POSITION
Under supervision the Pool Lifeguard performs, observes and ensures the safety of participants in recreational and organized swimming activities; maintains a safe aquatic environment and assists with daily activities and operations of the program; communicates pool rules; assist instructors with class preparation, inventory, cleaning of equipment and registration as needed and performs related duties as required. This is a temporary part-time non-benefited position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Ideal Candidate
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
- Aquatic environment and related water safety issues including effective lifesaving techniques; basic swimming strokes including butterfly, breaststroke, free style & backstroke.
Ability to:
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and program participants; perform lifesaving techniques; effectively perform swimming strokes; successfully complete the American Red Cross Pool Lifeguard training prior to first day of employment.
EXPERIENCE
Previous related experience is highly desirable.
