed with a law enforcement agency in the State of California. A conviction history will not necessarily disqualify an applicant from appointment; however, failure to disclose a conviction will result in disqualification or termination.
