LIBRARIAN III, OUTREACH SERVICES SUPERVISOR- HEADQUARTERS
40 HOURS PER WEEK – FULL TIME
We are seeking a customer service driven library professional with excellent communication skills for our Rohnert Park Headquarters. The ideal candidate will have strong outreach, technical, and training skills, and be comfortable developing and implementing new systems.

Under general supervision, this full-time, benefited position recommends systemwide goals and procedures for outreach; reviews/updates public services outreach training curriculum; models outreach skills and tactics for branch staff; identifies and coordinates Sonoma County Library’s presence at large countywide events; improves logistics for coordination of branch-specific outreach.
TYPICAL TASKS include, but are not limited to:
- Mentors and collaborates with branch staff to build relationships and coordinate offsite outreach assignments.
- Designs, implements, and evaluates outreach programs and events tailored to diverse communities.
- Recommends systemwide goals and procedures for outreach; regularly reviews and adjusts outreach goals and programs based on performance data and community feedback.
- Ensures outreach programming is adaptable and meets the unique needs of different communities.
- Provides technical and functional direction to outreach services support staff.
- Trains support staff and branch staff on outreach best practices, outreach programming, and community engagement strategies.
- Identifies potential funding sources and writes grant proposals to support the BiblioBus and outreach programs.
- Participates in budget preparation and administration; prepares cost estimates for budget recommendations; submits justifications for budget items; monitors and controls expenditures
- Supervises the full operations of the multiple outreach vehicles; oversees schedules of Mobile Outreach Vehicles; serves as backup driver for Mobile Outreach Vehicles.
- Ensures the BiblioBus collection is current and relevant by managing circulation and materials maintenance activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), Master of Library Science (MLS), or Master of Science in Library Science (MSLS) degree from an accredited college or university; four (4) years of experience as a professional librarian. Must have a valid California driver’s license. Spanish bilingual skills are desired.
SALARY RANGE: Librarian III - $43.99/hour to $54.94/hour
